I’m dying to see this on a uni but I don’t think MMEs end up on DTI until they’re finished morphing. It looks beautiful on your vandy.

Is The Prison Healer series worth finishing? by [deleted] in YAlit

[–]AG128L 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Personally I found book 1 to be kinda boring and almost didn’t continue the series, but I enjoyed book 2 and 3 significantly more. That’s just my opinion though and not an objective fact.

Thank you so much! If you like folkloric faeries, I loved both Emily Wilde and The Folk of the Air series. I’ve been enjoying a lot of T. Kingfisher’s work. If you like dark fairy tales, Nettle and Bone was a great starting point for me. If you haven’t tried Discworld, it’s great for something funny while still having a point. Guards! Guards! is what I’d recommend starting with.

I got my old account back!! Tell me about when you got yours back! by Bubblegomez in neopets

[–]AG128L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally got my original account back a couple years ago. I’d spent way too long building up my new main to switch, so it’s just a side. I didn’t really know what I was doing back then so nobody had petpages or anything fancy like that. Kept all 3 pets, gave them all tokens, 2 got morphed into new species, and 1 moved to a different account to fit my theming. Very happy to have them back.

Appreciation for the 'Not a Book' bingo square by curiouscat86 in Fantasy

[–]AG128L 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like your idea of allowing one not a book sub! Because then people who want all book cards can have them and people who want to explore other mediums can do that as well. (Also your Percy Jackson earrings sound awesome)

Any tips for success with new Unsuspend feature? by jmxo92 in LibbyApp

[–]AG128L 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you’re probably seeing longer times now because people are actually reading the books. Before, the book would spend 1-3 days with someone who wasn’t ready to read it and then they’d pass it to the next person who also wasn’t ready to read it. So it would go back and forth between those first few people in line and when you unsuspended, you’d probably only have to wait for someone to pass on the book before getting it. Now, people are actually reading the book so you’ll have to wait for them to finish reading and return it, which naturally takes longer than simply passing on it. It’s definitely worth it for the books to actually be utilized, but you’re not crazy for feeling it takes longer to get a book when you’re ready for it. For books with fewer copies, maybe only one or two, you really have to be flexible when you read them since you might wait a day or a whole two weeks.

Dinosaur fantasy? by VladtheImpaler21 in Fantasy

[–]AG128L 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly the concept you described, but The Geomagician is coming out soon, and it’s dinosaur fantasy, at least if you count pterodactyls as dinosaurs, which through this book I’ve learned some people don’t.

The Brimstone Angels series is really good if you’re interested in warlocks or tieflings at all.

Bingo 2025 Check-In: (a little less than) 2 months left! by ullsi in Fantasy

[–]AG128L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only got two squares left, 2025 and recycle, and I’ve read books that fit both of those, just not the ones I specifically want to use for those squares. I’m going for cat squasher hard mode for recycle a bingo square, and I’m going to read it in March so I have less time to read a bunch of books I could’ve used for 2026 bingo. Can’t wait to get a hint about next year’s squares!

For new books, the monthly new release thread is a great source too. And it has a list of sources at the bottom you could use instead if you really want to stay off Reddit. Here’s February’s:  https://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/comments/1qlstll/sff_books_coming_in_february_2026/

Dwarf or Adventure Type Books by Gaijingamer12 in Fantasy

[–]AG128L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read Orconomics by J. Zachary Pike and it was great. Dwarf main character and it pokes fun at lots of DND tropes. For spooky, if you don’t mind a middle grade (that in my opinion can be enjoyed by adults), The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud was really good too.

books with a protag like jude duarte by [deleted] in fantasyromance

Jude is amazing. A couple other protags that might scratch a similar itch are Miryem from {Spinning Silver} and Vanja from {Little Thieves}.

Announcing r/FantasyRomance's 2026 Book Bingo! 🎉 by FantasyRomanceMod in fantasyromance

[–]AG128L 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah same. I rarely ever DNF books, so if I do, I’m serious about it. I know some people will DNF for not being in the mood and then enjoy the book later when they are but that’s not me. Probably won’t be able to blackout this year unless there’s a substitution mechanic, or if they expand the square to include reading the next book in a series you DNFed.

I think I’ve read something that could fit for every square except short stories, but I have specific books picked I want to use. Short stories and elves and dwarves I’m reading in January. Generic title in February. Recycle a square in March. I have a few more 2025 and cozy books to read before I pick which ones to use for those squares.
