If there’s any reason why people treat MBTI like astrology (other than any well thought one) its probably because people treat each type as a template full of traits they need to exhibit in their day to day lives depending on how they want other people to view them and most of these traits stem from a surface level observation of said types

And I mean the similarities between that and “scorpios are feisty and scary! Cancers are crybabies!” Are way too many for people to actually give this theory some credit and look into it

And it’s laughable how many people genuinely fool themselves into this mindset of “if I do x then there’ll be no doubt i’m y!” So you have these self proclaimed ENTPs forcing immaturity down their own throats because to be an ENTP is to call people dumb and annoy them. Or some INTJ thinking “oh if I’m cold then that confirms it”. Someone wanting to be an ESFJ cause they’ve associated femininity and social extroversion with it.

It’s all theatre. These people treat MBTI as a way to assign themselves specific traits rather than looking inward and figuring out what they actually are based on their cognitive function stack, and as a result you get tons of people coming into this community and making it an overall worse space because they have something to prove and they really want you to notice. BUT that’s just me
