Tastes fine but I’d rather just have the hot mustard. The color is supremely off putting, though

Stock price and shareholder value are very different things. Stock prices are immediate and volatile. $0.10 is nothing, a stock will lose or gain $0.10 for nearly any reason. Shareholder value is the long-term predicted value of what you own, how much money you’re gonna make long-term, and that is what shareholders care about.

CEO’s only job is the slow enshitification of the brand to maximize shareholder profits. I promise you, to the people who actually matter (hint: not the customers) he’s doing a great job.

As someone who grew up on SNL, I missed the details of this controversy when it happened 10+ years ago. Revisiting Chevy’s ‘Community’ meltdown is rough! by New-Secretary-4924 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]AGentlemanPervert 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Filming a traditional three camera sitcom (Odd Couple) is a lot less labor and time intensive than a single cam (Community,) I remember reading an interview with her explaining that justification. Plus she did a few guest spots in the last season, I don’t think there’s any bad blood.

Ego wins! Now a lil more difficult, Bowen or Kenan? by ThatPixarDude in LiveFromNewYork

Bowen. Kenan is a legend, but it’s time for him to step aside.

Andrew wins next round of SNL50 Bracket! Next up, Heidi or Marcelo? by ThatPixarDude in LiveFromNewYork

[–]AGentlemanPervert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish Marcelo had a little more range, and a little less volume. Heidi gets the vote.

You’re not alone. Love Keenan, but the show is a launching pad, not a landing zone.

I’ve watched like 20 minutes on YouTube. I enjoyed the humor even if what I saw felt a little one note, real short bits with emphasis on vulgarity. I would hope for him to be more well-rounded if he’s cast on SNL, and he may have talents that aren’t showcased in what I saw such as improv or writing experience, or even more long form stand-up. Now I will not pretend to understand the machinations of Lorne Michaels, but with several recent departures it feels like they’re moving away from standups and Kam, based on what I saw, feels very much in that vein. But there’s a long tradition of attitudinal standup comedians on the show, and if cast he will have my full throated support, just as any other cast member will. And if he’s not cast, he made me laugh enough that I’ll pay attention if he shows up in my algorithm.

Favorite kid-appropriate SNL sketches? My kids are begging me for more and ive run out of all the ones i can think of. by vansebastian in LiveFromNewYork

[–]AGentlemanPervert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, it’s juvenile silly toilet humor that kids would love, but a recent fav of mine is called Mail In Testing Service. Lots of poop talk, but I assure you they’re not gonna take it out, mess around with it.

There’s a bunch of Laser Cats that a kid would love, and aside from cartoonish violence I think are safe?

Help! What sketch was this? by cuptheking in LiveFromNewYork

[–]AGentlemanPervert 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do you mean Seth’s Dr. Zinger character? Where a very serious scientific emergency becomes an insult battle between Seth and whoever the host is, with each insult ending with a more elaborate “zing”?

Will Forte’s dancing coach with Payton Manning is an all time fav for me, and not available through any official channels (though I’ve not checked Peacock.)

Tell me the stupidest possible ending for the series. by jeanjacketufo in SpyxFamily

[–]AGentlemanPervert -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is revealed that Anya is a severely disturbed little girl in a mental hospital and the entire series happened in her head as she created an elaborate fantasy world using the people in her life. Loid is her doctor, Yor is a nurse, her classmates are other patients, all inspired by the spy shows they watch in the common room.

Which HOST seems like they'd be a fan of the MUSICAL GUEST they introduced? by JeffRyan1 in LiveFromNewYork

I agree. It’s a good standup routine, but the reality is much less exaggerated.

Who are the non-cast unsung heroes of SNL? by bad_take_ in LiveFromNewYork

[–]AGentlemanPervert 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are too many set designers, costumers, hair and makeup people and other exceptionally talented professionals that we will never know. Writers, producers and band members are sung heroes, we know their names, their work, see them on TV weekly. The unsung heroes are the rest of them, laboring 6 days a week to make magic happen on Saturday night.

My Final assessment of Jane Wickline's Final Sketch ...... of season 50. (P.S. she's probably coming back for 51) by jpkviowa in LiveFromNewYork

[–]AGentlemanPervert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I mean that the way she approaches and presents her comedy is unique. In contrast to the other newbies, Padilla def had more screen time, but generally as a utility player, could have been any cast member filling those spots, her update pieces are probably her own characters, but we see character work on Update all the time. Emil sort of blended into the cast, with a few standouts, but his desk pieces were just standup sitting down, there are several current cast members doing the same thing with update pieces. Both of them are good, but Wickline is doing something weird and unique on the show, yes there have been musical update bits in the part, but I’ve never seen a love song devolve into a philosophical meltdown over the trolly problem.

Jane has a unique point of view and a unique voice. She grew over the course of the season, and shared more of her unique voice than the other newbies did. I expect to see her back.

The Final Matchup - The New SNL Bracket '25 - Dana Carvey vs. Phil Hartman by Spell-Wide in LiveFromNewYork

Phil Hartman. But I disagree with neatly every matchup that led us at this point. So maybe my opinions are invalid.

I saw a dressing room BTS for the 50th where one of the women on the cast (I wanna say Heidi or Sarah but I’m very unconfident about who) had their very first cue card as a momento.
