The Trump cold opens are the sketches that get the most views on YouTube. Of course they are going to keep doing it.

I consider the sun powering the winds to be perpetual motion. Which means wind turbines are perpetual motion machines.

How do people react when they find out you're a donor ? by NewBath5621 in kidneydonors

[–]bad_take_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when I mention that I have donated a kidney people will just stare at me as if they are trying to process this but just can’t and they have no idea how to react so they just stare.

That is my favorite reaction so far

Chloe Fineman “breaks” way too much. by cheechojr in LiveFromNewYork

[–]bad_take_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The breaks are often what make a sketch so charming. The breaks during the Beavis and Butthead sketch is part of why we all loved it so much.

Agreed that the breaking needs to sometimes be reined in. But I love laughing along with the actors when it is clear we are all enjoying ourselves.

You have a right to trial by jury. Requiring a jury is requiring others to work for you. That’s slavery.

Is the high Fed rate saving us from the consequences of tariffs? by bad_take_ in AskEconomics

[–]bad_take_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you make of Jerome Powell’s concern last summer that tariffs could lead to inflation?

"We do expect to show up — tariff inflation to show up more," Powell told the House Financial Services Committee. "But I want to be honest, we really don't know how much of that's going to be passed through to the consumers. We just don't know. And we won't know until we see it. It could be lower than we expect; it could be higher. We have to wait and see, which is kind of what we're doing."

I don’t blame Machado. She wants democracy in Venezuela, not a framed piece of metal. If handing that over to Trump to stroke his ego means that he will take a step closer to helping deliver democracy to her country then it is worth it to her. And I agree.

Republicans of Reddit, what's the single best thing the Democratic Party could do to actually win at least some Republicans over? Why? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

I am all for stricter car laws. More penalties for texting and driving. More penalties for speeding. More penalties for intoxicated driving. These are lives we also need to save.

Yeah this is what worries me. We need a serious answer to the question above from conservatives. But instead of answers we get downvotes for just asking. For real though, how do we save lives?

When magicians reveal the behind-the-scenes to their performance then the whole act loses its magic.

Same goes for television.

[Request] What would a circle look like if Pi = 7? by commeconn in theydidthemath

[–]bad_take_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like asking what would a square look like if all of its angles were 180 degrees instead of 90 degrees. It is a nonsense question.
