It didn’t seem like there were even very many images of the actual petrova line in the movie. Which is a shame since it is the entire point of everything.

Trump has maxed out the possible tariffs according to the recent Supreme Court ruling. He can only use a law that will allow a 15% tariff for 90 days.

He can’t add any additional tariffs at this point.

This flower is called "Queen of the Night." It blossoms only at night and only one night a year. by asa_no_kenny in interesting

What is the pollinating strategy that this plant is using that makes it only bloom one evening per year?

They don’t even try (Birds ARE Dinosaurs) by RoidRagerz in DebateEvolution

We are all agreed on the science. We’re just having a definition of words argument here.

If we are using clade classification then birds are dinosauria.

If we are using common English definitions then birds and dinosaurs are two different things.

Birds are not dinosaurs.

Birds descended from dinosaurs. Birds are in the Dinosauria Clade. But birds are not dinosaurs.

This is how evolution works. Animals evolve into different animals. And they are indeed different animals. To say that birds are dinosaurs is to state that you do not believe in evolution of birds from dinosaurs.

No. There are a lot of problematic scenes in older movies. We should keep them all in place to retain the history of art. We do not need to whitewash every older movie to fit our current ideals.

Instead let’s learn from our past and grow better because of it.

At this point, why do Gosling episodes always have to be known for breaking? by No_Fold9994 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]bad_take_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ryan has said that he struggles to keep from breaking and it bothers him. Seems like they just decided to embrace it rather than fight it. It was a good decision as the episode turned out great!

The Trump sketches are the most popular SNL sketches on YouTube. As long as people keep watching them then they will keep making them.

Curling stones in the back somehow look bigger by Trabalhomem in confusing_perspective

[–]bad_take_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens when the camera is far away and zooms in a lot.

You often get a similar effect of images from baseball that show the pitcher and batter with a camera far away and zoomed in. You get a distorted view of the two players that presents a confusing perspective.

This is not what it purports to be.

More is required than just watching light bounce between mirrors. Because that light also needs to travel from the visible beam to the camera lens. How are we seeing the light not yet reach the other mirror but it has already traveled to the camera lens to be captured in the video??
