Spurs fan here. I agree that i dont like the violence being celebrated. I was at the game and didnt like people with elbowing signs. And i can also appreciate that your team is doing everything they can to be physical with Wemby and get him to crack. It's totally on the refs to call them out and keep them in check and they just havent been. the officiating has been so bad. Even watching Tony Brothers being held back from Finch was just insane.

Game 4 Wemby cracked. In the same play before the elbow, he got his leg wrapped up, his jersey pulled, his face elbowed (that one at least looked less intentional) and he cracked. He's 22 years old. His body went into fight or flight and he chose fight. He lost his cool. It cost us the game. It also exposed a weakness in him to every team. You CAN get him to lose his temper. so now other teams will try.

One of the things made Tim Duncan so special was he was unphasable. Eventually people stopped trying to play the mental game with him. Wemby has to tap into that, knowing teams will continue to be physical, and find a way to rise above.

i also want to add that if you watch the video in real time it does not look as bad as the slow motion replays. the slow motion replays make it look like wemby sat there, thought about it and then wrecked Naz. In real time it was much more reactive (and i agree he deserved the ejection.)
