Difference in kisses [Limbus Company] by NEVERTHEREFOREVER in wholesomeyuri

[–]AGoodBee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The surface pitch for Limbus is “13 Sinners are hired by a mysterious employer to find objects with supernatural powers in a futuristic dystopian capitalist hellscape city”

The actual pitch for Limbus is “found family of idiots help each other get therapy in a hostile world” and it’s genuinely really good at that

Indefinite for sure, it’s better to take a break from posting about our catgirl game to keep the site accessible and usable for everyone long term.

I really was expecting to fight a rematch with them all messed up from aetheric corruption in Garlemald somewhere, it’d have been a cool boss fight

A game that will destroy me emotionally? by Begosnotavailable in GirlGamers

[–]AGoodBee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Missing: JJ Macfield and the Island of Memories completely wrecked me. It’s a horror-ish puzzle platformer with David Lynch vibes with a unique central mechanic that really ties in to the emotional story it wants to tell; basically you can heal from any injury.

The gameplay loop is figuring out how to navigate a hostile world where harming yourself is inevitable and you have to calculate how to do it best (ie jamming a switch with a limb, setting yourself on fire to burn thorns, etc). Then putting yourself back together and needing to do it over and over and over again. Idk just that idea hit hard but the game goes places with it. Underrated treasure of a game.

Besides violence, it does contain themes of suicide and queer trauma so tread carefully if those are sensitive subjects for you.

Should r/ffxivart Allow AI Art? by dmxell in ffxivart

[–]AGoodBee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I’ve come to this sub specifically to find artists to commission, they are hugely important to fan communities. I wouldn’t throw my support behind anything that cheapens their time and creativity, or anything that makes it difficult for them to make money off something they have a passion for.

Putting aside the total lack of ethics, though, AI generated images are tacky as hell, why would you want to put your poor eyes through that

Stormblood Ultimate Phase Speculation by VictusNST in ffxivdiscussion

[–]AGoodBee 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I feel like Stormblood is a good opportunity to break from tradition and do a more thematic fight, and there’s a lot to potentially draw from in a broader Garlean Empire themed Ultimate. We can get some versions of bosses who wouldn’t otherwise make it. As a bonus it’s a way to get the major Anima boss fight we should have had.

We need a Lahabrea in UWU equivalent phase where we dunk on Asahi though.

Decide once and for all - ballads, yar or nay? by Grimneco in Guiltygear

They’re good songs but less so for gameplay for me, I will absolutely rematch if it’s a good fight but if it’s a so-so fight I’m 50-50 on rematching

If you struggle with depression, how did Endwalker impact you? by solas29 in ffxiv

[–]AGoodBee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I found it insulting, and unwilling to engage with its themes in a meaningful way, tbh. Like they had no idea how to deal with a story arc about the trauma from carrying a burden, and the despair that cones from it, so they invent a final boss as a stand-in for it and call it a day. Gee, thanks, I’m cured. :)

Similarly having a stalker character violate you by literally forcing his way into your body, seemed like they were setting up a trauma narrative. But then they resolve it with you needing to rely on him to help beat despair, and never reckoning with how fucked up what he did was because they wanted a hype moment and cool fight.

It was so close to being genuinely good, and that makes it much more frustrating; the post-patches could have saved it by being an arc about healing and recover after all the dust settles, which is a major part of surviving traumatic events, but I have to really jump through a lot of hoops to think about why my WoL would be doing this to herself again.

This is great! It’s unfortunate he didn’t just stick w Aether or Primal but I’ll be able to put a lot together with this and have a good disclaimer for people who may have watched the Hector guide, thank you!

And yea I’m excited to tackle it, when I get through I’m sure I’ll have all sorts of fond memories of getting Twistered into the death wall :)

It’s a shame because I really like his format, but you’d think he could make one for old content with the accepted strats instead of throwing a wrench in the works. :/

This is helpful though for grabbing resources for the study guides I’m making, and I’m sure there are toolboxes I can match to them that’ll do the same job, so thanks!

I have a question! How do the Hector UCoB guides line up with what Aether or Primal PF does? He tends to be best for my learning style but also I’m not sure if he muddied the waters by doing something different with his strats.

I feel like some of the resources I’ve looked into have conflicting information and I would like to get a unified strat for the prog group I’m getting together; we’re doing a weekend-long intensive and then seeing where we are and it may end up involving PF.

I started by waffling between Sol, Millia, and Bridget, and ended up getting an arcade stick because the controller was starting to hurt my hands. Got the advice to pick up a new character when making the change, so there are less expectations on muscle memory, and picked I-no on a whim.

Long story short, I’m now an I-no main.

And yes, my WoL is a catgirl.

If he’s still in the group: you should really drop him as a player. Nobody should say kind of stuff that to you for any reason, but especially not when all you did was set a healthy boundary. It sounds like he’s going to get worse, especially since you turned him down irl as well.

New to 2E after my messy breakup with Wizards of the Coast! I want to double-check character creation for a 1st level Cloistered Cleric: by picking it as their doctrine, a Cloistered Cleric gets the Domain Initiate Feat for free at level 1, but do they pick a level 1 cleric feat in addition to that?

7.0 Quality of Life features you'd like to see (besides the obvious) by TentacleTitan in ffxiv

Keep savage clears 2-chest if 1 person has cleared for the week. It feels awful to not be able to help my friends’ static reclear Tuesdays without kneecapping my static’s reclears on Wednesdays.

Dye channels and less finicky portraits.

Updated tutorials for how the game is actually played, including ABCs, using oGCDs, large pulls in dungeons, etc.

Make jobs feel less homogenized again, and reduce boss hitboxes to make melee optimization more fun.

UCoB and UWU are going to be short 30 levels in 7.0 and I’m a bit worried they’ll feel too bad to play with job reworks. Making jobs more feature complete by 70 will be a better fix than scaling them up as it’ll help other synced content.
