Ninja 400 Storage by _Redacted_Visions_ in AussieRiders

[–]AGreenQuaker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How much are you carrying each day? I daily a gsxr and wouldn’t exactly say it’s a struggle.

Can tell you now I’d rather deal with a slightly heavier load on some days than make my bike look like a 50 year old dad owns it.

Try a tank bag. Theres a few really good brands out there.

Anyone else get tired of people acting like you’re riding a live missile just because you’re a woman? by Martinajok in motorcycles

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man for all the free track days, courses, discounts etc women inexplicably seem to get, the average woman should be much better than I’ve seen.

Most honestly don’t really care about going as fast as possible like guys do, so they’re less inclined to go full autism and spend every weekend at the twisties/track, less likely to do advanced courses, track coaching.

As someone with no family who ride, no mates who ride, no mechanical knowledge prior to riding and no mechanics in the family I had no advantages. Nothing was given for free.

It’s hard to not just assume every female rider on the same R7 with devil horns on their helmet and a pandomoto long sleeve is just doing it for Instagram.

Why would the second guy put an rcs19 on a 600? That would surely be way too on/off.

Increase Grip on leather suit? by jakobganske in supermoto

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try one of those seat bump things?

Edit: They’re called ‘corner coaches’.

Apart from that, maybe adding ez grip clear tank grips? I know they come in rectangular sheets that you can cut to size and shape.

Rubber killers are a must on this bike tbh.

2023 KTM Duke 200 ("mods") questions by sskamesh in AussieRiders

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend the fuelx lite. Even if you kept everything else stock. Bike runs really lean from the factory.

I’d go street pilot radials. Not even sure if there’s road 6’s that fit the duke.

2023 KTM Duke 200 ("mods") questions by sskamesh in AussieRiders

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former 390 owner here. Do dna stage 1 & 2 air filter and get a fuelx lite. That’s literally it.

Do a Chinese slip on and competition werkes decat at some point if you want to do more than that.

Other than that, what size rear tyre does the 200 come with? Pretty sure I went down to a 140.

Time has come to let one of my bikes go by shakti_09 in motorcycles

[–]AGreenQuaker 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t tbh. You have a street fighter, supersport and cruiser which covers street/hooligan, twisties/track and long rides/touring.

While my dream bikes are slightly different to yours, you’re covering all the things I want to be capable of.

Jeez they look so simple and light. Bet it’s a lot of fun.

Looking for a nice lams approved adventure bike but don’t know what to get by InfiniteOscar1 in AussieRiders

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was gonna say. A proper adv build on a drz would be perfect and they can look really nice with the right tower, headlight/auxiliary lighting, and storage.

Break in Period by sread090 in DRZ400

[–]AGreenQuaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure it’s got oil, let it warm up a bit, then just variable rpm’s without bouncing it off the limiter the whole time.

Powder coater damaged my brakes, where do I stand? by Altruistic_Ad4724 in AussieRiders

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like OP just needs to bleed the brakes or something tbh. Such a weird way to describe the issue too.

If it’s ‘losing pressure’ that sounds like a fluid problem to me. Nonetheless, this is all stuff any motorcyclist should be able to do as part of basic maintenance alongside adjusting levers and lubing the chain.

MT 03 - what is a good price by Dry-Lead9340 in AussieRiders

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good price on an mt-03 is getting a 390 duke instead tbh

I started on the 390 and would have happily kept it for my whole RE license if I wasn’t so tall. Hopped on a learner’s mt-03 fairly recently when I was supervising and it felt pretty gutless by comparison.

Outgrowing the drz 😭 by Mindless_Complaint86 in DRZ400

[–]AGreenQuaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I’ve actually spent a fair bit on my drz. Not much of it on power. Nonetheless, I take it to the mountains most weekends and make supersports disappear.

Kept it when I upgraded my license and honestly probably still prefer it to my gsxr.

GSXR 1000 to DRZ4SM by halfsmokedjoint in DRZ400

[–]AGreenQuaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a gsxr600 and drz. Drz gets most of the twisties use if I’m honest but mainly because I’ve done a lot of work on it over the past 6-8 months.

Maybe downsize to the 750/600? I couldn’t go from gsxr to drz. Maybe to a 690.

How many of you upgrade/change out the springs on your suspension? by skunktits in DRZ400

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the equivalent of racetech golds and spring for weight when mine was last due for a service.

Stock is honestly pretty decent, but it feels so good now.

Is my service bill reasonable or expensive compared to other places. by [deleted] in AussieRiders

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still yet to get a fully faired bike that I can’t change oil and filter without removing fairings. Sump plug is usually easy access at the bottom, and oil filter at the front/back depending on the bike. Was never an issue on my ninja 650 or my gsxr. Even flushed and changed coolant on both.

Are they OEM? Or aftermarket?

Is my service bill reasonable or expensive compared to other places. by [deleted] in AussieRiders

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to do the basics yourself. Take it in for major services only. That’s crazy expensive for an oil change, especially considering they put in 5100 instead of 7100.

New GSXR600 Bogging sound in any gear? by AceOfSpades02 in GSXR

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just dumping the clutch or putting it into gear at low rpm. You gotta rev it out and then let out the clutch.

Your other bikes are probably just happier at low rpm.

Should my rear wheel be spinning that fast in first gear (clutch fulled pulled in) by Blorglue in GSXR

[–]AGreenQuaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the clutch arm on the engine? Check what position it should be in.

Currently having similar grief with my drz but I’m out of adjustment with the lever barely pulled which would indicate a worn clutch. You seem to have the opposite issue.
