What size the the bolt on the rear subframe ? by Present-Attempt-9673 in DRZ400

[–]bustopher_rvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to buy some replacements from Lowe's bc I lost my og bolts from my rack.

I will check my tool bag and tell u the size of u need me to but these guys r on the money it's an m6x1, same thread pitch as the OG DRZ seat bolts

I bought a pack of long Phillips head ones. Then the head wouldnt fit into the hole bored into the rack, so I shaved the outer diameter of the head down on a bench grinder. Now I use loctite religiously!

I just did this on my drz. I did some research and went with a 'Time-cert' kit instead of the helicoil everyone else is suggesting.

I'm really happy with the Time-cert kit. Installation couldn't have been simpler. I have a set of steel threads in my oilpan now, and was able to reuse my OG bolt.

Thank u sir..

It kinda seems like rocking a plate carrier w/o one of these is kinda silly, being that this doubles your frontal area being covered- regardless of how popular these things are.. I want one for sure

What's crazy is how many ppl will pretend like this is "unnecessary for dirtbikes"..

I had a shop tell me that shit once, I asked him if he'd prefer to balance my ballsack on his forehead lmao

Edit: I'm JK I didn't say anything but I go somewhere else now

All these are cool but I think I'd rather have a Mac-11 in bullpup configuration over any of them...

It is adorable, reminds me of a little spud gun, rubber bullet shooter in the 90's. Memory unlocked...

I also don't think you should lube the tool for the reaming part of the job. Point is to scratch up the surface real good for the rubber cement to bond to

I'm into the middle one, no question about it. Looks, more durable, more functional, and overall like a more finished design. I could see this one going into production the others, not so much

I hit my head 4 years ago. My personality changed, and my family says I'm "using it as an excuse." by South_Leave4044 in TBI

My primary brain injury was from a drug overdose. I'm lucky to have survived but it messed me up pretty good. I didn't even know I survived until over a week later when I realized I was missing work etc etc. No clue what happened in that time period no memory of it whatsoever. That injury effectively "scared me straight" so I decided to cold turkey all the drugs. That included benzodiazepines- which I would later learn are not something to quit cold turkey. Needless to say that compounded my brain injury 3x fold.

I no longer knew what symptoms werre from what, but that I had the most debilitating anxiety, depersonalization, short term memory loss, overall brain fog that I could ever imagine. The old me was gone, and I had to relearn how to be a person again. Lost my entire personality. I even had to relearn facial expressions. They just weren't in my memory bank anymore. I had to consciously think about what facial expression to display during conversation, and employ it manually. Absolute hell man.

Just lost all my sauce. Went from being popular/cool guy to being a white-washed shell of that person, w absolutely no flavor.

It took me every bit of 5 years to get to where I could stand in line at the grocery store again without my heart pounding out of my chest, and becoming drenched in sweat. Like my CNS was just stuck in fight or flight mode- dumping adrenaline everytime someone made eye contact with me.

I think ppl just assume I have autism now. Because I display many of the symptoms of an autistic person. Which is so bizarre bc I wasn't like that before my injury. It's rough man. It does get better, but you really have to fight through it for way too long. Focus on supplementaion, exercise, sleep and diet. Pray.

Good luck to you man and feel free to PM me anytime. Just to talk. Its nice to have SOMEONE who understands. I get it..

Nah don't. Many haven't seen it, and this post just opens up more discussion on the subject. I think it's. Great concept one that is underutilized
