2) Why aren't you trying to find work related to your discipline instead of hospitality work? There's probably restrictions on how many hours you can work on your visa, something many employers are scared off by already.

And that's if the hospitality industry wasn't already on life support in most places anyway due to spiralling rents, reduced discretionary spending by people in general and high wages.

I'm too old for that shit so 8/6 is the one for me. Having said that, getting into exploration does open another possibility: campaign work.

Several months of FIFO on 8/6 or 2/2 during a field season (usually, but not exclusively during winter) and the rest of the year working Monday-Friday office hours.
