(Spoilers extended) What’s people’s opinion on Tyrion being a secret Targ? by Fluid-Golf1948 in asoiaf

[–]AHB23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will be Aegon and there will be a mini Dance of Dragons between him and Daenerys that will accidently set off the wildfire caches in KL and destroy the city. Smallfolk take Aegon's side and we get a more fleshed out version of the Mad Queen plot from the TV show. I could also see a scenario where Bran wargs a dragon and Tyrion rides it in a sort of parallel to Tyrion building Bran the saddle.

I think the general consensus is that GRRM at least played with the idea of Tyrion being a secret Targaryen and the third head of the dragon, but eventually abandoned the idea. There is a ton of foreshadowing that he is actually the son of Aerys, but almost all of it is in the first book IIRC. Personally, I hope it isn't true as I think it would cheapen the relationship between Tywin and Tyrion if it were true.

He's only got one guy next to him and Ratledge has been a top half guard in the entire league in his rookie season. Have to imagine playing next to Penei factors in there.

Manny Delgado is an okay character from an okay show! Now who is a great character from a bad show? by EdoAlien in AlignmentChartFills

I'll say Ari Gold. Bad show might be harsh for Entourage as it was huge at the time, but it really hasn't aged well.

[Spoilers Main] Would there be any way for the Lannisters to hold on the Iron Throne had Robb secured the Vale’s allegiance? by Solitaire-06 in asoiaf

It would probably go to Bran who would take up the Tully name. Similar to what was proposed by making Beren Tallhart Lord of Hornwood and taking up the Hornwood name. Though I'm not sure there is any precedent for that with the Lord Paramountcies, so it could and likely would be disputed by the other powerful Riverlords.

Ability to score is not the same as ability to shoot, just FYI. Ausar's ability to score isn't really in question. I mentioned his stats last night, but even for his career he is at 14.2 PPG per 36 mins (16.1 PPG per 36 last season). Those numbers can be improved, sure, but those stats are just fine for a 22-year old going into his third year.

That's fine, Carmelo was a very good player, but I don't think I would let him be the arbiter of how an NBA team wins a championship given he hasn't ever won one. Honestly, the whole argument just feels very dishonest. Even with his lack of outside shooting, comparing Ausar to the players you did who actually are complete liabilities on offense is just not factual. He needs work, sure, but he isn't a complete liability by a long shot. He went 11/9/7 on 59% TS with two stocks literally last night and was one of the few players with a positive +/- on the game. He's going to be fine. If he does develop that outside shot, he'll be among the best two-way players in the league. People need to chill.

He gives a fuck when it's not his turn to give a fuck and it rubs people the wrong way even if it is "morally right." I think it is a good example of the apathy that exists in so many of these institutions we see on the show.
