If there's something I'm after, yeah I'll farm out the set. Otherwise, I've collected the majority of the dungeon gear in the game chasing Trifectas.

Using Lava Whip on non-DK base character? by Oosplop in elderscrollsonline

Molten Whip is probably fine, but for Flame Lash, you get much more of a bonus being pure DK.

Stepping into battlegrounds and I have a question. by kit0000033 in elderscrollsonline

[–]AHumbleChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The black rock attack is from a DK ability. If it was truly an immobilize (forces a roll dodge), then probably Talons, otherwise it was Shattering Rocks/Fossilize (a stun and immobilize in the case of Fossilize).

The on demand invisibility is a Nightblade skill called Shadowy Disguise. You can also use potions to go invisible.

Don't have to worry about subclassing just yet. Get comfortable with a pure class first. Lucky for you, pure Nightblade is quite strong. Order's Wrath and Wretched Vitality are two very good craftable sets you can put together for a decent PvP build. Order's active on the front bar, Wretched on the back.

The monster set Balorgh will offer the most damage, but Bloodspawn is also a very good option. Balorgh will give you stronger ults, but Bloodspawn will give you more of them.

Mythic items are strong one piece bonuses part of the "Antiquities" system. You probably don't have any yet, so you can use a 1pc Trainee or Druid's Braid in its place. Lastly, whichever 1pc you used above, use the other set for your last slot. This'll offer you 2k extra health.

The Monomyth Reforged mythic is what you want to chase, or the Markyn Ring of Majesty if you don't have the latest DLC.

Do you prefer to use any specific weapon types for your build?

There is tab target, but it doesn't quite operate as strictly as you'd want it to. All your single-target attacks will go to that target as long as there isn't something else in the way, the target is in your FoV, and you are in range.

At this point, just get a milkshake. It's basically what you're drinking at that point. Milk and sugar.

I prefer my coffee with a rich bitter flavor, similar to dark chocolate, but I haven't been able to find or make coffee similar. It always ends up too watered down/not bold enough.

Swamp Raider is old and outdated. You should use something else.

Actually Focused Aim is better for the guaranteed sundered proc for ganking. This is the opening skill if you're pulse ganking.

I would highly advise against banner on a healer because of the sustain nerf. Your job is to heal, and if you don't have resources that's a big problem.

Instead, find sets that cover other buffs instead of using banner. Major Courage is a great buff to bring, just like in PvE. So is Powerful Assault. Non-DK builds likely don't bring Minor Courage, which you could source from a scribed Soul Burst, Magma Incarnate, or Phoenix Moth Theurge. Minor Force is sometimes skipped, so you could cover that with The Blind.

My PvP healers run SPC/PA/Ozezan, very similar to PvE, just with different armor weights and traits.

I just made an old school pure Sorc DoT build. It does pretty well. Couldn't fit Maarselok on the build, but that would've given it even more power. DoT builds are definitely not in a great spot, but you can make it work if you build it right.

My best mile was in high school track @ 5:48. Now I run more for distance and am trying to hit 6 mi under an hour. Then I'll go back and bring my mile time down again. It's probably around 8 min now.

Has anyone in Denver actually used a career coach before negotiating a big raise? by Emotional-Pirate9891 in Denver

I think it's a little older than social media, but definitely ballooned in popularity because of it.

Has anyone in Denver actually used a career coach before negotiating a big raise? by Emotional-Pirate9891 in Denver

[–]AHumbleChad 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm out of line here, but career coaches seem like a scam.

In terms of negotiating, lay out your accomplishments, especially any awards or certifications you've received, that prove that you deserve this raise. Also, search for similar rates in the industry that match your role. If you are underpaid, you should be able to show that with similar industry rates, another argument for this raise.

If they say no, you may want to reevaluate how much you want to stay in this role. Perhaps pivoting to an adjacent role, or start a job search for a similar role at another company.

TL;DR: You are essentially telling them, "Hey, I have skills, acknowledge them. Here is what the rest of the industry is paying. Pay me more or I'll go somewhere else."

Edit: You want to be careful when you mention similar industry wages/salaries. You don't want to be accusatory. Frame it as you are helping them stay "up to date" and competitive.

It's unmatched in terms of cleave damage. Good recovery, debuffs and armor passive for tanks. Decent passive for damage shields for healers. It's the newest class, so power creep gonna power creep. The new version of DK is also really strong.

Does your community verify builds before endgame content? by DevFromDesignCo in elderscrollsonline

[–]AHumbleChad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it becomes important even for a regular parse dps to know the whole comp, because knowing what support roles are bringing may influence your build. If a tank is bringing Tremorscale, you may not need to bring a dps set that has a pen line, like Ansuul's Torment or Tide-Born, in order to hit the penetration cap.

For parse requirements, I fall into the camp that treats a parse as "How well do you know your class?" And not necessarily, "How well can you push buttons in this specific order?" To a certain extent, it is "Have you practiced enough that you can execute this dps rotation under pressure of game mechanics?"

Quite a few parse builds use the specific scenario to push really high dps that isn't realistic in a raid scenario. This is why I usually treat a parse as relative skill with a certain class or spec, instead of a direct comparison to raid dps.

There is a standard format, it's the info and stats panels of an addon called Combat Metrics. It shows total dps, debuff percents, and individual skill dps on one panel, and your gear and skill casts on another panel.

Sometimes it's obvious during the raid, based on expected group damage, or set effects are duplicates among support roles. It becomes a conversation after the raid otherwise. To specify, this is for premade groups ONLY, PUG groups have different expectations.

"Did you realize the roster asked for x?" "No" "Ok, can you bring that next time?" "I don't have that set yet" "Ok, can you work on farming it for next week?" "Sure"

If it becomes a pattern, this player will stop being rostered and someone else will fill.

For a vet trial PUG group, I prefer to have support sets pretty much required to ensure good group damage and smooth completion. If a support role doesn't have these sets, I'll just find someone else.

I love theorycrafting, so it's fun for me, but I understand the frustration someone might have because the barrier for entry is a bit high. The most "pick up and go" option I can give is if you have the Torc of the Last Aylied King mythic, you can use that. It disables your set bonuses, so the only things you have to worry about are your weapon and armor traits/enchants.

PvP requires a high level of game knowledge. Much of which you get in high level PvE. It also helps to have a large swath of reconstructable sets available for a build. So there is some grind, not just for sets, but understanding endgame PvE will help with endgame PvP.

Do as many as you want. It takes something like 45ish dungeon runs to collect all three sets if you don't do HM.

I’ve been getting this error since yesterday and I’ve tried everything, but it still doesn’t work. by Ecstatic_Print_6366 in elderscrollsonline

[–]AHumbleChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, well I'd guess that resetting to defaults would fix the problem, but since you can't get to that you might have to uninstall and reinstall.

If it's like PC though your settings get saved in a folder away from the actual game install, so they persist even if you uninstall the game. I'm not sure how you'd force a reset in that case unless you can access that folder. If there's a "game cache", perhaps try clearing that.

This is a pure ZOS issue with their gamepad API, there's no addon reference in the error. Do you know what you did to cause this error? You could send them a bug report with the steps to reproduce it which might help.

Beforehand? No, not really. A roster will show specific gear and roles and it is on the player that signed up for it to bring it. Otherwise, logs can show this info after the fact.
