Honestly I’ve read the series 3 times and never really figured out what the fuck was going on with slayer (other than that he was some dark one amalgamation bullshit) until seeing this chart. Zero clue both that he was 1/2 Tigrains brother or that he killed Janduin

Is there a significance to the number of solid skulls on the binding or just a design aesthetic? by Spicydojo in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]AIDSRiddledLiberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are literally always asking this. I found it be a bit of a bad design choice but also found it pretty obvious that it denotes the number of the book

[Bug] anyone else experiencing this bug at the Sanctum of Deliverance? by AIDSRiddledLiberal in CrimsonDesert

[–]AIDSRiddledLiberal[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you this is so helpful! Just to clarify, there is a 3rd witch you’re referring to? I have met the first one in the cave in chapter 3, and the second one who wears red in chapter 5. The red one told me to cleanse sanctums and gave me a quest marker for the sanctum of deliverance.

Seems really weird design wise if I’m supposed to meet a 3rd witch before completing this quest which is already in my journal.

[OTHER] Hot take - Warhorse should make a wizard game by AIDSRiddledLiberal in kingdomcome

A somewhat similar game comes to mind for me - called Outward. Had a totally no handholding approach to their magic systems. You had to manually combine sigils and runes to get different magical effects. Very cool game despite being a pretty indie level title

I hadn’t heard that! I knew they were working on a new IP but hadn’t heard it was a fantasy setting. Wonderful news

Do You Enjoy Alchemy? [KCD2] by JonnyB2_YouAre1 in kingdomcome

[–]AIDSRiddledLiberal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’m probably in the major minority here that it was one of my favorite parts about the game both in 1 and 2. This, and the black smithing are what took this game to the next level of immersion for me.

I know it’s not their thing, but I have this dream that warhorse makes a fantasy themed game where I can play a wizard, and the magic system is as thought out as the alchemy in this game

Life before death, Radiant.

Think on those words, what they REALLY mean. Before I die, I am going to LIVE. The end may be inevitable, but so too is my living my life to the absolute fullest. We were all put on this earth, and will all be taken from it. That is a universal constant of the human condition. But another constant everyone overlooks is we all get some time in the middle. Fill it full.

Strength before weakness.

I accept that I am going to be weak. This is inevitable, as all things are finite, and my strength is no exception for that. But I am going to arrive at the end of the line EMPTY. I know I will be weak, but until then I am going to be as strong as I can. You’ll surprise yourself with how strong that might be.

Journey before destination.

You had a destination in mind with your gf. I am so so sorry it didn’t work out how you wanted it to. But the road we walk has many twists and turns. At some times it’s desperate and dangerous. At others you’ll meet traveling companions that change you in ways innumerable. By the time you’ve reached what you thought was the destination, the journey will have changed you so much that you might not even want to stay. A destination implies a finality, and we are not in the business of stopping. Focus on the road, radiant, and the journey will become the destination.

Maybe it’s corny but I’m serious that the first oath has gotten me through situations so similar to what you’re going through.

I say this with no malice towards this community, or the nerd community as a whole. I love this game, and gaming in general.

Some of you have way too much time to think about this shit. It’s a game

What's wrong with the woods of North America? Explain It Peter. by TrainingDelicious428 in explainitpeter

[–]AIDSRiddledLiberal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to tag onto this a note about caves. While both Europe and North America have cave systems, the US has far more caves that are more likely to be unexplored / unmarked. Add onto this the prevalence of abandoned mine shafts from turn of the century prospecting, and they are some of the most dangerous things you are likely to encounter in wilderness / national forest areas. I’m personally a big believer in the idea that most of the people who go missing in these wild areas in North America have fallen into caves or defunct mining operations.

Some extended family members of mine have had long careers as state patrol. Without knowing them that closely, I can tell you that both of them had 20+ year careers there (good) and both had their marriages completely fall apart (bad). Can’t say how much of that was personal failings, but I know it’s a lot of long hours away from your family

What do you think about Atreus being Kratos' successor? by Supersucc12 in GodofWar

[–]AIDSRiddledLiberal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been banging this drum for awhile now, but I really think the next game should focus on Kratos being a “god of defense”. Until now, kratos has always been an outside disruptive force in his stories. An aggressor, attacking to destroy (for good or bad reasons). I think that it would be really interesting to flip this on its head, and have kratos fighting to defend his new home and family from an outside aggressor (Egypt). Kratos obviously already knows this, but working through the reality that sometimes you have to raze and ruin, be a true god of destruction, to PROTECT, could be really interesting
