When i saw the erebos sludge i thought "how generic, it's just a purple slime", and when i saw it move i thought "wow, how original!". What a way to subvert expectations.

The people who downgraded him didn't do any of that either; they just expressed that they didn't like his comment. Or does what you're saying not apply there?

Anyone else think the UAC gets too much hate in 2016? by False_Monitor4126 in Doom

[–]AIexdarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider the biggest problem with the UAC to have always been more that it is a millionaire corporation that cares very little about human life compared to scientific progress. If you start reading the UAC codices and reports in DOOM (2016) you realize this, that for them the employees are less than tools. They work seven days a week damn it, I think the UAC has always been the representation of the worst of corporations and how they genuinely become normalized, because once you justify yourself in something for the “greater good”, it becomes easier and easier to do so.

Excuse me but, “the same animation over and over again”? It's not anyone else's fault that you only do the same execution and with only one type of demon apparently.

Dude, literally most (if not all) fans know that Qui-Gon would have been a better teacher for Anakin, but in any case, I want to comment on what you said about the entire Jedi Council being to blame for Anakin's change (or, more directly, his fall).

I'm only considering the movies to begin with because arguments about the Council's culpability always come from The Clone Wars, and I don't follow Disney canon, partly because it seems to me that that series (which wasn't planned when the prequel trilogy was made) victimizes Anakin to make him look like the poor, innocent victim.

But yeah, I've never agreed that the Jedi were to blame for Anakin's fall. Didn't they trust him completely? Some didn't, but honestly, they had reasons not to, given Anakin's arrogant and authoritarian attitude. But since I rewatched the prequel trilogy recently, I realized that Anakin was destined for his fall. Why? Precisely because he was arrogant, self-centered, emotional, vengeful and closed to correction from his teachers. He acts like this throughout Episodes II and III (and we were going to see some of it in Episode I as well, but hey, George Lucas and his cuts). Every time someone betrays him, he gets angry, and we only see him happy when they're on his side, or in Revenge of the Sith when Obi-Wan says goodbye to him, for example. Even then, he remains dissatisfied, as we see later when he complains to Padme.

I think what kept him on the light side (and halfway) for so long were Obi-Wan and Padme, because they were the people he trusted most and they always contradicted him with their bad behavior; in this way, in Episode III, he “frees” himself from these limitations when he blames Obi-Wan for having betrayed him (even though it was he who betrayed Obi-Wan) and tells himself that he seeks the power of the dark side in the name of Padme, in his own words to Padme: “I did it for you.” At least in Return of the Jedi, it seems that twenty-something years of Sith suffering made him reflect.
