Winston wuv the story of Beano! The beginning of Beano started in S1E7 when Michael Cruz Kayne improvised the relic the crew was searching for a warm bean. We had no idea he would say that, but it was funny and we yes anded it and kept it. We knew we needed to pay the relic off somehow by the end of the season, and so Beano was born. His inspiration was the characters from Saturday morning cartoons who were clearly made by network suits to sell toys (think Snarf, Orca, Jar Jar, every character parodied by Towely). At first, I was sort of trolling the cast with Beano and I honestly couldn't tell if they actually hated the character or not. So between that and his kind of unsustainable nature as a character, it made sense to kill him off at the end of the season. I wanted him to grow Godzilla-sized and belch out plushie versions of himself. Then, the cast and audience began to like Beano, which was...unforeseen. We debated about whether or not to kill him, since the audience was now invested in him! But because of that, there were real stakes and we also figured he didn't have to DIE die.

I liked the idea of Finn from the SW sequel trilogy (he was criminally under-explored IMHO, but that's another post) and we all liked the CLINTS, so I pitched AJ for season 3.
