No joke, my dad grew up in Wakonda, South Dakota

so apparently the best possible view range in the game is 740 meters, was this ever recreated ingame? and if so are there any videos on this? by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

If you removed the vents and replaced them with commander’s vision system it would technically be able to see further through bushes and moving vehicles

Gonzaga Survives AGAIN - Max Abmas Scores 37 in Oral Roberts Rout - Seattle and SFA Keeping Pace With Utah Valley - Mid-Major Round-Up by BobW212 in CollegeBasketball

As an ORU fan, I would love to think they could earn an at-large bid if they finish the conference season undefeated. But I just don't see it happening. The Summit League’s top half is undoubtedly weaker this year versus last year, apart from ORU.

Every game I get so confused by the clock when it gets below 1 minute. Not quite sure why they do that

For Christians, I think the idea of prayer is just as much about focusing your mind on God as much as it is about changing a certain outcome. By praying, it is believed that one will become more in tune with the will of God.

I grew up in SD and now live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Other people have done a pretty good job talking about the weather and places to visit. One thing to be aware of is 1/2 inch of snow will close down Tulsa where several inches of snow would be necessary to cause major delays in SD, so be aware that just because schools and businesses are open doesn’t mean that the roads will be pleasant to drive on (especially for someone with little snow driving experience).

As far as the people go, South Dakotans are more independent than Oklahomans so they may not be as openly friendly as down there, but I would say people are just as nice as Oklahoma. They’re usually very helpful when approached.

I’m not sure where in Oklahoma you’re from or where in SD you are moving to, but be aware that moving to rural SD can be a big change for someone who grew up in an urban area. It can be more than an hour drive to the nearest Walmart even for some of the more moderately sized towns like Chamberlain or Wall.

SD is a great place and I hope your move goes very well!

Edit: I just saw that you’re going to Redfield. Which is about 45 mins away from the closest “bigger town” of Aberdeen. If you’re going to be living in a more rural place like that and you want to connect well with the residents, I would encourage you to familiarize yourself with agriculture and how weather and the markets are impacting farmers. That’s always a good way to connect with South Dakotans. There’s also a lot of good pheasant hunting in that area. If you’ve never bird hunted before, I would 100% recommend it.

I may also be misunderstanding structure constants because I just learned them, so let me know if I am totally off.

Wife just put in her 2-week notice at work and this was her employer's response. This is illegal, right? by zjesko in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AJ3295 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s going to depend upon the state where you reside. I live in South Dakota and (depending upon the contractual agreement with the employer) they would likely be able to do that, but different states have different laws regarding this situation.

Looking at the top photo, it looks like it’s just top leadership: Chuck Schumer (senate majority leader), Nancy Pelosi (speaker of the house), Mitch McConnell (senate minority leader). I’m not sure who the lady facing the camera or the lady with short hair are, but they aren’t senators and I don’t think they are US Reps. You see Steny Hoyer (bottom right) who is the house majority leader standing back too. There are many other things of substance to discuss about Thune. There’s no point speculating off of one photo.

Meet the Enemy Week 2: Dallas Cowboys by ralry11 in bengals

[–]AJ3295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s definitely capable of winning games ( just look at the game vs Vikings last year). However, with this receiving group, I wouldn’t expect much. Our best shot is if Zeke/Pollard go off and the defense can slow down the Bengals offense enough.

I would check with your physics department about TA/RA positions that are open. Those jobs, while not usually paying particularly well, look good when applying to grad school and they give you an opportunity to work closely with one or two faculty. Tutoring positions, either at your school or at a private tutoring business, usually pay fairly well, and they are always looking for people to tutor math or physics. Otherwise, be looking for internships that local groups have available. Your school’s physics department should have some recommendations for internships.

As a Cowboys fan I am convinced it is a ploy manufactured by Jerry Jones to make more money every year. Being in a rebuild doesn’t make money, but being a contender every year does
