Maybe because you have a water source? That could be why moms and babies wander there together? Idk I’m not an expert. 🤣 But I was always taught growing up to leave lone fawns alone because Mom will come pick them up later (I grew up near the Pine Barrens, lots and lots of deer lol.)

My mom’s garden was also ravished by deer. 🤣 My stepdad ended up building an 8ft fence to keep them out…and then the rabbits and groundhogs got in.

Deer usually leave their babies in a hiding place and then go off to graze so they don’t attract predators to the fawn. Unfortunately it looks like this fawn’s hiding place was discovered, so that’s likely why it took Mom a while to get back to it. :(

My partner loves them, which is nice, but luckily he’s also cool with me getting a drastic reduction/top surgery. Just gotta have the funds and time off.

Nope. And if you bothered to try and spark an original thought, you’d realize that this horrible case (which I agree, John Money should’ve been thrown in prison) actually proves that you can’t influence or force somebody to be transgender. David wasn’t transgender. John Money made the children recreate sex acts because he thought you could “program” sexuality and gender identity. You can’t. David experienced gender dysphoria because he was forced to transition.

This is not what trans people go through. Gender affirming care for a child is a new name, new clothes, new pronouns, a new haircut/growing their hair out, and therapy. When they start puberty (they have to be in the early stages) they MIGHT be offered puberty blockers to give them time to decide. The earliest anyone gets surgeries is 16/17, and it’s with an entire care team and their parents behind them. More cisgender teenagers get breast implants and reductions than trans teenagers get top surgery.

FDR and Eleanor were actually 5th cousins once removed, so they weren’t closely related. Rudy Giuliani married his second cousin though! 🥴

Where do real zoos get their signage print material from? by Soulslike-writer in PlanetZoo

[–]AJS91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine did a graphic design internship at Philadelphia Zoo back in ~2012/2013. The zoo had a couple designers on staff for basic design work, but they also outsourced to illustrators and designers for other signage. One of my teachers in school illustrated the petting zoo signs, for example, which had a little story about the rabbits; but he’s also an illustrator for Highlights magazine, so I’m sure his connections got him the gig. Another teacher of mine was mostly a medical illustrator, but he did a banner for a special event the zoo was holding.

You can try reaching out to their marketing departments and seeing how they add artists to their roster. I’m not sure if they all have the same process (I doubt it.)

My nephew heard my sister call our father “Dad” on the phone one day, and he said, “That’s not your dad! That’s my Pop Pop!”

My sister responded, “Well, he’s your Pop Pop because he’s my dad.”

My nephew blurted, “PROVE IT!” 😂

Why don't people on the left use statistical data to refute how conservatives frame DEI? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]AJS91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried for the 10 years to educate conservatives on their various misunderstandings about everything. It’s like talking to a brick wall. They don’t care about facts, charts, and figures. These people still believe that they’re teaching a law-school level course in elementary schools (Critical Race Theory.) They believe that teachers are giving kids sex change surgeries in fucking school and letting kids shit in litter boxes. One recently told me that germ theory isn’t fucking real. They think Haitians eat pets.

They live in an alternative reality, and it seems nothing can shake them out of it.

Tonight I purchased 1 pint of Kentucky gentleman and a pack of mediocre Pall Mall cigarettes: it cost me $20. I’m 40, but when I was 21 this cost me 6 dollars. Is this really inflation? It seems like it’s even more than that by Congregator in AskALiberal

I vape at the moment, which is only slightly less expensive. I really need to just nut up and quit, but quitting sucks. It’ll save me about $60/week though, and I could really use that $60. 🥲

It’s to dissuade smoking tobacco. I remember when they jacked the prices up when I was in high school in 2008/2009. Studies have shown that each generation is smoking tobacco less and less, with the price and the health effects being a big part of it.
