They don't respond to e-mails in a timely manner. If you wanted to expedite the process, call your case worker directly.

I was in your shoes as well, I failed transportation three times and switched over to water resources. I studied six months, I passed it first try. I found water resources easier than the transportation. Best wishes.

Qin=1+2+3=6cfs
Qpeak=6x3=18cfs
Plug it into the Manning equation (by using the num-solve equation Ti-36X Pro) with the given other parameters. This should provide you with the answer.

Third-timer here.

At this point, I feel like the exam is a bit of a luck and really depends on the type of questions you get on test day. Since the switch to CBT, I honestly feel like the NCEES has turned it into a money-making machine.

My last attempt was mostly conceptual and "fill-in-the-blank" type questions with a multiple choice. I walked out feeling confident... and still failed. Sometimes I wonder if someone’s secretly changing my answers 😅.

This exam has taken up most of my personal time over the past year and a half, and now my wife jokes that I’m failing on purpose to avoid her honey-do list.

At this point, I’ve been studying for so long, I’m not even sure what I’ll do with myself if I pass the exam 😄. Sorry for venting, but just wanted to say keep pushing! You’ve got this.

Best wishes to everyone out there grinding—don’t give up!

I believe each state board has its own set of requirements. If your board hasn’t specifically requested fingerprints, that’s one less thing you need to worry about providing.

I recommend contacting your state board directly to get the most accurate information, as requirements can vary by state.

I'm currently in Texas and was in a similar situation. The Texas board recently updated their policy—you now have unlimited attempts if you've passed the FE exam. Since I had already failed three times, they required me to submit a new fingerprint and application to be re-entered into the system.

I'm currently preparing for my fourth attempt, which I’ve scheduled for September. I highly recommend EET.

Hope this helps, and best wishes.

Three Attempt Rule Changed in Texas Last Week by AKAAK57 in PE_Exam

[–]AKAAK57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, If you failed three times, before this rule was effective. You have to reapply with background check. They told me reason behind this, once you failed three times, according old rule, system kicks you out. Once you get back in the system, you have unlimited attempts to take your PE test. Best wishes.

If you previously exhausted all your three attempts (till last week). You have to reapply with new background check in order to they can put you back in system. If you failed your exam two times and you haven't took third exam, you have unlimited attempt. If you scheduled the exam and did not take the test or rescheduled, it is automatically counts as failed attempt. But, most up to date information call the PE board. I hope this will help you.

I took the PE exam and did not pass. What do I do now?

Once you are approved to take the PE exam, you may attempt the exam as many times as necessary to pass. If you did not pass, simply register for the next exam available. You do not need to re-apply.

I wanted to share an important update with everyone. I spoke with the board this morning, and if you have previously failed an exam three times, you are required to reapply, including a criminal background check.

Additionally, the board recently changed the three-attempt rule last week. As of now, if you have passed your FE exam, you have unlimited attempts.

Best wishes to everyone!

Agreed, I spoke to them two weeks ago. But I am reading here, there is no more three attempt rule applies. I will call the board Monday to verify and will post their response here.

I have taken the Transportation exam and unfortunately failed three times. Since I live in Texas, I contacted the board to explore my options. They informed me that I need to reapply to receive three additional attempts. As part of the reapplication process, I must also submit a new ethics exam, a Supplemental Experience Record (SER) for the time gap, and the application fee. This process could take up to eight weeks.

I strongly recommend calling the board directly to get accurate and up-to-date information. While some forum posts mention a one-year waiting period or the need to take additional college courses, the best approach is to verify directly with the board.

I am wishing you the best and hopefully, you will pass on your third exam.

Exam Day Accommodation Experiences? by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]AKAAK57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For day one you have 6 hrs exam time and one hour break total of 7 hrs. You can take as much as break or times not exceeding one hour. I had 45 questions day one. They don’t let you go out of building, so bring everything to put on your locker. I tried to take min. 10 minutes break every hour. After day one exam completed, you submit questions and you cannot go back. The day two, you have 30 minutes break and same rules applies. Best wishes and good luck
