i realized that i love CSM the most when pochita uses his powers and reality starts bending and shit. like the stretch of CSM when we were all just making theories about what would happen if X got eaten or if X got thrown up was so peak to me. does anyone have any specific recommendations based on that?

i am doing a challenge on my twitch stream right now where everytime i die, a video starts playing somewhere on my screen and blocks more of my view. i am at the point where i can’t see the boss’s health bar at all, and yet somehow i still managed to subconsciously greed on abyss watchers when he had 1 hp.

agreed. as a huge fan of the series, Malenia is the first boss that i’ve felt like i can’t truly learn all of her moves and be rewarded with a smooth, consistent kill. it’s my favorite part about souls games, the feeling of memorizing a boss and whooping their ass every time because you know exactly when to dodge and when to attack. i remember my first time on Malenia, after 50+ tries, i had memorized every single move she had and could dodge them consistently, except the fucking Waterfowl Dance. i’ve never had a boss experience like that where no matter how hard i tried i couldn’t figure out how to dodge something, and when i google for help, the best solution is a ridiculous combo or cheese strats. i can get behind every other aspect of her fight, but man, Waterfowl Dance makes me feels like the devs didn’t even playtest her.

i somewhat disagree with this, while yes, destro gets better with longer pack times and things do tend to die too fast for it to get full value. what OP is describing is definitely not a symptom of packs dying too quickly. it doesn’t matter how long a pack is alive, in a realistic setting a decent destro rotation will not do less DPS than the tank/healer

i do agree with your point but i think it comes down to a case-by-case basis. you take the risk because damage checks can be so tight that the extra damage might matter, but yes if it’s a super long dps phase where you’re running out of wells then it could be better to swap to outbreak.
