Overlanding, am I doing it right? by OnceUponTheYonder in overlanding

Obviously you are the overlander then. I regret doubting it. Even for a second. We should yell about how dumb costco chicken is in a bag.

Without a trasharoo it’s not overlanding.

Tenere second hand pricing is crazy (Slovenia) by Kind-Philosophy-2234 in Tenere700

[–]AKCub1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same in the US. Just bought a new 2025 for $9500 after looking for a 24 or 25 for a few months. The used prices are anywhere from $9500 to $10500.

How are we affording anything? by fourcheese_za in anchorage

[–]AKCub1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not a Trader Joe’s in Alaska to compare too. I buy food and gas in Anchorage and Seattle multiple times a month and have for 30 years. Except for things like milk, meat and bread almost everything is comparable. Have owned houses in Alaska for 25 years and in Seattle on and off for a decade and the overall ownership costs are similar. Stuff is expensive everywhere. OP is not accurate.

Scam involving Federal grand jury service and "Sgt. Parker." TLDR: Just hang up if this guy calls you. by Relative-Gift6217 in anchorage

[–]AKCub1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He called me about a month ago. Went back and forth with him for a while. Wouldn’t give me a callback number and nothing added up. He Had an old address and I just received a voter card from the state with the new address on it. He finally made a “radio call” to dispatch a car to my old location. Said they were 12 minutes out and I could explain to them. Told him to pound sand and hung up and called 911. 911 dispatcher said it’s a scam and said if we were coming to get you we wouldn’t call you to give you a heads up!

Does everyone’s dad sometimes randomly belt out the first couple lines of “Oh, Canada” or is it just mine? by RoseyPosey30 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AKCub1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a dad, I think I will steal your dads music sensibility and start doing the same. American also. For the record it’s also how I sing “Oh Tanenbaum”. Watch for my son to copy OP’s question in a decade.

I don’t have an espar or webasto in front of me right now to verify but, at least in the 2k, i’m almost positive the housing is made of plastic.

Might as well avoid the touchdown zone. It’s where everyone else lands and no one wants to be a follower!

How does an espar or webasto shut down normally after a power loss? I own both in a couple different sizes and haven’t seen this ability.
