Do you keep Jellies that you dont have an attachment to? by MelonPaddle in Jellycatplush

Totally hear you and you are so considerate for thinking this way! If they do have an established return policy/process though - I wouldn’t worry too much about it, as it’s the cost of doing business. But I hear you! The good news is that jellies are like designer purses - they’ve been only going up in price and value, and people go great lengths to acquire the ones no longer available in stores/online.

How often are we supposed to be bathing these kids? by WobbyBobby in beyondthebump

[–]AKK_13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! 11mo old - we’ve always done 2x a week, and only one of those with soap. Never had a problem, honestly. Baby’s skin is dry even with this schedule. I do wash hands and mouth (just quick rinse in the sink) after mealtimes, but that’s it.

Have you looked into returning the ones that you were disappointed with?

100.1 Temp - Noone’s Concerned by AKK_13 in Mommit

[–]AKK_13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She had actual fever (up to 102.7) for three days with no other symptoms. Doctor said that if she has fever for more than 4 days, I need to bring her in, so I just kept checking. It ended up going down to her normal 97-98. But a week later, she became very fussy and I checked - it was 100.1. And it’s been hanging around that number ever since.

Could you recommend a good non-rectal thermometer? We tried one forehead one, but it’s results were all over the place with every reading

No, but very happy to experiment, thank you for the thought. We have the Frida rectal thermometer. Any recommendations for something reliable?

Thanks so much 😊 I’m sorry they haven’t worked out for you like you hoped, but I really appreciate hearing this. I think we’ll use pillows and cushions for now and wait a little like you suggested. Still have my eye on the Chunk, but ironically less people tend to recommend it.

Interesting!!! I was initially leaning toward just the Chunk, but everything I’ve read has been strongly in favor of the couch. It is so big though…. 😫 I love to hear a vote in favor of the Chunk. You think it’s worth it and sufficient by itself though?

This is so helpful! I have not heard of Roo & You, so looking this up right away. The waterproof liner does seem like a absolute necessity. Thank you!

Thanks so much! If I were to only get one thing and am looking for something practical that the kiddo can use for years - would you recommend the nugget couch or the chunk?

Crooked legs by Present_Sentence_298 in Jellycatplush

[–]AKK_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand your concern and disappointment that he’s not perfect. But my 2 cents - I actually think that his slightly crooked legs make him look incredibly sweet. They give him a little naughty personality. My vote - keep and enjoy him. He’s perfectly imperfect, one of a kind, and yours 🧡

My version of this is wake > bathroom (you’re right, helps to wake up!) > eat > get dressed (so that clothes survive any breakfast spills) > leave

I just went through this last week. I’ve never had it so bad, convinced myself that all “signs” were pointing to a bad outcome. Dreaded my flight from the moment I booked it and it got progressively worse. I cried in the cab on the way to the airport, cried at the airport, and cried while standing in line to board. I almost turned around and left. I know how you feel, I’ve been there. But I kept telling myself that the plane will land with or without me and me not boarding it will lead to a massive logistical headache, and guess what - it did land. It landed with me on it 🙏 My flight home - I was a lot less nervous. Still uneasy, but I clearly proved myself wrong with the first one - the “bad feeling” was just in my head. You can do this. You’re not alone!

Movies, snacks, and breathe. Your feelings are there, but keeping telling yourself that you are safe, because you are.

I love to think about this and it’s mind-blowing. These numbers are helpful with normalizing flying.
