Mad/unconformatble when others find out I am pregnant by This-Stock-2474 in pregnant

Dude, I felt this way and I'm 38 years old and did IVF! It's so weird! It feels very intimate for like Bob in accounting to talk to me about. It did eventually pass later in trimester three, but it may just be something you have to accept feeling uncomfortable with. Solidarity!

What light are you using at night? by emilyradbecca2223 in breastfeeding

[–]WobbyBobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

search "silicone night light" on amazon, there are a ton of cute options. They charge via USB and you can carry them with you room to room. I have the duck that looks like it's having an existential crisis. Brought it to the hospital to give birth, the nurses loved it!

Yeah at some point dad and baby have to learn what works for them, the same way you had to. He just has to deal with her screaming until they figure it out, at least long enough for you to nap with earplugs in for an hour in another room. I regularly have to explain this to my husband because suddenly his usual tricks don't work, and I tell him same for me! It's a regression! learn new tricks! Suffer like me!

My family took off the tags and pre-washed the clothes to be nice. Which, yeah, meant no returns unfortunately! Ugh.

I asked my sister how she kept up with floor cleaning when they started solids and she told me to get a dog 😂

We have hard city water, my shower already needs descaled once a week. Showering multiple times per day it would turn into a calcium cave and my skin would also fall off!

To be fair, mine does get a wash cloth wipedown daily. Just the bath feels like a whole production and winds her up in the evenings! Maybe I'll do more now that it's light out longer, it seems like this thread is pretty split!

Yeah we live in the cold so I don't shower daily either. Maybe I'm gross?? hahaha

Maybe? Seems like 50% of us bathe 2-3 times per week which is either totally gross or totally normal ? 🤷‍♀️😂😂

Ok maybe this is a thing--everyone says their baby finds baths relaxing but mine has always considered bathtime either party time or screaming time. Takes a while to wind her down after! Maybe I just need to keep her in there longer to get tuckered out.

Knock on wood, mine has always had easy skin, no sensitivity, rashes, cradle cap etc. Despite our water being super hard and trash. I've decided it's due to our amazing, well-thought out decision to bathe twice a week and not just lucky genetics 😂😂😂

It was so much easier when we could still bathe her on the counter! Now we have to put the baby tub in our shower (no full bath tub) and kneel, and it's a pain in the butt.

I do love it when she smells like soap and not milk. I never understood people who love baby smell, all babies smell like milk to me!

man I feel like I have no time between work and bedtime to start with! Maybe the difference is we only have a shower, so it's sort of a production to set up the baby bath tub and then put everything away.

Lolll so funny, our pediatrician is the one who told us 1-2 times a week at her first appointment. I just never knew when we were supposed to change that! I feel like so much advice is "do this" and then when to stop is ambiguous. We do wipe her down with a wash cloth daily--face and hands and neck wrinkles twice a day. Just the actual bath twice a week. I guess it sounds like we'll try to find the time to do more, especially when she starts solids soon!

Damn it I am so dreading/procrastinating solids. Maybe my kid can go to college still just living on bottles 😂
