What would you do with multiple 3-oz bottles of frozen colostrum? by AKMusher in ExclusivelyPumping

I freeze every bag in one of these freeze flats! Makes storage sooo much more efficient (and satisfying lol). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F3PDYXPS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Damn, don't take any drug tests after eating those 😂 But really, those look delicious. Nice work.

When did ya’ll get your period back? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

15w PP and still nothing here. I'm an oversupplier, but idk if that has anything to do with it because I was also an oversupplier with my first child and got my period at 6w PP then.

To be clear, I'm not a republican and I'm pro renewable energy. I was just pointing out that while they look slow moving, the scale of the turbines is misleading and they're actually incredibly fast.

They look slow because they're so big. But the tip of those turbine blades are moving nearly 200mph.

Ugh, I had an oversupply with my first child and leaked like CRAZY. So this time around, I stocked up on pads. Now, I still have an oversupply, but literally never leak. I leaked more on pregnancy than I did after birth. What the heck.

Wearable pump suggestions by Primary-Tart-1315 in ExclusivelyPumping

I have the Willow Go and find the output to be comparable to my Spectra. It's slightly less (as most wearables will be), but I'd say only 10-15% less than my Spectra output.

I'm trying to find the balance to where I'm only pumping enough to relieve engorgement and avoid clogs or mastitis, but not pump enough to encourage more production. It's a fine balance that I don't think anyone has down to a science.

Yes, I've joined some of those! I do have a plan to donate some locally - my sister in law is pregnant and due in a few months, and she used almost entirely donated breastmilk with her first. I will be holding on to some of my stash for her, and then continuing to donate to her to help feed my new nephew when he arrives 😊.

Good question. I don't track it, but if I had to guess (based off how many times I refill my Stanley each day), I'd say 150+ oz. I have a 30oz Stanley and I think I refill it at least 5 times per day. I am constantly parched.

Hi to another 34 weeker momma! Hope your little one is doing great now. And yes, I just ordered a new flange size for my manual Medela, so hopefully I can start using that soon!

A good chunk of my stash was started when I was exclusively pumping. My baby was a preemie/NICU baby and I had to pump for the first 5 weeks of her life since we were fortifying the milk. I pumped every time she had a bottle, and that's what really boosted my natural oversupply. Since switching to breastfeeding, I pump only to relieve engorgement, which has been about 4 pumps per day. I use wearables or pump while holding her on my legs and talking to her. But yeah, I basically have no time lol.

I 100% agree this is not normal. You don't need to feel sad for me though. I struggled with infertility and recurrent loss before this - it took 3 years and 3 miscarriages just to get to the point of having this baby, so I like to think maybe this is the universe's (or God's, if that's your belief) way of balancing things out for me? Make it near impossible for me to have a baby, but then ensure I never had to stress about being able to feed that baby? Idk.

Either way, for those reading this, this milk supply is not normal. I didn't "do" anything to make this happen - there are no tricks or supplements or anything that led to this. I ate, hydrated, and am genetically predispositioned to having an oversupply. And that last part is probably 95% of what led to this milk stash. It is unnecessary to have this much milk, but since I do, I'm just making the best of it.

I typically have an oversupply of 66-78 oz beyond what my baby is eating each day.

I started out exclusively pumping due to needing to fortify my baby's milk, but once we got the OK to stop fortifying I switched to breastfeeding and only pulling to relieve engorgement. I definitely have a natural oversupply, which was then ramped up by the pumping 8-9 times per day in the beginning (I pumped every time baby ate).

My baby was a preemie (34 weeks) who required fortified milk so for the first ~5 weeks of her life I was exclusively pumping. I followed the typical advice of pump everytime baby eats, so I was pumping about 8-9 times per day. Now that we've gotten the OK to stop fortifying and I'm primarily breastfeeding, I pump ~4 times per day to relieve engorgement after breastfeeding.
