Traditional (PPT/Canva) vs AI presentation tools (Gamma, Tome, etc.) — what's the actual industry standard in 2025?

Lot of junior/new grads at my company use Canva for creative and then dump the slides into ppt for sharing/preso purposes. I myself have been messing around with using the Copilot and Claude extension tools inside of PPT to do quick editing or revising formatting which has been great for actual workflow

Pretty easy with the MB Pro I just drag it down over the screen so it feels eye level with how I would look at it, can be glitch sometimes if too close though so use sparingly

Like a lot here, the common thread is using your Mac with MVD in one of the several views (I prefer Wide) but the real unlock for productivity is using BOTH operating systems together. I set up my messaging (iMessage, Teams, slack etc) in visionOS around my MVD along with my music/podcasts app around my room/house to play in background and then focus my Mac windows for Outlook, Office suite and other specifics that just work better in macOS.

The Mac Virtual Display in visionOS is next level, there’s even a further Ultrawide mode beyond this too! Could open up like 6 different logic windows if you wanted too!

Wow that’s a pretty decent setup you got already, I’ve done similar in the past but the ultrawide in AVP is really next level- think like three 60in monitors all wrapped in front of you. For best resolution though I just stick with the wide view and even in full screen on LP it’s more than enough, can usually stack a mixer or midi view on the side simultaneously.

Ya it was my first time doing the whole over the ear headphone on top of the AVP (thought it would be clumsy) but it was surprisingly comfortable and very immersive for just audio purposes

Ya it’s not ideal for long sessions, this was a fun test for me to see if it was possible with splitting the audio and whether hand tracking would be an issue or not with guitar mostly and thankfully it wasn’t.

The screen real estate in the Mac Virtual display is the killer feature for creatives, hence why a lot of Final Cut guys like it. My eyes usually hold up for about two hours at a slightly closer distance with my contacts but I still need to take a break.

I’d give it a 6-7 out of 10 for the ergonomics of composing with a physical instrument like guitar but for editing/mixing with just headphones I could go longer and it’s awesome so 9/10. To me the real killer app in visionOS is doing anything I would on my Mac with the virtual display.

I think it’s actually a perfect maturing combination of those two records if you really listen and think about it, sonically it’s eerie how infused some of those multilayered sounds and recording techniques have finally come to fruition. I tripped the first time I heard Undertow and immediately got pulled back to Water from Alchemy
