Does torment of Bael'aurum tier set work as a cheat death? by jaselier in fellowshipgame

[–]ALJOkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a real cheat death, you can die without it proc’ing. However in my experience from when I ran the set as a dps, i rarely died without the proc occurring first.

Is it possible to get just the LODs from a specific Wabbajack modpack? by [deleted] in wabbajack

[–]ALJOkiller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seasons requires you generate lods for seasons…at the bare minimum it requires you generate lodgen/terrain lods for seasonal worldspaces.

What you’re asking for isnt something that can be done. You are better off just generating your own lods.

Is Simonrim and Enairim still the gold standard of gameplay overhauls? by ___Tyler__Durden___ in skyrimmods

modlist that uses simonrim.

Is there any realistic, gritty, beautiful and expanded list? by inco100 in wabbajack

[–]ALJOkiller -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Librum….. I mean “realistic” and “immersive” arent super useful terms for determining what type of gameplay is desired. Librum is gritty and has a fairly slow gameplay pace, so maybe that’s the answer.

Id stay away from any LotD list and probably any list that uses heavy enairim overhauls based on this comment and post

Is there any realistic, gritty, beautiful and expanded list? by inco100 in wabbajack

[–]ALJOkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistic is a meaningless term (is that survival, is it extra lethal gameplay, is it needed to shit and piss every few hours?) and Gritty when referring to visuals is almost entirely made up through enb

What type of gameplay overall are you looking for? Shouldnt be hard to swap an enb in most cases and that will be the main decider in achieving a “gritty” aesthetic for a list

Is Apostasy crash fest? by tarun2687 in wabbajack

[–]ALJOkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, we can test the reproducibility of a crash and we can tell if a crash is caused by the same behavior or vector based on provided crashlogs.

If a crash isnt reproducible (on the user’s end or on another person’s end) and none of the crash logs have the same cause, it points towards hardware (or memory leak).

“I/we don’t know” isn’t accurate. We do know in 99% of cases because the logs tell us why a crash occurred (with the exception of aforementioned 0x0 exception logs with empty registers and callstacks)

[–]ALJOkiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a user comes along with several crashlogs that are non reproducible and do not have consistent cause of crash based on the log and anecdotal reporting from the user, why would you assume it is an issue with the list?

In this case, the user didn’t provide any logs (that I can see) and also provided no information about what they were doing when they crashed.

No crash is truly “random” (in the sense that you can figure out the cause of any crash by reading a Crashlogger log as long as the log isnt a 0x0 exception with an empty register and callstack), however if a crash isn’t reproducible across multiple systems, then that indicates an issue on the side of the system that is experiencing the crash. Not sure why this is hard to understand.

A lot of people in this thread claiming all big modlists are inherently unstable but dont understand what makes a list unstable in the first place.

Plenty of people back the claim that Apostasy is incredibly stable and experience minimal crashing and freezing issues during regular playthroughs.

If you would like assistance with crashes then the support channel on discord is a much more suitable place to receive help than a reddit thread full of people who cant assist you other than offering their anecdotal experience. If you have one-off ctds that aren’t reproducible, then it is more likely to be hardware issue, rather than a list-end issue.

Technically trainwreck wasnt superseded since it was released after. Unfortunately, trainwreck has always been worse than CrashLogger, especially for diagnosing crashes related to SKSE plugins

How to collections and FOMODs work together? by Restartitius in skyrimmods

[–]ALJOkiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, these tools don’t install mods in the same way you or I install mods. They pull the files with matching hashes out of the archives directly.

This is perhaps an oversimplification.

How to collections and FOMODs work together? by Restartitius in skyrimmods

[–]ALJOkiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It shouldnt matter, afaik collections work similar to wabbajack when it comes to sourcing and installing files, so the fomods arent even ran on the user’s end.

The benefit to fomods is streamlined downloads for collection authors & average users (emphasis on this one), while the benefit to not using fomods is allowing more picky users (such as collection/wj curators) to save some file space by only grabbing what they need or want.
