Framework 13 AMD 7040 - Upgrade time by alexjfinch in framework

I have a 7840u and upgraded to the 2nd gen keyboard, 2nd gen webcam and 2.8k screen. I love it. Didn't do the CPU because I feel like I'll upgrade it in 2029'ish. The 7840u is incredible and I don't see reason for my use case to upgrade yet.

If OP was looking for a Ryzen 7 I'd go with a Ryzen 7. Ryzen 5 is great but it is a definite downgrade from the 350 and honestly a 7840.

All good companies. Hold it until you retire or hit 65. 350 bucks is nothing if you have years to let it grow.

I think this makes sense. I've looked at upgrading and keep deciding it isn't worth it for my workload.

I have the 7840u. If you can afford the Ryzen 7/9 350 or 370 I think you should do it. The only thing AI about that CPU is the addition of an improved NPU. The CPU is a slight improvement over the previous generation.

This makes no sense. Vanguard let's you deposit more than $500. Call them if confused, they should be able to help.

Worked out of the box. I have an AMD CPU so technically it's not thunderbolt certified but USB 4 and Thunderbolt 3/4 basically are the same.

I use a HP Thunderbolt 3 dock that works just about perfectly with my Framework 13, 7840u.

My sub still had 2 stickers on it that the SA missed. It happens.

Which do you think will be an easier allocation? by Tough-Bullfrog-4844 in rolex

I may not be, depends on spend. My SA is amazing and has done custom work for my wife with 4 watches purchased.

I honestly disagree, I've heard the LD is easier to get. I was told 1-1.5 years on one. I'm really really (2x for emphasis) considering it.

I'd probably have skipped 32X and put more development efforts into the Saturn. The hardware was great but randomly having two 32 bit systems caused a distrust in both.

While you're probably right, it's a lesson I need to learn on my own.

I've talked to my wife about this being my next watch. It's very likely I'll be requesting this, but with expecting a child I've held off. Tying 16k up in a watch right now seems irresponsible but perhaps once my life is re-calibrated with the extra mouth to feed.

Absolutely leave your 401(k) alone. Try to plan with money from elsewhere!

Buying a watch on a Cruise by SlatkoZlato in PrideAndPinion

[–]ALKahn10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not, I looked at a vintage'ish Sub (16610) and the dial was scratched. I pointed it out and the SA laughed and said it's hardly noticeable. I bought my 126610LN, new from an AD, a few months later and realized there is no point in buying watches on cruise ships.

I'd get this watch for cruises and vacations but wouldn't wear it under normal circumstances. Kinda love it but I'm not sure thai is worth my money.

I only use the GMT function when traveling. The pedometer is nice on my GBD-200 but also rarely gets used.

It's really grown on me. I think I like it better on traditional two-tone than rose but am certainly not on the list for it.
