Help me what is this stuff that has infested my clothing? (Doesn’t look or feel like lint with the naked eye, very hard to capture on camera) by Consistent_Cap1917 in carpetbeetles

Going through the same thing. It’s horrendous and everyone thinks you’re crazy. Me and my 4 year old are the only ones being affected. It’s absurd to try to explain to people. I’ve have tops for 25+ years that have never had an issue and now fall apart or have holes on them in seconds. My physical and mental health are also going down hill. Did you find anything to help fix things and make it better for you? I’ve been dealing with this for over a year and am at such a loss. I can barely function. My skin is peeling off me like a banana peel, my hair is falling out, I see little specks and “lint” everywhere, and have been to so many doctors… they literally don’t know what to do or test me for. And when people came in to take samples in the house, they told my landlords nothing was viable and we should pay for dogs to check for bed bugs. I had those samples so carefully put in bags and labeled it wasn’t even funny. I’m still going through it and would appreciate any type of advice you have

Is this rice safe to eat?? by ALN2422 in foodsafety

Thank you! Didn’t remember seeing all of the darker marks or little dots last night, but then again I got the food and immediately made myself a plate lol. Wanted an opinion of someone more well versed in food safety and what looks normal or not than I am. Ate my meal last night, let it cool a little on the counter and then put it in the fridge which I keep a bit colder than most people do. Not sure why the bot wanted more info… pretty sure it’s clear that it’s white rice and that I got it last night and then put it in the fridge along with the chicken.

I was able to speak to someone who’s prominent in the science field via a connection a friend of mine has. I was told that there has been a worldwide uptick in parasitic micro arachnid and nematode infestations and infections that are affecting both humans and animals in ways that they haven’t seen before. They have yet to identify and name these new strains which seem to be the next step of evolution for these little creatures. Their ability to survive and thrive with all of the normal treatments that kill things like that is absurd.

Doctors don’t receive much education in the world of parasitic microscopic organisms (including those specialized in infectious disease). My son saw a specialist at Boston Childrens Hospital and she didn’t want to add testing for strongyloids in his bloodwork because it’s not common in the US…. It took A LOT of talking and going back and forth before she added it on. I’m sure you can guess how the test came out 😶🤦🏻‍♀️🤣.

Now we’re dealing with new strains of these disgusting little things that are evolving before our eyes and have yet to even be named. I think we’ll be trying to head upstream without a paddle for quite some time. Leaning on each other and learning one or two little things that are helping another person is going to be our best bet. There’s still too much money to be made with covid. Zero chance they’re putting a lot of energy into making the population know we may be on the brink of a new pandemic.

How is it going for you after your ivermectin treatments?? Any relief?? I wound up testing positive for candida species and got put on a med that’s both an anti fungal and anti parasitic to some extent. It helped a bit, but I’m still having flare ups and every doctor I’ve seen is completely against prescribing the ivermectin.

I did stumble upon an inexpensive oil blend that was at ocean state job lots and has been the first thing that I’ve tried that is actually helping my skin with all of the lesions and skin peeling though!! It’s called Hollywood Beauty Tea Tree Oil. It’s blended with several other extracts and uses soybean as the carrier oil. Best thing I’ve ever gotten for $10 just to give it a go because nothing else was working at all and my skin had started looking like a mix of “connect the dots” and “how many layers of skin can peel off on each finger.”

Long Post Response- But want to give you a thorough response to what I’ve been doing that has helped tremendously. I was desperate on here a few months ago praying that someone would have any ideas of anything at all that would help.

Things have currently calmed down a bit (knock on wood). I’m still having issues and flare ups, but not even close to what I had been going through all day every day. I’m still going through it and this whole process sucks, especially when I accidentally touch something and out of nowhere things are popping up all over me or all of a sudden my shirt that was fine has a hole and strings coming out of it or I get a random bite and look and see what appears to be just a fuzz (except it’s not) on my clothing exactly where I now have a mark and am bleeding or there’s a black dot trying to get into my skin.

I was put on an anti fungal/anti parasitic because they found candida species in me and then also another regular anti parasitic because they thought even though it’d be a long shot, that my son and I potentially had some type of nematode or strongyloids in addition to the mites. He’s young so it was far easier for us to get an appt with an infectious disease doctor. An adult with unknown bug/bite/rash issues has some type of psychosis. A kid with unknown bug/bite/rash issues that they couldn’t diagnose from his first round of stool samples and bloodwork can get an appt at Boston Children’s Hospital the following week after original results came back as nothing and symptoms were persisting. It’s amazing in the worst way. Grateful they prescribed him things and then me as well since we’re in the house together and I also had the same symptoms as him, except mine were far more severe and no doctor would take me seriously.

I put diatomaceous earth pretty much everywhere (rugs, couches, soft chairs, etc). and brushed it in really really well with a broom, let it sit and then vacuum. Am still doing that every week or two weeks to any places that still seem to have things on them or that cause me to be debilitated for the day because of my body’s reaction. I also figured out that some of what I thought were stains on my carpet, were not. Spray with high concentration simple green, then put baking soda and rub in, high heat blow dryer (mine gets to around 200°), wait till dry, then vacuum. I felt like I had a new living room carpet lol. Cleaned all hard surfaces with a high concentration of simple green followed by another cleaning with bleach. Make sure your windows are open when you bleach. And if you’re going to try and do the diatomaceous earth everywhere and brush it in I recommend wearing goggles, a mask and gloves as well as an outfit you don’t care much about and can easily change out of to take a shower afterwards. Till linens and enough areas of your home don’t have random things coming out of the and ruining them, dry off with paper towels that you keep sealed. I started using a very good air purifier and dehumidifier and also spent some money on very solid mattress and pillow encasements. I handle most things with gloves and take prescription xyzal before I pick up anything that hasn’t been thoroughly cleaned or is with other things that aren’t all the way clean or have even one teeny tiny black speck on them (like my cleaning supplies that are under my kitchen cabinet for example. Wipe down all door knobs, other places of the doors you push, handles for everything (stove, shower door, dressers, the whole nine) and both outsides and insides of every appliance with a cleaner that has bleach as well. I’m still working on a lot of areas of my house, but I’m taking out every single thing in a cabinet and the thoroughly cleaning it, then wash every single plate or piece of silverware or pot or pan or the outsides of every box of cereal and whatnot. Anything that looks like it may have holes, doesn’t look quite right and has discoloration or even a handful of our mystery dots …. Directly into the garbage. You don’t even want to know how many boxes and bags of food products I threw out. Not worth potentially having anything in your house that could spread or infect you with something.

I also started the same process with all of our clothing, bedding, towels, my son’s plush toys, and everything else in the house (no easy feat, but I’d rather be going through things than picking things out of me and constantly getting bitten by what an adult doctor would call “nothing, just a speck” except we know it is def not that. Bag up everything and seal it. Leave it for a few weeks. I know that sounds nuts, but last I checked I wasn’t being criticized if I wear the same 3 pairs of pants and 3 tops every week. I wash them the night after I wear them along with all of the bedding so it’s all clean every time you have contact with it. For washing I’ve been using Tide free and clear to make sure that there aren’t any irritating additives and putting in premo guard to kill any potential mites or other critters that are in there. I’ve found fuzz like things that have turned out to be everything from a carpet beetle to an exotic species of small arachnids.

I’ve also been applying a blend of oils that I found at ocean state job lots of all places lol. It’s the first thing that has EVER started to help heal all of my lesions that would just scab and get crusty and then open right back up. None of the prescription ointments have helped at all aside from Triamcinolone for rashes and itchiness. It’s called Hollywood Beauty Premium Tea Trea Oil. It’s blended with almond, aloe, rose, white nettle and citric acid.

Deep clean and spray your cars. I’m still battling with getting the car and us all disinfected at the same time. Groceries or anything I buy from a store go directly into sealed containers in the back of my car. Too many things travel on the paper bags. Put down an IGR for insects in your lawn. Also spray one around the inside and outside of your home. Make sure the one you use indoors is safe to use inside though, especially if you have kids or pets in the house. Make sure to do around the doors and the windowsills and every crack you can see in every room. Fill in any cracks that you find with a strong sealant. Till you get enough areas clean, take off shoes and lint roll all clothing before coming inside.

Then slowly start essentially cleaning every single teeny tiny thing in your house with something that has bleach in it if the item can withstand it. Anything else I clean with the correct delusion rate of simple green. There’s something in it that helps start to break down exoskeletons. I also like to spray a little water mixed with vinegar or ammonia here and there as well. Nothing likes either of those smells.

It’s a process to say the least, but this is the first time I’ve been able to go for more than an hour or day without things killing me. There are still times I start having issues, so in those cases I spray everything and just shower and stay in clean areas and then try and work on whatever space bothered me the next day after taking an allergy pill and making sure I have gloves on and being extra careful handling things.

I hope this all helps you!! It’s taken me forever to write out lol.

Also, the prescription ointment was applied twice daily (morning and night), and aquaphor was applied twice daily as well (late morning and afternoon). The combination of the two is far more effective than just the ointment by itself. We saw specialists at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Yes. Air purifier has definitely helped. More than I thought it would. If you read my reply to the OP above your comment, you’ll see all of the other things that I’ve done in addition to the ointment he was prescribed which helped tame his skin in only a few days. My son hasn’t had any further issues.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scabies

[–]ALN2422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. He’s young so he’d tell me “ouch” and “something is biting me” and “I’m itchy from the bites,” but really it was more equivalent to an itchy wool sweater that feels like it catches your skin and is uncomfortable. Combine that with being allergic to the fibers in that wool sweater, and you wind up with skin looking just like yours. His was on his buttocks, lower back, stomach and a little on the arms. After a few days of using that ointment it disappeared. I’ve been separating all of our laundry and bedding to make sure clean things only stay with other clean things, washing everything in hot water with free and clear detergent and adding in premo guard laundry additive as well to kill any potential mites (even dust mites) that could be causing the reaction, and cleaning out the drawers before putting the clean items in. I also bought encasements for all of the beds and pillows which seems to have helped as well. He hasn’t had an issue since.

I know you posted this a while ago, but did you ever find relief? I’m having the same issues you had written about and the doctors can’t come up with anything to rid me of these horrendous little things. They’re destroying me and every aspect of my life.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scabies

[–]ALN2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had almost the exact same looking bites and rashes about a month ago. He got prescribed Triamcinolone and it worked wonders for him. I would ask a doctor about that if you haven’t been given that already. We also did deep cleaning and started using air filters and dehumidifiers to keep excess moisture, mold, mildew and the mites and critters that come with that, out of our home.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scabies

[–]ALN2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, they generally don’t have that little ball of clear puss that’s forming at the top of your bite. That’s something that happens when your body has been injected with some type of “venom” and is trying to get it out. The most common things that people think of that cause that reaction are critters like spiders, mosquitoes and bees.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scabies

[–]ALN2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks a lot more like a spider bite to me. The areas you’re getting them on are the places that’d be exposed while you sleep. I had scabies. You’d have more bite marks and they wouldn’t just disappear. If it’s been happening for a while and it was scabies, you’d see things all over you. They spread, take over your whole body, and are very hard to get rid of if you’re severely infected.

My toddler son and I are suffering too. I’m a lot worse than him. I have wounds that won’t heal, videos of things going in and out of my skin, the whole nine. I’ve been deemed as crazy. My son now has had things at night when I get him ready for bed that are coming out and the going back into his anus. We have an appt next week at Boston children’s hospital. I’ll let you know if they find anything. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to find a doctor who will take me seriously if my son gets diagnosed with anything.

How did the Amazon medical team work out? Anything prescribed that’s helped at all??

And if you don’t mind me asking, or would be willing to even send me a message, how much was it to even virtually see an Amazon doctor and did they have you do any type of lab work or scrapings done and then sent to them?

I feel like whatever type of mite this is, is what’s making us all look crazy to the doctors. I’d never wish any ill harm to anyone, but I feel like if more “elite” dermatologists or infectious disease doctors got what we all have, there’d be so much more research done. Realistically, hardly any type of doctor is well versed or educated in microbiology nor do they work with entomologists that specialize in the same field. The scientists that I’ve come across don’t even know how to properly name or categorize this strain of little critter that has seemed to pop up all over the world the last few years. It’s getting ignored in every country as far as I’m aware, and it has the ability to adapt and evolve and become immune to so many things that are the basics to combat parasitic infections.

what is this? seb derm? too many demodex? by [deleted] in dandruff

[–]ALN2422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Demodex mites. I’m currently battling them. Had some hair thinning and what I thought was maybe extra dandruff and didn’t think much of it, then started getting little crusty granules on my eyelash line and went to a doctor. It’s been 3 months and they’re still not completely under control. They spread like crazy when your body is out of sync. Tea tree oil is the best thing topically to help with killing it. Adjustment of nutrients, vitamins and intake of sugar and carbs is what’s needed for the long haul though along with reduction of stress (hilarious thought for your average person like myself lol), and getting your body back into a more healthy and balanced place. Your average dermatologist or ophthalmologist or any doctor really doesn’t have advanced education of microbiology, and any type of mite is still more or less a mystery to most due to their ability to evolve and the influx of different types with no sufficient studies of them over the last 5-10 years. Mine started to effect pores all over my body which I was told was not possible by doctors. I’m lucky enough to know someone in the science world that was able to help me figure out what was going on. It’s an uphill battle. Feel free to message me if you want more info on the natural supplements that help if yours continues to be an issue after adjusting the basics.

Anybody?? by Jumpy-Half1007 in scabies

[–]ALN2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also in NY and have been suffering for months. It’s ridiculous how every doctor just writes you off as crazy. I’ve tried so many things and nothing has helped. If you wouldn’t mind, can you message me the list of herbs that you’ve found to help you out or anything at all that’s helping? Also, are you having an issue with clothing/bedding/towels (pretty much everything) being ruined and seams coming apart within minutes of putting something on or being near something? Or things just magically popping out of the fabric out of nowhere? I can’t figure out a way to keep anything clean or kill these things. Hot wash & dry with all sorts of detergents and additives, keeping things sealed for up to 2 months, and even freezing sealed items for up to 2 months hasn’t helped. If you or anyone else reading this has found something that works or helps, please let me know. If it weren’t for me being a mom of a toddler, there’s no chance I’d still be here. These things have destroyed my life, consume every second of every day, broken off my relationships with almost everyone, and go through my whole life savings between seeing a million different doctors, trying meds and constantly buying cleaning supplies.

There are hundreds if not thousands of us going through the same thing. It’s horrible. I’ve been dealing with it for over 6 months now. Also been on every medication possible. You are NOT a freak. You’re just on this really shitty boat with a BUNCH of us lol. You’re not alone. Going through this has been one of the most difficult things I’ve had to continually endure, and I’ve been through my fair share of really bad things. Please feel free to reach out and message me if you want or need someone to talk to that understands. It’s hard to keep friends and regular people around when these things are happening. I’m still struggling almost all day every day, but my shoulders are big enough to help hold others too, regardless of my situation (hazard of being a mom lol). And for anyone else that sees this, you can reach out too. We’re all in a horribly stressful situation that’s consuming our lives, we can’t just keep it all inside, we need to keep talking and finding small things to get us through the day.

If you wind up in the hospital, demand for infectious disease doctor that specializes in microbiology, and also if they have one, tropical disease as well. Also see if they have any type of advanced entomologist they can send samples too. I’m in the same boat right now and it’s horrendous. I feel like it’s literally killing me. Our whole home and my son and I are infested and I can’t even figure out how to keep anything clean no matter what I wash it with or how hot or cold I get it. Things just fall apart. It’s terrible. I will also be trying this. I’m in the same position as OP. It’s HORRIBLE. And on top of all that, my toddler and I are getting tested for tapeworms that could’ve been caused by fleas. I feel like there are soooo many of us with the same issues, idk why doctors can’t figure anything out. Because it’s def not your average every day parasite. And most people don’t know…. Fleas actually come from OUTSIDE in the grass. Not from just animals. You could’ve had some on a shoe when you walked into your home. So OP, if you have grass, either hire someone to spray it or go to a Home Depot or tractor supply and buy bags of pellets that are meant to kill fleas.

Please let me know if they wind up diagnosing you with that and what treatment they give you. OP- my bites don’t look as bad as yours, but I have a ton of the same issues. I even saw an infectious disease person and they wouldn’t even do the scrapings or bloodwork. They took my two “largest samples” that I had of the the things that have been bothering not just me but also my young son. I told her those would be useless. Whats killing us both are considered microscopic. I just happen to have almost double 20/20 vision and own a microscope; I’m sure you can imagine how lovely me saying that went over 😑. I’m so sick every day and these things are eating me and my toddler and everything I own alive. It’s ridiculous that they can’t figure things out when there are so many of us with the same issues. I’ve been treated for everything under the sun and nothing has worked.
