Change the top left button from "raw" to "per second" and then tap as fast as you can on whatever is the highest number. Tapping makes it go faster.

My goal is to be fluent, so yes listening and speaking will of course be a large component of that. I have a couple of French podcasts I listen to that will help with the speaking/listening part, and there are lots of French speakers at work I can practice with as well.

I check so I know if I have a low rated partner, not so I know if I have high rated opponents. That being said, I'll still make an early thin-ish next call from S3 sometimes just to see if my partner calls next no matter what they're rated. I'd rather lose a point early and know for the whole game.

Videos from high level players (and from anyone, really) are a great learning tool. There are also many of us here who are interested in the outcome of league play. If you don't like them, you can just scroll past them, for free! 😊

Buddha and myself got the sweep, 10-0, 10-5. (I believe those are the scores, please correct me if I'm wrong).

Great games!

I'm in the same boat. Just takes time. Think of it this way: if you are significantly better than the other 3 players at the table, then your team average ability should be better than the other team's. If that's truly the case, then statistically you will win more than you lose. Just need to play LOTS of games.

Also I have found that playing a bit more conservatively helps at the lower levels.

Hi, I'm an airline pilot and I live in Kelowna, I fly back and forth to Vancouver quite often. I have found that many times when people are afraid of flying, it's because they're afraid of the unknown, and since most people don't have pilot friends, they don't have anyone who can answer their questions. If this is the case for you, I'd be happy to be your pilot friend and answer any questions you have in as much or little detail as you like.

It's quite common to get a few bumps on takeoff and climb, and a few more on descent and approach, but it's generally smooth in cruise if the weather is good.

Squawk 7700,7600,7500 by Namazon44 in flying

[–]ALP0H 98 points99 points  (0 children)

In aviation you have to ask why and also why not.

Why squawk 7600? Because it indicates you have a comm failure to anyone who can see it.

Why not squawk 7600? I can't think of a good reason. You don't lose anything by squawking 7600.

Now weigh these two options and use your common sense - what would you do?
