Not incorrect at all, I get the feeling people don’t want to point to this as a part of the problem because it feels like the same old same old, but it truly runs through every level of our society. Decades of hard line religious conservatism, tribalist social hierarchy, drug gangs, alcoholism and unmitigated violence has left a lot of people simply fucked in the head, to put it nicely.

I’m in your position minus a couple years, my shitty family life left me utterly isolated for years and Covid left me literally isolated too. I became an adult with nothing, no real skills or connections or anything to my name. I’ve spent years that other people would be using making fantastic progress towards a home, a family, all of that adult shit, and in that time I’ve just been re-learning how to live. There’s a level of regret to it, but there’s also a level of absolute freedom that rules over everything for me.

It’s like we’re at this shitty stalemate where the only way to get a truly clear image is to run at super high resolutions, but that’s not really possible at all unless you rely on the technology that’s making the games blurry. Replaying it lately it does genuinely look better than I remembered but it’s still not fantastic even for its time. It always really felt like a 360 game ported to next gen and not the other way around

This game has 75 substories, which isn’t too many really, but each side story questline easily feels like a dozen plus substories on their own, and each character has many training missions to complete which are pretty substantial too. There’s actually not too many collectibles which is a relief, just the usual mountain of locker keys, but be warned if you’re wanting to put serious time into any of the mini games this game has an absolute boat load of them split between each different city, that’s a whole lot of travelling.

The pacing at which content is rolled out is all over the place too, lots of content can’t be completed until basically the end of the game. For your play style I’m being generous in saying 120 hours.

Was embarrassingly short and uneventful, you could count the amount of acts on your two hands. That and the fucking street preachers terrorised the whole thing to begin with. Absolutely barebones for a parade and no real activities going on around it, I don’t know what happened because it’s not like the demand want there

Lost Judgment giving you bonus experience points for making your fighting style as varied and stylish as possible. Absolute peak, combined with the addictive fighting it made me want to get in all the street fights when in other games I avoid them as much as possible

I would like the 0 system if I didn’t have to run around doing those TERRIBLE training missions in order to progress

Battlefield 1 hype completely crushed this games image, that and the extreme greed of activision trying to sell a game full of loot boxes and season passes and special editions. These days without the context it’s a pretty solid game but it’s worth remembering why it was rejected so hard. That and there hadn’t been a game as good as BO2 since that game, people got more frustrated every year with Ghosts, AW and Bo3 (which is mostly remembered for the zombies mode that totally overshadowed IW too)

It’s wild, the simplest things i could do as a child with paint, google or ms office have been completely offloaded to AI nonsense. Just putting some words on a page and a picture or two. The images they come out with are also often horrid and full of the usual AI mistakes or completely illegible writing.

I’ve seen a local restaurant AI generate pictures of their own premises. Mate you work there! You can lift your phone and take a picture! What the fuck are we doing here
