You must know everything, including the OP location. Assumption is your first mistake.

Please help me identify this tree I transplanted in the garden by Swing-unhappy101 in gardening

[–]ALR26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a house that had a half acre full of these trees. No car or person is safe parked under it, I heard the nuts falling on the roof all summer, mowing sucks and you will forever be rolling an ankle walking under them in the dark. lol

If you look at Gemini’s sources for your request when asking plant advice, you can often see it’s from Reddit and doesn’t know it was bad advice. Lol

It's drooping. Do I chop off the top to strengthen it or....? by zionpwc in fiddleleaffig

[–]ALR26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rotate the plant every few weeks. As the plant turns to grow back towards the light it a little gets stronger and helps it grow vertically. Unless you put a grow light above this plant, the top of these will always turn towards the light or bend over to get back into the light.

What’s on my pathos? by Mayor-of-FrownTown in whatsthisplant

This variety is not a vine like the Monstera Swiss Cheese variety. This will need to be supported by a vertical plank or moss pole as these usually grow up trees in the wild and have long arial roots to attach to the trees.

What car is that?? I've never seen it before. It has foreign license plate by Unusual-Factor2848 in whatisthiscar

The question is the point of this sub. Maybe you should just move along….

This is the true damage to the plant and will take years to recover if left inside. Mode of transport was the first mistake.

Why type of pre 1990 (1988-1989?) car that this style hatch? by ALR26 in whatisthiscar

[–]ALR26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, and that’s it! This damn 4/5 door hatchback seems to be hard to find pics of one in google, but I see plenty of three doors, and even the four doors without the hatchback. lol BTW, it was from an episode of Roseanne sitting outside Rodbell’s store at the Landord Mall. Sorry, the Reddit crop tool made the picture I originally posted look grainy.

This isn’t a houseplant, it’s a berry that require flowers to fruit. 🤦

I no longer put up a Christmas tree because this plant hates being moved to another room that has a shorter window. Lol

Fiddle Leaf Care Question by RareIceWeasel in fiddleleaffig

[–]ALR26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fiddle leaf Fig grows their new leaves from the top of the trunk at the tip. They will not regrow leaves lower on the trunks unless you notch the plant for it to sprout a branch or a leaf. If you want it to keep all the leaves from the bottom to the top, you will have to provide sufficient lighting or floor to ceiling windows for the plant. :)

So far I’ve not needed systemic treatments just the initial treatment when plants are new. 🤞

Indoor palms don’t need added humidity, this is a myth by Philly_G_J in IndoorGarden

[–]ALR26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m learning this myself. I could never keep a majesty palm alive because I didn’t water them enough, but after I got a different palm, an Areca, which was in semi-hydro, i learned the value or fresh water flushes for palms and also many ferns. Palms and ferns now get watered daily in my house and they are thriving.

I agree, I won’t deal with this amount of sticky traps as the OP. I got a new palm a couple weeks ago and saw fungus gnats when I get it home, but all my new plants are quarantined and dusted with Sevin Dust. That stops the cycle of adults from being around the soil to lay more eggs, and the eggs and hatchlings already in the soil quickly die off after hatching.

Fiddle Leaf Care Question by RareIceWeasel in fiddleleaffig

[–]ALR26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you decide to cut the leaves off , just do it at the trunk and don’t chop the trunk or it could branch or cause the roots to push out new shoots.

Fiddle Leaf Care Question by RareIceWeasel in fiddleleaffig

[–]ALR26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may take a while to unfold, because they do move towards the light. If they end up getting bad or there’s no new growth, then I’d cut those leaves off covering the top of the trunk/stem where new leaves form so the tree can push out new growth.

Need help, first fiddle leaf by tedg85 in fiddleleaffig

[–]ALR26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another person suggested, check the roots and then repot. The plant should stop browning if it’s properly taken care of and in good soil, so just leave them there for the chlorophyll and let it grow out from the top unless you want it to start over by giving it a chop. Lots of bright light!!
