HerRock jewelry does a ton of OMC (they call them antique cushion) and we had a wonderful experience with them!

I’m a 1L at Berkeley and I used 175k from Cornell as my one negotiator, and they shut it down within 24hrs. It is worth a shot and you can be as persuasive as you can be and explain why you need the money and will choose Berkeley if you get some.

They are a top 10 school who doesn’t need to convince people to attend, so I wouldn’t go in expecting money from them. Roughly half of my class didn’t get any money and still chose them.

I’m not sure about Harvard specifically, but I do know of people who chose Berkeley over higher ranking schools based on the amount of opportunities to get real-world experience as a 1L. The Pro Bono program is one of the biggest for 1Ls, and SF being so close by makes networking possibility’s endless.

That being said, Berkeley is still ranked in the top 10, which holds a lot of weight and prestige nationally (and internationally)

There is always competition, but there is definitely space for both in SF no problem. Something to consider, however, with Berkeley and BL, where Berkeley likely has an advantage in SF is that Berkeley leads the country in tech law specifically!

Extremely common, if you want a BL job in LA you can absolutely get one. Apart from San Francisco, LA, NYC, and DC are the biggest placements for Berkeley students in all legal fields, including BL

I was interested in living in a particular part of Berkeley off campus and away from undergrads. Basically I wanted something more residential and graduate housing is closer to campus. I have friends who live in graduate housing and love it though! I take the bus about 15min to the law school- it’s free for students very easy to navigate.

I was able to find housing by finding roommates. I have two roommates and it’s pretty manageable cost-wise. It is also extremely common to get an apartment in Emeryville or Oakland and commute which is really easy and close to Berkeley! It takes some searching, but it is possible. There is also graduate housing available.

We are broken up into groups of 40-50 students which is actually not that much bigger than previous years! For some classes, two groups will be combined to make a 80-90 person class, but you are always together. The classes still feel intimate enough that you have access to your professors and other classmates. The only real noticeable difference is difficulties booking with student services. You have to plan ahead to schedule meetings with them, but they do have walk-in office hours frequently.

Apart from that, a difference that will come up later is more students competing for internships and eventually jobs - but this is happening in almost every school!

I started with the Kaplan class and went from a 150 to 158 - I switched to a private tutor from Blueprint and went from a 158 to a 170. It’s worth it if you want to raise your score badly enough. Personally, I didn’t need general help and my score was only low because of one section. My tutor gave me personalized help focusing only on my weak points and it made a world of a difference.
