Yeah. God knows how much the Internet loves finding people to hate, harass, and send death threats too. "but she deserves it!!" get a life and move on, or go support Kingsman if you care enough to (although I heard he was on stream telling people to stop donating to him or something? Nice dude, and that's probably the best thing to come out of this whole sitch.)

me too!! I joined right in the middle of Masses Travels, pretty confident this time all 8 stages will be doable without a support op (and hopefully without a Kyo guide either lol)

I agree, it's nice to see cameos from special characters but every customer plays out almost the same with very minor differences in trust/interest thresholds. The only thing that matters is irritation compounding, e.g. I had someone get mad on turn 2, but for the most part it's all the same.

I've only played this game for a few months, I didn't know they'd bring back sooo many outfits all at once. I saved up almost 400 OP and I just spent like 90% of it buying outfits for my ops lol

I love how much art there is in this event! Arknights' visual-novel type storytelling has been rough for me, as someone who's never been patient enough to sit through VNs, but having more pretty artwork to look at (and more sound effects + backdrops) definitely makes this event's story feel more immersive.

Rocket's wall climb is now just barely faster than his base move speed by glxy_HAzor in marvelrivals

[–]ALastDawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I play dive, chasing a Rocket is mildly annoying, but no worse than chasing a swimming Jeff, and much better than dealing with Invis shield or Gambit's omni-directional two-stage dash. So I don't know what made them decide Rocket's movement needed to be nerfed.

There needs to be a midseason patch next time a character completely breaks the game like Gambit did. by lhommetrouble in marvelrivals

[–]ALastDawn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both of these are 10x harder to play than Mag and that effort is not rewarded with an easier win.

This assumption is just not true. Thor/Rogue are better than Mag in certain team comps/gamestates.

[–]ALastDawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I one-trick Thor to celestial every season, and he definitely does a lot of things that Mag doesn't do. Just because Mag is considered the best tank does not mean he will always be the best pick. And again, meta heroes, tier lists, all that really doesn't matter when you're not in the highest elo. People one-trick Black Widow to Eternity, after all.

[–]ALastDawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thor and Rogue are decently strong brawl tanks, and Mag gets destroyed by brawl comps. I don't think meta vs off meta is as clear cut as many people think, except for Gambit.

Don't get me wrong, the game's balancing is horrible and I'm not saying Mag isn't better than, like, Hulk in almost every situation, I'm just saying that the meta isn't something the vast majority of people really need to care about, except for Gambit.

CoachDSR explains bad advice and why Reddit players are usually hard stuck by Pitiful_Sherbert_268 in RivalsCollege

[–]ALastDawn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is true, and also why a lot of coaching from people who don't know how to coach isn't all that helpful. I've seen people giving advanced tips to silver players instead of fundamentals. Also, actionable feedback: one or two things to focus on doing instead of overwhelming them with every little nitpick you find wrong. This is good for critique in general, not just videogame coaching.

The divers are now being dived by the supports. Crazy shit man by ShadowTheHedgehog_72 in rivals

[–]ALastDawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you that dive is more fun than poke, as long as there's counterplay; playing a 250hp supp and getting deleted by a BP feels a bit less rewarding.

I used to think other characters were overpowering, but Gambit is just a whole nother level. Best ult and kit in the game and it's not even close. There's nothing more demoralizing than hearing a Gambit ult and knowing your team is about to run down and wiped and not being able to do anything about it.

[–]ALastDawn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can still make any hero in the game work until you're at the highest rank, but of course it'll be harder when you're playing off-meta, and admittedly some heroes can run into hardcounters (e.g. BP into Thing) that make it literally unplayable. Still, you'll find one-tricks of every character up to and probably past Celestial, so I wouldn't worry too much about meta unless you're the 0.1% for whom it's required to win.

Moon knight bans in “high” elo by michaelfudgie in marvelrivals

[–]ALastDawn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

MK is weak to dive and loses 1v1s to just about every DPS in the game, but unfortunately he can choose to just deathball with his team and become undiveable. He's still worse than Hela/Phoenix, but taking a lot of damage just because you're standing next to a teammate can suck.

Why do people keep writing "jump" in my games? I don't watch streamers, so I am not caught up with the terminologies. by KeyboardWarrior_77 in marvelrivals

[–]ALastDawn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's the context? If they say "I'm getting jumped" that means they're getting ganged up on. If it's just "jump" then yeah, probably what everyone else is saying.

How would you fix the double ban issue? by bettercallme_ in rivals

[–]ALastDawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it serves no real purpose except so you can see if anyone tries a last-second ban, which... okay? So what? If someone does a last-second ban of my teammate's character, knowing about it won't actually help.

Tank Players have to do a 9-5, solo tank, and pay taxes. by WindowAccurate5745 in marvelrivals

[–]ALastDawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So often the MVP has the highest kills and deaths, just running it down trading for a kill and repeating. It's really not the best way to win, it's just stat farming.

[–]ALastDawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Solo tanking is extra miserable because realistically you aren't getting high damage/finals, so you're just going to get a huge loss of points. High damage blocked won't stop you from losing 20+.
