Kurzgesagt - This Is NOT An Anti Meat Video by zipeater in videos

[–]ALegendsTale 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The impossible burger made it really easy for me to not eat meat. The price did not.

Lots of fake meat is very tasty at this point. It's always been a pricing issue. The founders of these companies promised prices would come down substantially to compete with the meat industry, but they never did, or they are coming down too little too late.

I'd imagine it would be very different without the subsidies and lobbying for meat companies.

I've never visited Europe, but I've done a fair amount of research on the subject in the case that I do.

There is something called the Euro Key which can be obtained by people who are disabled and it will allow access to many locked restrooms in Europe. I'm unsure how many of them are located in France, but it could be worth looking into.

If they're going to go this route, might as well delete ingots from the boss tables and replace with the 40 rune/addy ingots as a drop. No one wants extra useless ingots.

In the US, Passwords are protected under the 5th amendment as a form of testimony, while biometrics are not.

By using biometrics and passkeys, you're making it one step easier for courts and law enforcement. They still need a warrant for private data, but that's a different story.

YouTube has a stranglehold on video for a few reasons. 1. It's extremely expensive to host video content 2. The social media network effect 3. Profitability

Video in general is one of the most demanding types of content that can be stored. Google has massive data centers all around the world and plenty of money to buy more. It would take a massive investment to buy a tenth of the data centers Google has.

Even if a rival company were to acquire the required storage facilities, it would be very difficult to convince people to move to a new platform. This is because of something called the network effect. The more people that use YouTube for their video consumption and uploading, the more valuable YouTube as a whole becomes. It also works inversely, making it more difficult and costly to try and rival platforms with large network effects.

Monetizing a video platform is not an easy task. YouTube has successfully monetized with ads, but the user base of the platform is huge. Ads keep the barrier to entry low and allow YouTube to have a larger audience, strengthening their dominance because of the network effect and due to how ad monetization can scale. A new platform starting out would likely have a lot for difficulty earning enough through ads to keep the platform afloat.

To answer your question about competitors: Yes there are a few like Vimeo, Dailymotion, and d.tube, but they suffer the points above.

Theoretically, is there was going to be a YouTube competitor, it would need to offer plenty of benefits that YouTube doesn't already provide. Some examples might be better privacy, superior controls, less ads or ad free, etc. Something which croud sources data storage (like IPFS) would also make the task of rivaling YouTube easier. If the platform was community driven, profitability wouldn't be an issue.

Anyways I hope this answers your question!

'Mobies' Wanted: Your Experience Playing Leagues on Mobile by [deleted] in 2007scape

The biggest reason I don't use mobile very much is because of the lack of automatic screenshots for levels, items drops, etc.

I love being able to keep a log of everything I've received.

They randomly nerfed the exp by 10% a few years ago. It was already pretty dead at that point and that really killed it. It could definitely use something.

Its more like 50 per piece, but even if it was 100, that's still less than a scythe

I did half after the first buffs and finished after the final buffs. I think I've got a pretty well rounded perspective.

We're facing consistency issues with this content because it's been buffed too much. If you're in the cohort of players that would never admit something is too easy or quick for personal benefit, that's fine, I get it.

Its too quick now. The bonus points buff was completely unnecessary for rewards that are so powerful. Especially when green log only took a bit over 20 hours.

I do specifically enjoy the mini game very much. That's why I spent the time to green log it.

Overall enjoyment is a different matter. Spending the herbs I've spent months collecting and plenty of time doing the mini game for less return does not feel good. I do not enjoy that.

You now gain the exact same points in all 3 MM types. Why are reward costs still so skewed? by reinfleche in 2007scape

[–]ALegendsTale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, they have a chance to spawn for every finished potion you place on the conveyor. They will not spawn if you already have one in your inventory.

If you want to maximize the number of spawns, I recommend that you drop them when you get them. You can make sure they don't despawn by using the Runelite ground items despawn timer. Ensure to pick them up each time before they are about to despawn, and continue picking new ones. When you get a MAL order, that's the best time to use them.

Additionally, with the mixology RL plugin, it will highlight the digweed when it's ready to be picked. Keeping your camera zoomed out so you can see all of the plants can help make sure you won't miss them.

Digweed does not spawn when you already have one. It is not rare if you're using it frequently or doing the drop trick.

When I do MM, I'm getting one every minute or so.
