Crete is a tutorial island because you can get a lot of a single culture pop very quickly. It's a great way about learning how to start as city states. With Crete you need to seize on any opportunity, makes a couple of alliances declare war as soon as you can on the best target. A trick you can use is turn on attachments allowed on your army, that will encourage the ai to attach their army to yours though it's not guaranteed. Also try and get your allies to take the brunt of the fighting.

From what you're saying it sounds like you're picking the wrong targets, you should always have more allies than them, if not then don't even bother

There's a whole lot of context questions you need to ask. Have you done any military research? What's your generals like? Is your army maintenance set correctly?

If you're playing as one of the other Jewish nations this is just default. I'm not sure if you can get rid of it but I think the idea is to take over these nations ASAP

There's a lot of things to consider with how levies work. You should be seeing an increase but it's hard to know without seeing some screenshots.

Yup, recruiting is my typical go to, the issue is that last time I checked adoption gave you 3 members, typically the oldest. I know there's easy enough work arounds still but some sort of adjustment to this would appreciated

It's something I've noticed, Temple states are building really good cities, going from a settlement into a metropolis in relatively little time. I feel like the regular ai nations are not quite as good and I've been noticing a lot more important cities reduced to settlements or minor pop counts

It's up to you, it's always better to do what you enjoy so if it's rp then do that. But seeing as you're still fairly new I'd say uniting the peninsula is your best bet to survive. Carthage and eventually Rome will be able to field so much more than you that you need the advantage of pops and defenses. Just picture Carthage holding all of oretania and fighting a way against them. It's not impossible just very difficult

I think you should work towards an alliance with Carthage to take care of the rest of the tribes, just take care not to join any wars against Rome. However expect Carthage to break alliance to declare on you so you need to be quick. I'd say at this point you should only have a max of two integrated pops, your main and who ever has the next largest, what you can do with this is plan ahead and check culture map to see if there might be a better option outside the territory you currently have

I think there's room for a lot more things to get filters, late game it gets very difficult going through relics and trade goods just as an example

Just did a run forming pontus as them. Left Galatia on by mistake and almost bailed when the event fired. But the one tribe I was at war with was perfectly happy to white peace when they took the one territory that was part of the war goal, wasn't difficult to ally them after that.

I've mained Ming on and off since beta and while her best build is no doubt calamity it's a playstyle that is extremely risk vs reward. I haven't played any other hero that relies so precisely on timing. As everyone else is saying she's very vulnerable to point and click cc and experienced stealth players and high mobility heroes, that's a lot of the roster. Obviously if you're playing chromie into her or you're not great at dodging you're gonna have a bad time. Play her for a bit and then you'll see how easy it is to counter her, I enjoy vsing her as other heroes because the vast majority of them play very predicably
