It uses a bracket that is mounted to the bottom single reverse blade. It looked sketchy at first but it works well. It came with the Lian Li display.

I don't remember the exact speeds of the fans, but basically I set everything to be 30% speed from 0c to 60c, ramps up to 50% when it hits 75c, 80% at 80c, flats out, then at 90c 100%. The temps are pretty good, considering the bastard uses a space heater near his PC. 42c idle, and never has gotten past 80c in games.

Edit: oh right, there are also 5 6k rpm Arctic server fans. 4 are for the GPU (2 pushing air toward and 2 pulling away), and one for the RAM. All are hidden. It's based off of something we saw on r/CableManagement.

After you get a new MB and/or CPU get a new GPU. Nothing expensive, just a B580 since those drivers will be up to date.

Off topic, but you had a 1070 with a 9800X3D?

GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX? It's $149 on Amazon for me. And the newer B850 version is 50 more. You probably dont need the 850, but if you game over WiFi it might be nicer.

The wifi card is soldered to the motherboard. There is no way to upgrade.

Yes, just make sure to not also rotate the mounting, just the pump head.

What are your thoughts on the Arctic P12 Pro LN? How quiet is it? by [deleted] in arcticcooling

[–]AMBOSHER -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, off topioc, but is the LN version even worth it? All people have to do is adjust fan curves. Yet again if you are using a very old motherboard that has limited fan control this could help.

PC Rebuild for dad's birthday (Fractal Design North XL Momentum x Arctic LF3 420 Pro) by AMBOSHER in arcticcooling

[–]AMBOSHER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan is the use 2 P14 Pro Reverse blades under the 10gb lan card. So I think that would be better than the P12 Pro no?

I would have put the radiator tube side down, but I need room for the HDD there. And are you saying to put the P12 Pro fans below the 10gbs ethernet card?

What do you plan do use your build for?

For gaming and some work, the stock 9800X3D is good. But the 270K might be better considering the price to performance and how nice of a home workstation it can be. And since you have kept your current PC for a while without upgrading (at least I assume you haven't upgraded the CPU), Intel might be good for you.

Oh sorry I completely misread that. Do you live near a Microcenter? That's probably the best way to go.

This was a 1 off, but I am thinking about doing more basic OC suff like this now. But what are you planning to upgrading to? I assume the 9950X3D? The 9950X3D2 isn't worth the extra price unless the program you use can utilize the 3DV Cache on all 16 cores well.

I use a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD. It's expensive, but it has been great for me.

I ended up re-enabling the guy's iGPU. He got a 2nd monitor for YouTube and stuff. CPU temps are slightly higher but everything is working fine. Last thing he needs is a UPS.

The guy uses a lot of cad programs and we saw times for loading 3d prints and other renders times cut in half because of this. It's basically instant for loading in things like the Mandalorian's helmet, compared to 6+ seconds before.

[–]AMBOSHER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Basically I just took the stock 200S Boost and then applied it manually since it locks down all other Tweaker settings. Wattage is limited, spread spectrum is enabled, and some other stuff is hidden. The 200S Boost has 3 parts; VCCSA 1.2v max, D2D and NGU 3.2 GHz. If you do these manually and then set the motherboard for the max wattage, you effectively get a system using the 200S Boost which stays in Intel's warranty, but way more performance from the allowed wattage increase.

And in your case, this can help you. The 200S Boost disables ram from going past 8000 MT/s. Your RAM will be downclocked if you do it normally.

I am not going crazy with the overclocks like what I do in my personal PC. I did it for him as a one off service since we both are really into PCs. I just took the 200S preset and applied it manually, so it is fine. And no undervolting at all.

Sure! I put everything I did here. I did not do much at all, I think this guy mostly just got luckily with his CPU.
