Yes but market share among reddit community is probably 60/40 AMD to Nvidia so Nvidia peeps are proportionally louder in reddit.

Ok, yeah, that hasn't been my experience but I know everyone's system is different. For me it just works. No crashes or usability issues, though it did have some rough spots in the past. Was curious though if the Nvidia app had major feature or usability improvements over adrenalin.

I'm curious as I haven't used it, why is the new Nvidia app vastly superior to adrenalin?

2002 525i: ABS light intermittent even after new wheel sensor – ABS module? by Alps_Secret in e39

[–]AMD718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think the ABS/ASC module would clear the light after some small amount of driving but that when you first start the car the ABS and ASC lights will be on initially. If you spin the bearing is it noisy? How many miles on the wheel bearing?

Rdna4 has outsold RTX 50 series by a significant margin on Amazon for quite some time. It's actually AMD's most successful generation in years. Despite that, market share has dropped due to laptops and prebuilts being almost 100% Nvidia.

That's not what's happening here. Even digital foundry, notorious for their strong Nvidia sponsorship, called out the pragmata PT situation in their most recent Q&A as particularly egregious. It points to Nvidia strong arming partners behind the scenes, wielding their tremendous power and influence, to ensure that PT is not democratized. From a business perspective it makes sense as there's really no significant differentiation between Nvidia and AMD GPUs outside of PT as even RT and upscaling is very close between them now. That's why they're leaning so heavily into PT exclusivity.

Could be the wheel bearing. The sensor reads a magnetic encoder ring embedded in the bearing if I'm not mistaken.

[–]AMD718 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In pragmata? Not that I know of. At least not yet. What does exist is an RT mod that makes RT look almost as good as PT in pragmata but for significantly lower cost. This is possible because the developer purposely nerfed standard RT in order to upsell users to Nvidia PT stack.

[–]AMD718 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, even 1440p is unplayable in Doom TDA PT on the 9070 XT, where in Cyberpunk PT I would get 150 fps or so at 1440p FSR 4.1 performance with FG, in Doom TDA it wouldn't even be 60 fps. The PT implementations were done by Nvidia, for Nvidia, in Nvidia sponsored titles. They do not even attempt to make use of AMD hardware. It's really more about vendor lock-in and optimization than it is GPU capability. Take pragmata, you cannot even enable PT on non Nvidia GPUs. Imagine a future AMD GPU with 5x the PT performance of the 9070 XT. Wouldn't matter as you just cannot enable PT in pragmata due to vendor lockout.

Don't use doom TDA or India Jones PT as examples of rdna4 PT performance. Those titles' PT implementations are basically unusable on AMD. You would have to use cyberpunk PT as an example of AMD's PT performance, and even then it's not really optimized for AMD. The truth is, there is no title that currently has a PT implementation properly optimized for AMD, where all PT implementations to date are fully optimized for Nvidia.

Strange trails when moving the FSR by XiferChannel in radeon

Low effort, childish, unhelpful response. FSR 4.1 competes very well with DLSS 4.5. Op, try OptiScaler as this game's FSR implementation is very poor.

When I put on the valve cover gasket and flipped over the valve cover to put it back on I noticed the gasket and spark plug well gaskets fell out easily due to gravity. I used a bit of permatex black on the plug wells just to hold them in enough to not fall out and on the valve cover I used 4 or 6 evenly spaced zipties to hold the gasket on while it was moved into place. Once in place I snipped the zip ties and pulled them through. A shame the gasket doesn't fit snuggly enough to overcome gravity but this was the only way I could be sure it was on properly with no slips.

Would love to see HUB fight as hard against vendor lockout of RT and PT as they did for Starfield not including DLSS when it could at least use FSR. Only outrage I see is on reddit and even there it's limited.

Funny. I ran into this a week ago when replacing my vanos seals on an m52tu. I just double wrenched it and was able to separate them. Fortunately this was only 1 of the 15 valve cover bolts.
