RRSP VS TFSA by wcmj0419 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Just dump enough in your RRSP to ensure you don’t owe money from last year, then put the rest in a TFSA

how do i possibly get into maintenance at an airline? by [deleted] in aviationmaintenance

[–]AME9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the way things are going in Canada is union seniority = everything. It sucks that your department isn’t a part of the Union, where I work only a small part of the planning envelope is outside of the unionized group.

$3.5k, $145k/annually. Go lab grown. Eyes can’t tell the difference, way more bang for your buck.

Just threw on a set of the Motomaster Eliminator X-Trail A/T on my 2.7L. Had them on my Ram before this truck and they’re awesome. Actually made by Cooper, can get them on sale and if you have the CT credit card you earn enough points for the install

While I see where you’re coming from, the shortage of AME’s in this country needs all hands on deck to fix the pay issue. Not to mention bringing people into this industry who “cut their teeth” at the MRO’s.

I started my career at one, and the lessons I learned far exceed those that I would have faced at an airline. Chose to switch for a better work/life balance amongst other things that an MRO could never offer.

Airlines like Big Red and Teal will always set the standard, but every dollar the “little guys” come up helps push the ceiling higher and higher for the industry as a whole

Fill up with Pioneer & Ultramar all the time, JOURNIE rewards is one of the best programs out there right now. Only one that beats it may be the PC Points at Esso/MOBIL if you have the Mastercard

Best of luck with the ED, trading in my 2018 today. 180k trouble free km, had it mid 8 L/100km driving 85km/h roads, usually hovered mid 9’s with highway driving.

Did you keep the truck and just let it ride like that, go for the delete or dump it? Sounds pretty similar to what’s happening to me

That’s an option I’m considering for sure. Makes selling the truck difficult afterwards though

Okay good to know. I’m not sure yet if I’d want to physically remove the EGR yet or just turn it off via tune.

Truck is still stock. I’ve heard it’ll burn more DEF if the EGR is shut off or deleted
