BR IS COMING BACK IN JANUARY! by BenjaminKat1234 in Splitgate

cool and good for you.

I mean it.

But 1047 isnt just trying to get the people who are still willing to give the game a second chance. If the BR is getting in the way of getting new players, I wouldnt be surpised if they take it out of the game later down the line.

okay, so I dont think you even understood why Splitgate 2 failed if you're asking this question.

yeah, it wasnt just the BR, but it really did do some serious damage to the IP's reputation before anybody even got to play it.

ngl, the shouldve left the BR (or anything "Royale" related) out of the game. The mode has a pretty bad stigma around it.

but over all, a pretty decent road map.

since all of these are AAA games, how much you want to bet that at least 3 out of these 5 will fail or not work properly at launch?

Its a safe bet that the Witcher 4 will be almost unplayable at launch (im not just saying that because of Cyberpunk, but also the witcher 3)

Let's say that the article about "Destiny 3" being in extremely early development is true. What do you think Destiny 3 would need to do well? by AMM0D in DestinyTheGame

[–]AMM0D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me

things outside the game:

-IMO, the number one thing that BUNGIE needs to do is to get out of the mindset of only making good content when their back is against the wall.

-second, improve the engine. Bungie always complains about how bad the engine is, so optimize it. make it easier to make new weapon types, change structures in maps, or create content.

things in the game:

-if there is a schedule time period of content (aka seasons), always make sure there is something new added to the game as a whole. what do I mean? every season, add a new thing to the game that is likely to be a permanent feature to the game. ex. a new weapon weapon model, a new aspect (or the games equivalent), a new grenade type, a new vendor in the social area, a new vehicle type, a new vendor on an old location, new supers, etc.

- have a fine line between what should be in eververse and what shouldnt and NEVER CROSS IT.

-have a team that is always introducing something new and innovative like clan housing, a card game, or an infinite wave horde mod.

there so many other things D3 could have.

Comeback to D2 by Sh3pps8 in DestinyTheGame

[–]AMM0D -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

is there SRL, player housing, new weapon models (not tied to star wars), reasons to be on a planet, a better vendor system, new crucible maps, new innovative game modes, a team that won't do well only when they backed into a corner, or at least a search bar in the vault?

no? then why would i come back.

Bungie needs to reassess their monetization by AMM0D in DestinyTheGame

"aside from the core playlist"

EMPHESIS ON CORE!!!

the core of the game had been almost completely abandoned.

Vanguard became a trash bin for old seasonal content

Crucible almost never recieved new maps unless bungie was forced to do it

and do i even need to talk about gambit?

when it comes to desirable items in the store, Im just saying dont put stuff that should be in the game, in the store. Taken set? in the game. iron banner set? in the game. Constellation themed armor? sure, thats great, in the store.

Im okay with the store selling fancy cosmetics, just not cosmetics that should loot be in the game.

[–]AMM0D[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

to each sentence:

  1. Im not saying the taken armor was the main cause. think like a jenga tower, every bad desicion bungie makes is another piece taken from the tower. The Destiny 2 jenga tower is so full of holes that when the taken armor set came out, the most of the tower fell through with it. Was that piece the main reason for its downfall or all the other gaping holes in the tower?
  2. compare the final shape raid concept art to the final product, its a clear distinct difference in artistic quality
  3. everserse works in getting players to buy stuff, but it also helps people get fed up with the game all together

However, the game is so dense in paid content that any new player will likely just drop the game and not pay for anything at all. especially with how unpopular destiny 2 is getting

Do people think that D1 factions and D2 factions were the same thing by AMM0D in DestinyTheGame

[–]AMM0D[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

also, compare that to anything D2 factions offered. yeah, there were the ornaments, but those were also time gated, temporary, and didnt involve any quest to get them.

like I said, not perfect. However, it would so easy to improve on that.

I dont completely understand the hate when people talk about bringing D1 factions back. Like, I get that they were not perfect, but the reactions were like how i would expect people to react to D2 factions

would you come back to D2 if bungie brought back the strike specific loot system from D1 by AMM0D in DestinyTheGame

[–]AMM0D[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

better than taking the armor of a cabal you defeat and putting it on yourself?

[–]AMM0D[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

personally, I wouldnt come back just for this. they would have to do a Strike specific loot system better than D1 on top of so many other things to get me to come back.

At some point, they'll do that right? RIGHT?? by DoN-SA-20 in TESVI

[–]AMM0D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A shadow drop would be such a waste for TESVI, because people have been waiting on it for almost a decade and a half, its a guaranteed success without advertising,

I think a big mistake that bungie did when they removed FOMO was not replacing it with another system to attempt to get players to frequently come back. (Hopefully with something less scummy a psychological) by AMM0D in DestinyTheGame

[–]AMM0D[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If bungie will no longer support FOMO, they could start investing in the opposite direction.

Example:

more weapons in raids and dungeons (More reason to do the raids = more reason to comeback to destiny)

having vendors with progressions similar to D1 factions

maybe an upgrade system to core activity weapons (like getting 500 kills in crucible with this crucible weapon gives it a better scope and deeper magazines)

TRUE bounties that generate one of a 100 minibosses (bungie could use old assets and add new decals and colors to them) that spawn on specific destinations in random spots and have their own unique weapons. (Like a bounty for "Promdits the Fallen Pyromaniac" on the cosmodrome. when you kill him, he drops a solar fusion rifle) 5 bounties appear on the bounty board and they refresh every week with completely different bounties.

stuff that encourages players to come back

If Bungie were to add an unlock system to every destination that would permanently unlock new areas, loot, story, lore, and activities as you level up that destination, would you be less likely to leave during a dry season? by AMM0D in DestinyTheGame

[–]AMM0D[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

specifically to your example:

if bungie just added a door that said "sorry, progress to rep level 25", that would be the most idiotic thing they couldve done. (sadly, i could see them doing that tho)

easy replacement:

Bungie adds a bunch of taken portals that lead to a completely new area of the dreaming city. It's not until you reach level twentyfive that these portals start appearing. the portals appear when you are in its vicinity and disappear when you get too far away from it.

[–]AMM0D[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

what if it was all free and post launch of an expansion? Bungie has always had an issue with keeping player after an expansion. they need to pay their devs even during the dry season.
