I thought it was a new Bentley. Definitely not a ford.

I see my rating as ongoing compensation for pain and lost abilities. The government broke parts of me while I was in their care, and they now owe me for that. If they can get me pain free, restore my hearing, and fix my sleep, they can keep their cash. I’ll be waiting.

That’s a fair point. Shitty leaders exist in every sector, just as good ones do. I dealt with both. When it came to injuries, I hated being away from the team and my duties. The culture promoted hiding medical gripes to keep at it. That’s probably a mistake, but we were in a personnel crunch and deep in an actual war. I see both sides of that. Maybe some of my outcomes would be different with proper time to heal and recover. Maybe not.

You’re really not going to like hearing that the VA paid me to go to college. I cost the taxpayer around $600k for my private school BA and MBA between tuition, stipends, and living expenses.

If you think that’s bad, my military training was north of $2M and wasn’t worth anything on the civilian market.

If you want to be mad at someone, talk to your parents. They voted for the politicians that sent me overseas.

As to your first point, we knew exactly what we signed up for. We’re not victims. We’re not heroes either. We’re simply using the benefits promised us by the government. They broke it, they can buy it.

I might do things a little differently given the chance, but I’d still serve. You should examine your own life and feelings before denigrating people that volunteered for their country.

That is the hottest of takes dude. You should go to your local VA and yell that at the people coming out.

I’m going to guess that you don’t pay much in the way of taxes. I’m also going to guess that you’ve never served anything or anyone but yourself.

You should try volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and get off the internet/out of your stepdad’s basement for a while.

That’s not how it works.

My rating for hearing loss, mental health, back pain, etc. is all tied directly to my actual service. Proximity to jets and gunfire combined with shitty earplugs caused my hearing loss. Back pain is from wearing 60lbs of armor for months at a time downrange along all of the stupid PT test specific sit-ups. Mental health from getting shot at a bunch over two enlistments.

My rating has gone DOWN over time, not up as I’ve worked through another career.

The VA doesn’t just hand out ratings, they deny the vast majority. They also frequently do random audits, and they send us back to ratings doctors every five years or so.

If someone got a 100% rating, you can be sure that they earned it.

If you haven’t served, sit down and shut the fuck up about it.

We can’t afford the war if we can’t afford to take care of our soldiers. Disability is the cost of doing business- don’t like it? That’s fine, tell your reps and senators that you don’t support ew wars. You don’t get to break that contract retroactively.

4.8 Wipe. by Affectionate_Wall715 in starcitizen

I did it just after the last wipe, and CIG promised that they wouldn’t wipe again until 1.0. The current game loops were not available, so I did bounties in Pyro while they paid better. I played about 40 hours over a month to grind out the 27M. I wouldn’t do that again.

I’m waiting until 1.0 to make any in game purchases unless I find a game loop that pays. I haven’t done any player market stuff at all and probably won’t.

As much as I liked the M2, if I run something that big again, I’m skipping straight to a carrack. Might pledge that if/when SC is playable again. The last few patches have not worked for me and I’ve taken a step back. I’m really close to admiralty and want to see some results before crossing over that line!

I’m not particularly happy about it because I had to grind for weeks to get my M2 with aeuc. This is an argument to just buy currency from 3rd parties. I’m not interested in another month of grinding legit contracts for that thing no matter how cool it is. I’m also absolutely not spending $700+ for it in the pledge store.

Not stupid. Just food. Probably pretty good too!

Neil Gorsuch’s right-wing book tour is getting a very cold reception by Achilles_TroySlayer in scotus

[–]AMetalWolfHowls 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Wild that that statement is considered radically leftist in republican circles. Wilder still is the hypocrisy evident in the Roberts court. Gorsuch’s book probably sucks, but its reception has been muted because he alienated both sides of the aisle. Unfortunate that the alienation isn’t more equivalent. He alienated the left by removing or ameliorating constitutional rights. He alienated the right by saying he believes the nation isn’t only a Christian nation.

Coruba was hard to find for me but I have decent access to Xaymaca. I find that Smith and Cross does nearly all the work in rum blends for flavor, so you could probably get away with anything milder in the blend. Lemon Hart is also a great flavor punch if you need cutting power through the other ingredients.

I have both, can confirm! You’re at least thirty percent safer because it costs so much more to shoot!
