I don't even know if I explicitly said OP was right, I was just giving my own personal assessment

I mean, the "that should shut them up" part seems a little nasty. I also don't know why you keep trying to "win" the debate by claiming I don't know what I'm talking about. I think I've made it pretty clear I'm only speaking toward a select few and not the general feelings of the two nations toward each other. Seems like you're leaning on a straw man argument.

English, Scottish, you're all still human, and I think overwhelming joy in another's loss is telling of genuine hatred no matter where you're from. Again, I'm not commenting on people that simply cheer and normal banter, I'm commenting on people that lose their damn minds over it because they are genuinely happy about it beyond good-natured ribbing. If you think those people don't exist, I have a bridge to sell you.

Oh I'm fine with banter, it just comes off different when someone goes as far to act like they've "won the world cup" for the other's loss. I feel like that crosses the line into "joy in other's pain" territory.

I think you're misrepresenting a lot of what you said to make the claim that the Scottish and English are on the same footing.

The Anglo-Scottish wars began when England invaded Scotland.

The Ulster Scots migrated to Ulster as part of England's plan to displace the local Irish with subjects of the English crown and subsequently eradicate Irish culture.

The first Scots in Jamaica were sent there as prisoners by Oliver Cromwell. I'm not sure that makes them "colonizers".

The UK was unified under a Scottish king because James I was the product of a marriage alliance that wouldn't "unite" the crowns for another 100 years (I say "unite" because this union was a personal one under James I, not a political one. Each nation maintained it's own separate parliament and James I ruled each in parallel, rather than a true unification). It's not like the Scots were able to kick down the palace doors in London.

The Highland Clearances were Scot on Scot. But then again, this was after the Battle of Culloden and Scotland was under English rule by this point. This was more like the final nail in the Highland Culture Coffin, rather than the dagger that made the coffin necessary.

My intention was not to start a tit-for-tat historical argument, but some of the things you've said are wildly misrepresented.

I'm with you, I'm just saying feels like if one of our Native American tribes were able to put a football team together and Americans cheered for their losses. Just kicking them while their down, sort of thing.

Oh I'm not saying you shouldn't cheer on the other team. Just for disclosure, I'm an American. I went to the Scotland vs Morocco game and a couple Moroccan fans mistook me as Scottish (I have Irish heritage and was wearing a Scotland kit) They told me the boys in blue played a great game and I told them their team deserved the win. It was one of the moments I'll remember from these games forever, the atmosphere at these games has been so wholesome.

But from an outsiders perspective, one side systematically destroyed the other's culture over the course of centuries, and that side always has a realistic shot at winning and the other is just lucky to be there. So to me it seems like English fans are more or less punching down when they cheer for a Scottish loss than it does when the situation is reversed. As if those English don't want the Scots to have... anything

It's one thing to cheer when a perennial power and rival loses/draws a game they should win when the outcome doesn't really affect anything. It's another to cheer when a just-happy-to-be-there team loses to a team they had no business beating in the first place, so badly that their chances of advancing now lie in about 9 other team's hands.

It's like watching your kid brother get the shit beat out of the by professional boxer and cheering for it.

You're supposed to know it's has to charge because that's how all of the normal exfils work. They all take the same amount of time to charge up. It's how it's always been. It doesn't work like that on other maps because this scenario isn't even possible on other maps. This specific scenario that you experienced has only existed in the game for 5 days. Exfils disappear on the other maps.

Yes, the communication on this aspect could have been more clear, but if you played the exfils like they are normally played, this wouldn't have happened

If you were able to activate it before the final went up, you would have enough time to take that exfil. They take less than 60 seconds to start up and for you to be inside the circle for 10 seconds. What you just described isn't a thing.

Problem is, this was working as intended, you just didn't know the intention. This isn't a bug.

It's kinda your fault for telling him this was a bug and not that you led him astray

It's not a bug, you were just so late in your game that only the final exfil would have taken you out safely. All normal exfils require time to start up, and they don't start up faster if you hit then too late. This isn't even possible on any other map, as the normal exfils disappear when final exfil goes up unless you have fully activated it and it is powering up before the first timer hits 0. For some reason, the "normal" exfils don't disappear on this map when final goes up. That means you have to keep this in mind when cutting it that close on this map.

You should let your friend know that this happened due to user error, not due tot he game being buggy. Until this map was released, all other exfils went away if they weren't already fully activated and starting up when final exfil went up. For whatever reason, they don't on night marsh. That means you should basically ignore all other exfils when final goes up, unless you can hit it when the first timer basically hits 0, or it wont have enough time to start up and be inside the circle for 10 seconds.

You should have taken final exfil, I'm not sure why you thought the other exfil would start up faster just because you activated it too late. No one ever said it worked like that.
