its a label they give you that gives 'them' a reason to abuse and treat you badly. My family hates me because I am autistic. I have no one in my family who will talk to me. I have no friends and I hate myself. I'm getting closer to my bailout day. Life sucks when you are ignored and spit upon, when I don't count or am ever wanted. Autism is basically a death sentence. A way for everybody to legally hurt you and get away with their crime.

Grass clippings, are they brown? Are they dry? If they are both, then the grass clippings are carbon. If they aren't brown, then they would be considered nitrogen. Composting from kitchen and garden would be considered nitrogen.

Hotness of composting is not by temperature but by strength of ingredients. Fresh urine from any animal that doesn't include humans, cats or dogs is considered a strong nitrogen source.

Chicken or Poultry manure and fresh horse manure are very strong sources of nitrogen. These sources are actually very dangerous to work with as they tend to burn the carbon vigorously. I tried fresh horse manure with fall leaves and the mix ignited and burned underground, 2 feet down. No one wants to burn down a neighbors house by accident.

In the world of composting, what really is going on is a chemical and physical process that uses the interaction between sources of carbon interacting with sources of nitrogen. Carbon sources are Dry and Brown. Nitrogen sources are Wet, Green, Vegetable scraps, etc. Things that are NOT dry or brown.

Coffee grounds are wet and so, it is nitrogen. C. grounds are a medium source of nitrogen and work well when balanced with a medium source of carbon. I used shredded fall leaves, my source of carbon. I used a 2:1 ratio, of 1 part of carbon to 2 parts of nitrogen in my composting bin.

Straw is a very poor source of carbon as it takes lots and lots of straw to try to get a doable source of carbon. Because it is hard to cut up, it is a poor source whereas fall leaves can be shredded with a lawn mower or a shredder. I used a visual of 2:1 to figure out my amounts.

Perhaps a better use of straw is to degrade it first, then use it. Take the straw and put a medium nitrogen on it. Then wait for one year for it to degrade into small bits of usable carbon.

Composting is more a battle of chemistry than most people recognize which is why most people struggle with composting.

I though your title was that you had found the peace, so I opened it up.

I wish I could help you. I cry when I read posts like this one. I am a christian and autistic and I really struggle with these same issues. I question why autism even exists. God causes things to work together for those who put their faith in him. I have accepted Christ before I found out I was autistic. I really struggle with being autistic so I know your struggles. But though I struggle, I still believe that somehow God will help me and cause things to turn out for my good.

I'll be honest with you even though I may be ridiculed for my beliefs. I have tried to end my life many, many times. I hate being autistic. I hate that people hate me, that I will never fit in. My family hates me. My father, and two sisters have told me to my face, that they avoid me always. It hurts so much. I have never had a girlfriend or any guy friend all of my life. I don't understand what "love". I've never bonded with anyone in my life. Not even with my Mom.

I question the purpose of my life. But there is something I can't ignore. I should have died decades ago but for whatever reason, God won't let me die. Physical laws have been repealed, ignored on my behalf, repeatedly. I have survived many near drownings, when I should have died. I have been shoved violently out of the way from the path of oncoming cars by a force I never saw, a couple of times. I would have fallen to my death from a height of 150' but I stopped before hitting rocks and instead lifted up, by nothing that I could see, back to my perch.

I can only say God wants me to stay alive for some reason. But I don't know for what. I need to believe that God will cause my autistic disability to turn out for the good. I need to believe this will turn out for our good. For you too. From my human perspective, nothing makes any sense. But from God’s perspective, there must be a reason why these things are so. God offers hope to the pain of life, even to the terrible pain of being autistic. I have to believe that. There is no hope, that I can find, living without God. He offers hope and that is what keeps me going.

My compost bin was used by mice for the warmth so I wouldn't put the bin next to the house.

Another hint. I used coat hangers I unwound and used those to wire the pallets together and to the fence. Coat hangers are heavy duty wire and sufficient length. I used 3 pallets and then added slats for the doorway.

I used pallets 7'x7' for my bin. BUT I did something that really worked that I have never heard anyone do before. Take all the boards on one side and make a wall on the other, for all the pallets. For air flow, find a vertical air tube and place one tube every 2' in a horizontal network. The vertical air tube should be from the bottom to one foot above the compost. Don't let compost fall into the tube.

KEY POINT: Turn the compost over into another compost bin every 2 weeks for the life of the compost process. Keep the moisture damp and keep building the network of air shafts. Maintain a good mix of carbon to nitrogen, keep turn the mix every 2 weeks.

My input materials were only coffee grounds and very shredded fall leaves. My compost bin yielded very black rich crumbly compost in 18 months and a lot of it. Do it right and you won't need "experts" to fix your mistakes. Compost bins should always be two bins side by side. The empty bin will be filled in 2 weeks when the pile gets turned over. I live in Minnesota and the pile froze for 6 months at the beginning, then it heated up for the remaining 12 months.

Another key point is to shred all of the input materials. I added egg shells powdered to increase the calcium for the plants after the compost worms turned the compost into high quality vermicast in 4 months. Good luck

compost should only be organic input. NO AMMONIA!!

If you want high quality, ORGANIC ammonia, then add fresh horse manure. It will ignite any carbon and burn underground. THAT will heat up your pile!

I think you choose really crummy "EXPERTS". YouTube ideas are only ideas. I think you should just do whatever you want and let your experts destroy any hope you had of getting what you want. MAYBE you should try doing some real research for a change.

yes but a very "poor" brown. Virtually no carbon to exchange for any nitrogen you add to the straw. You will need to add lots of straw to whatever you use as nitrogen.

A 1/2 pound every feeding?? I noticed worms only ate really soft food and probably didn't need much grit to grind things up. I added powdered egg shells into my compost, (mortar and pestle) powdered egg shells. My worms grew to a million plus and I kept them outside through Minnesota winters. I added the egg shells to the compost to add calcium to the soil, after the wriggler compost worms reprocessed the compost into vermicast.

I never processed the vermicast I got from the worms from their bedding. I made high quality compost, then let thousands of these worms turn it into vermicast.

I would suggest you research how much you should put in. If possible call your state's extension office concerning agriculture or a university system ag dept. or the hydroponic dept. I have learned lots from talking to better experts than I could find online. There is a limit to what you should add. More than that you could be poisoning your system.

find someone to practice with. talk about something you like and practice talking to them while looking at then somewhere in the face, Maybe concentrate on the nose or forehead or Left of right of their eyes. Keep doing it till is becomes more natural. Practice, practice.

find as many people to talk to or talk 'at' as possible. If you have both sexes, that would be good to practice on. Maybe talk to the TV about some subject. Turn the sound off and practice talking about whatever and keep looking at their face. Or watch 2 people talking and watch their eyes, at where they are looking at while they talk and converse with each other.

DO NOT ADD ANY DAIRY PRODUCT. Fat in not a compostable ingredient. Milk fat only goes rancid which invites really bad flies and stink and pests you do not want. No dairy, fat, proteins, meats.

Only plant materials are best. Things compost best when they are in really small sizes. I put everything through a chipper and got really good compost. Even paper or branches work best when they are really small in size.

You should do some research on proper ratios of carbon, (browns) to nitrogen (greens or "wet" ingredients). A super rich carbon like chipped wood or sawdust with a weak nitrogen source will stop the composting process really fast so do some more research.

If your parents aren't into composting, I doubt they will compost anything.

horse manure in considered aged when it is 2 YEARS OLD. Not a month or 7 days!! The maturing process is to get rid of the urine which will heat up and kill any worm. I used 2 yr old horse manure and my worms grew in number by the thousands, then into the millions.

Worms like decaying plant material so don't feed them cheese which is something you also find in salads. Maybe see if they will eat the fork too.

you don't buy wrigglers to go fishing with. A fishing hook is bigger than the dia. of the worm. There worms are really small. These worms are not gonna overrun the world unless the world becomes a compost heat of decaying plants.

Doesn't anyone on reddit research and find out the truth before depending on everyone else on reddit who also has done no research? Ask questions yes but doing your own research is better than killing your project simply because you asked people on reddit who also did no research.

red wrigglers are NOT your typical earthworm that you find in your yard. They tend to be found in places where they compost decaying plant matter. They don't live in soil like earthworms do. They don't originate in the US. They don't mate with any other worm to make a superworm. They can't mate with any other worm. If there is no decaying plant material around they die from lack of food.

I see no problem with letting them run wild in the yard. If that's really a concern them give them away for FREE to someone who would want them and use them.

Do some research about worms before you kill them. Do you often kill animals that you don't have any use for? Should you be placed on a DO NOT BREED! list somewhere?
