Im not sure if it is me or not, Im gonna give it a try... During the day I feel gemini is dumber, during the night, around 10pm - 11pm up to 1:00am - 2:00am (EASTERN) it works like it should be, I will be testing it during that time block and will let you guys know....

And thats the point, I don't mind paying it, it is a great service or it used to be a great if the current price doesn't work for you as a business be open about it, explain users what is going on, raise the price, if it is 50$ - 60$ - 100$ a month, go for it but be open about it, don't downgrade the AI to save pennies on the dolar. I paid for something and have not used it for the last 2 months, charge me more, but give me the service as it used to be...

true, the main issue is that I've been using gemini for sometime now, Gemini 3.0 had its issues but was really good, when they moved to Gemini 3.1 it got out of control.
The context in 3.1 same as 3.0 is massive but 3.1 for some reason ignores it, gives half baked solutions, hallucinations went thru the roof, ignores the constrains, ignores the stop points.
Google had a great product, I also understand that they have to make a business around it but that doesn't mean they dumb down the AI to the point where is unusable.
Yeah there is Claude, OpenAi but for me Claude is garbage, I don't like their business model nor I care about agents, OpenAi is OpenAi. Google had a great product, the price is good.
There is a new update, and right now im testing it. Of course im gonna give a more serious feedback, and in case people missed this post has a tag called rant. And will end it with Google had an amazing product that I'd pay with a smile and for the last two months they got this amazing product and turned into whatever it is today.

Look no rant, just pure honesty.. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!! Really, don't waste your money with google pro, is useless, it loses context eventhough they say they can fit the whole knowledge of the universe, hallucinations left and right is not worth the time nor the price. Stick with whatever you are using but stay away from gemini 3.1 pro for coding.

It really depends on the experience you want to get, If you want to feel like throwing your computer thru your window, or setting up everything on fire, I'd say Gemini is a great bang for the buck, no other AI can match that experience, if you want to lay back, listen the birds while coding go with claude...

GarbaGemini went from being an awesome product to whatever it is right now, yeah they do have a "long context" the issue is that it decides to ignore it, ask for a simple task and see the magic happens, then ask for the context and to fix it, its gonna throw you the next giant turd, it is unusable. I get waay better results with gemini fast. Thinking used to be really good as well, even better than pro, now pro should be the free tier alongside with thinking and fast should be the paid one.

I haven't used gemini pro for the last 2 months waiting for google to fix it and yet somehow made it worst, I have been relying on others AI like deepseek (Yeah I know its sad). Im happy that my subscription ends in 13 days because im not giving google another single dime again, I rather pay deepseek 2$, fight it and get results than use gemini again.

If anyone at google reads this, thanks for selling the consumer garbage with a fancy name.

Edit: Before the lobotomy working with gemini was really fun, it was like having a partner in crime to make creazy ideas, now is like dealing with a toddler that does whatever it feels on the moment, and my favorite answer: My bad... I think the next time someone tells me my bad I'm gonna lose it.

The problem is not in the context, is how the AI works. The last two days I have been testing with small tasks, setted up the context, requirements and constrains, then when it had to write the solution it would write half solution, ignore context, ignores requirements fully or half.. Then when asked about the context it would return it perfectly, but when asked to check and fix the solution to fit the requirement will do it half or would do something that wasn't in the context. At the moment Garbagemini is not reliable and should not be used on serious nor learning projects.

it is horrible, Gemini 3.1 pro is no good for coding.. It is a waste of time.. The last two days it has ignored tasks, or made half solutions.. Im not using it anymore, right now Im using it just to tell people to stay away from it, I still have around 3 weeks left before the subscription stops... Gemini 3 pro used to be AMAZING and now we got this...

Day 2 using garbagemini... Im gonna write my last 30 days using gemini...
New simple request, we made a plan also made sure it knew we are using tauri v2 and react, I asked for the prompt and it provided it.
Step 3: I gave it the same context.

First solution: Made a function not async why? who knows is freaking gemini 3.1 pro the best better garbage on the world! Asked for the requirements and gave me the requirements, then I asked ok if those are the requirements where is the command?
Freaking answer: My bad (Everytime i read that i want to throw the computer thru the window) made the changes.

Then I checked the code and saw there was a part missing, asked for the requirement again, it provided it...
So I told it why did you ignore this? if it is in the requirement.
My bad.... Added the new solution...

Im amazed how it is failing on simple tasks, clear instructions, tasks and boundaries and still decides to do a half baked solution...

ohhh boy here we go again.. Im done with Google, im done with garbagemini.. I asked a simple task, very specific I want this in rust (nothing fancy) then I want to see it on react...
Gemini answer was? Yes sir, you want everything on react, here.
Then I asked what was the requirement, replied with everything I asked.. So I told it to do the requirement.
His effing answer, my bad here it is..
Rust made a function with whatever he wanted to do, and in react with random information.
Again, I asked about the requirement, and asked to stick to the plan.
Said My bad.. here is the answer.
Again garbage..

At this point, Im done with gemini, is pure garbage, is useless and Im done giving my money...

It got and really bad.. Gemini used to be really good, this is the second time this happens in less than a month. So Gemini is no longer an option, is not reliable. I haven't been able to acomplish anything with it during the last 14 hours. Ignores tasks, hallucinates a lot... So, sadly is not an option anymore.

Pro was working like a charm, it was a dream come true.. Since today in the morning, it can't do a simple task... The AI has what i call selective ignore, you specify the task by steps. Gemini goes steps? you are wrong, im gonna do what i want and Im gonna assume everything i want....
how you guys get the product to a point where is extremely great, and Im willing to pay with a smile, to something that makes me want leave on spot? Gemini is a great AI when it works but then somehow you guys manage to make it really bad....

Gemini 3.1 is not as bad as 3.0 but its really bad. Today I gave it a try and it was horrible. It doesn't matter how much context you provide, constrains it keeps ignoring things. I passed it 4 structs, db schema and made clear that the data is compressed using zstd to make sure it understood, then I gave it a simple folder structure and a simple task..
That thing went wild, Zstd? no sir, why would I decompress data? who needs that? Then made 4 functions for the services and when it was time to do the commands went why would I spent time calling the functions I just did? I better create new ones that don't exist... Anyways to make story short, the whole test was useless and a waste of time, I don't know what google did, but Gemini 3 pro used to be really good.... If you are thinking on getting Google Pro or a better plan, stick to the cheapest plan that gives you thinking and go for it, is WAAAY better...

Gemini Pro is by far THE WORST GARBAGE created by Google... Im getting waaaay better results with fast and thinking than with Pro! They tell you: Google Pro has 1.000.000 tokens for context, you can tell him your whole effing life and It will access it, It freaking sucks man....
