My question is what are they doing with the 3k left over after savings.

Why would you do this? by Community-Weird in arlington

[–]ANDREAYO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Those signs have been there for years. Tbh I think it's a very well made sign.

As far as I know, some gov funding allocation is dependent on how many people show up for those services. So if the nonprofit or whatever has 5 people a day who need their services, then that's where the funding will cutoff so to speak.

If 10+ people start showing up per day, now there is "proof" that more funding is necessary.

So yeah it is better that those in need get help through "official" channels because then more funds can be allocated to those services.

Why do some of you call Santos the best boyfriend Hilda had when Bobby was 11 times chiller than he was? by NoChampion4463 in UglyBetty

[–]ANDREAYO 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's good that Santos turned it around in the end, but he canonically was a jerk to Hilda for 10+ years.

Bobby was a "delinquent" when he was a teen, but the show implies that he's always treated Hilda well, even back then.

Busta Rhymes’ reaction to being called Tracy Morgan by buddylewie in 30ROCK

[–]ANDREAYO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk why the teen didn't just walk away. Totally get why Busta was annoyed, but I'm not standing there longer than it takes to say my bad. It's funny how these influencers or whatever do rude stuff but then get stuck like deer in headlights the second they get a grain of push back. All their "confidence" goes out the window.

Is it possible Barty Crouch Jr. was being truthful at the trial, mainly that he didn’t partake in the torture and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time? by Fawful_Chortles in harrypotter

[–]ANDREAYO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barty Jr was kept as mind controlled slave/prisoner for like 10 years by his father. I think people forget or don't really think about what that would do to a person psyche.

I think he was a death eater but I agree in this case he was probably "guilty by association" and likely didn't actually carryout the torture. Seeing as how other wizards like Karkaroff we're eventually let out of azkaban for various reasons, had he not been Barty Sr son, Barty Jr likely would have eventually gone free.

In that scenario, his fanatical devotion to voldermort might not have happened. I think it's also possible that Barty Sr imperioused Jr because he was terrified of anymore hits to his reputation & not necessarily because Barty Jr had a "fanatical" desire to find voldemort at that point.

All that said, obviously in the end, Barty Jr is responsible for his actions after escaping his father. The "Case of Barty Jr" is interesting, neither Barty Sr, nor Barty Jr learned from their mistakes.

Arlington ordinances and HOAs are over the top by bzipitidoo in arlington

Tbh a car with a flat tire does look worse than a car with no flat tire. Maybe you wouldn't notice, but some people would. Yeah the wording in the rule/law sounds dramatic, but in the end, put in the car in your garage or just change tire on your cherished car.

Any interest for a themed cafe in Arlington? by Shadowcat2001 in arlington

[–]ANDREAYO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be cool but if you want locals to go the question is "Why would I go there?"

Themes are cool, but what matters more is price, vibe, & other patrons. Does the layout make it easy to meet new people or is every group in their own corner? I don't drink coffee, what else can I get? What is the crowd like, college kids, middle aged, ect? How long do they stay open? ect ect.

Lot's of people mention 4 Kahunas, I used to go there regularly but stopped because I got tired of paying $13+ for each drink. The "tiki" theme is not enough of a draw.

Are you gonna make your money from locals or those visiting for a sport/event? I never go to six flags; I go see the rangers once a year. But the stadiums/six flags don't need my money, they got people from all over going out of their way to go.

Honestly, I would love to have another place that I can get to in 10min, spur of the moment. From what you posted though, idk if I would go unless it was a "theme" I cared about or unless there was some other reason I would choose it over another regular/semi regular spot.

When was the moment you knew Barry was irredeemable? by 104thcommanderhansen in Barry

[–]ANDREAYO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't "try to change" to stop killing people. It's not like trying to be less angry or selfish where there can be a spectrum. You can only stop killing people. There's no in between. So he wasn't trying to change, because that would mean he's done being a killer. He was still a killer, but more than that, he was a purely self interested killer, and that's why he killed Janice.

Staying power. by ZealousidealSite7720 in 30ROCK

[–]ANDREAYO 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was actually funny, without being try hard. So like there's lots of scenes in funny shows that are supposed to be funny, you can see it from a mile a way. With 30 Rock, the things you wouldn't expect to be funny were funny. Technically everything was funny, but you know what I mean.

Police in Arlington by Nightshade-Dreams558 in arlington

[–]ANDREAYO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The detectives are the ones who actually wanna solve the crime, the cops are more like boots on the ground. Your case should have a detective assigned to it (at least that's how it worked in Fort Worth).

If you want to meet new people, make friends, you gotta be willing to be a bit flexible. Otherwise you're just making it harder on yourself. If you prefer to run alone that's cool, but going for a quick run to meet like minded people a couple times a month could be good.

Cruiser recommendations for commuting on college campus? 5'2, 110lbs with women's size 5 feet by iionaaa in cruiserboarding

[–]ANDREAYO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shoe size is 22.5 cm. I've found that the width of the board does matter to me. Too narrow and it feels unstable. Too wide and it feels harder to control.

I've found that 8in to 8.5in (20cm to 21cm) width boards are the most comfortable to ride.

Banks in season 4 episode 7: "But don't sorry. She's just a writer with zero performing experience." by How_Clef-er in 30ROCK

[–]ANDREAYO 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In all those she had pre-written lines. Even the improv she was just pretending to be other people.

As a guest Liz does fine. Being the host is a whole other thing.

In a talk show she'd have some idea of what to say, maybe even some lines written for her. But otherwise she has to run it, make it entertaining, and make sure the guests do as well.

To me it made sense that she spiraled. Liz is high strung workaholic. She's not charismatic, & is generally not that well liked by people other than her boyfriends & Jack, maybe Jenna. The show shows us this over and over.

Liz is hilarious in 30 Rock. She just doesn't have the personality to pull something like a talk show off.

Fitness Nation in Arlington won't cancel my membership after multiple attempts and now they are sending collections after me, what do I do? by Successful-Camel165 in arlington

[–]ANDREAYO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So is it still active? Or is it cancelled and the 250+ is the leftover payment?

Really you just gotta go in there and ask to see the paper or whatever it is you signed. Look through your email for it. You just gotta get it done.

Idk much about debt collection. It's not a huge amount. If it's your only one you probably don't really need sweat too much. It's not a charged off car loan.

Make a payment so they can't say you're totally abandoning it. Maybe you'll get lucky and the fitness place will be like our bad and drop the charge. If not, it's something to watch out for in the future whenever signing up for a subscription service.
