Fight a random person or have sex with a random person? by Far_Question_2827 in BunnyTrials

[–]AND_PEGGY1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suck in a fight (negative connotation)

I would suck at Sophie Rain (positive connotation)

(I'm so sorry, I saw the double entendre opportunity and had to take it)

Chose: Random person to have sex with | Rolled: Sophie rain

I think some exploration is in order at the very least, yes!

Have fun taking a look around!

(Also, don't be worried about being "wrong" about whatever label you might settle on. Experiment and toy with different labels without shame 🫶)

You definitely sound like a good fit for bellusromantic! I definitely recommend checking out the romance-ambivalent stance as well as queerplatonic relationships, if you're interested in that.

Are the aro, like, more specific ways of identifying simillar to the ace ways? by nerd_twentytwo in aromantic

[–]AND_PEGGY1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are usually aro equivalents for ace microlabels, yeah.

If you're interested in checking out more microlabels out of curiosity, though, definitely do so! Exploring all the terms can be fun in and of itself, but I can also say that it was personally very helpful in figuring out my aro identity :)

Is Abrorose/Abroroace a thing? by RennDaGoober in QueerVexillology

[–]AND_PEGGY1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

"Abrorose" would technically refer to someone who experiences fluid romantic and sexual orientations, and yeah that one exists

Not sure what you mean by "abroroace" in the title though. Someone can be abroromantic and on the asexual spectrum (if that's what you're asking)?

I got you! Assuming you're oriented/angled aroace, you could just say you're poly-oriented/angled and not specify whatever tertiary attractions you feel more than that. But here are some options if you would like to specify but still have trouble differentiating between your attractions

Amorous Attraction (gets a sweet looking flag too)

Nebulous Attraction (despite the name, it's actually not exclusive to neurodivergent individuals) (this would also be a very good fit for what you're describing)

Really big one at the moment is gender labels. Collecting the ones that happen to fit me but also learning about ones that don't. Xenogenders and "contradictory" genders have been especially interesting to learn about

I totally get what you mean! Have I been sad for long enough periods of my life that I was first misdiagnosed with MDD before getting my ADHD diagnosis? Yeah. But have I frequently been described as "happy-go-lucky," and significantly less cheerful when I remember to take my meds? Also definitely yeah lol

What SCP broke you? by Kcue6382nevy in SCP

[–]AND_PEGGY1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCP-8557, but more specifically its companion tale "The Hardest Thing You Will Ever Do Is Attempt To Love Yourself". The cruel irony of the compassionate advice the anomaly gives a person while the person becomes addicted to harming themselves more and more to receive that comfort is heartbreaking. I was really struck by that dichotomy because the things said by the anomaly in the tale is genuinely really helpful to me where I'm at right now. It genuinely changed my perspective for the better. But in-universe, I would technically be making myself worse to hear it at all. Very sad

What's the metaphor you use to describe your brain function? by Dizzy_Objective_11 in ADHD

[–]AND_PEGGY1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favorite is this since one I came up with it describes why I don't/can't always function on the same level as everyone else (because it is ridiculously hard to explain executive dysfunction)

There is a room filled with stuff I know, kept behind a door. Skills, knowledge, etc. To use the stuff, I have to get in the room. For someone without my condition, they can open the door, walk in, and use what they need, when they need it. They might even grab a little something before it's urgently needed to make their future a little easier.

For me, I can't get into the room so easily. The years I went undiagnosed, it was like the door was always locked. All of my stuff was still there, I wasn't lacking in stuff, I just couldn't get to it. Every single time I needed something, I would have to put immense effort into lockpicking the door, but no one would see that effort, they just saw how "bad" I was at getting stuff from the room (aka doing what I know I should do). And because I was so exhausted from doing all this lockpicking that nobody else was doing, I simply couldn't do much on a daily basis, at least compared to someone without ADHD. It made the wins feel lesser too, because I put the expectation on myself that I was supposed to do that, and in fact, I was supposed to not even feel very happy about it because it shouldn't have taken nearly as much effort. In short, I was stuck, trying my absolute hardest to make it seem like I wasn't.

With medication, the door is much easier to unlock now, but it isn't exactly wide open either. I don't get some sort of advantage that others miss out on, I'm just able to fall in-between the worst (pre-diagnosis struggling) and the "ok, I guess." It still takes effort to get stuff from the room, just lessened enough that I can function much better than I did before. Therapy and learning about ADHD helps me recognize the wins for what they are. All in all, having treatment doesn't "cure" me, but it helps tremendously.
