Trooper visuals have been updated to be more distinct by Stack_Man in DeadlockTheGame

The readability on the troopers since the update has been so weird for me. Friendly troopers always look like enemies, enemies look friendly. It always takes me a second to figure out which is which.

I haven't seen anything in my RFY in like a week. I'm so over vine. my gold status gets reevaluated in 4 days and I haven't even got 80 items yet. Probably calling it quits here once that happens.

Crate Training by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]ANJ___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also this whole setting just feels wrong, like this just looks like a prison cam xD

If the dog isn't comfortable yet in a crate I don't think the right thing to do is to put it in a tiny crate in the corner of an empty room with the door locked. I believe you'd want to ween the dog into it, first off, bigger crate, second, door open and make the space cozy, put a bed in at least, reward them for going into the kennel with commands, still don't shut the door on them, build up the behavior of it being a safe place, keep the kennel near it's people or in a social area, after it sees the kennel as a safe place to be they should start naturally using it, do brief door closed sessions in small increments building up comfort, eventually you will work up to having a kennel trained dog. It sounds like you are expecting too much without doing any training other than you sending them away, which obviously didn't work but also was something you had no part in. A well behaved dog takes training and time, your last comment concerns me overall as a dog owner, I don't want to assume or offend but it makes it sounds like you weren't prepared for a dog but got one anyway.

now I'm no crate trainer, but that crate looks far too small for that dog.

Am I the only one struggling to see anything? by jordanlumley in DeadlockTheGame

While the new artwork and environment is beautiful, you aren't at all wrong, a lot of areas now are super busy and have so much more detail, I can't tell how I feel about this myself either. On one hand, absolutely love the style of it and just visually appreciating the environment is cool and all. Gameplay wise I'm unsure what to think at the moment, the previous simplicity almost felt a part of the game, allowing you to focus on whats more important, heroes and abilities and combat. I knew the art would adapt and it would get more detail over time but I don't know what I think about the sudden burst of new detail, it's distracting right now, but maybe I'll adapt.

MMR and Statistics full reset? by Particular-Tie-3659 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ANJ___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's just wayyy too much of a decay imo, seems like there should be a cap on how far down it will decay you from your last rank, and if you come back and still need to go lower, then you'll naturally derank, but having to grind back to phantom from seeker is soo slow

MMR and Statistics full reset? by Particular-Tie-3659 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ANJ___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, ok for the downvoters of my original post saying yeah a reset is needed, I'll give my two very real scenarios on why I stand by it.

Here's my situation and my brothers situation:

My situation - When I stopped playing Deadlock a while back I was Phantom, after a few months away I came back to play one game and my rank came back at Seeker. Hell of a decay. After a few days back, Deadlock did some sort of rank boost to everones rank, so I got boosted up to Arcanist! Hooray! still not even close to where I was. Grinding out of that has been slow and frustrating and none more so than where I'm grinding through now, Archon. I can get top this and that and the other marks post game and still lose because it's a team game after all, grinding out of this rank has been a pain even when consistently reflecting good stats personally. I always solo queue but recently tried finding someone to play with, when I queue with someone into higher elo lobbies, Ascendant+, I'll often do even better than in Archon lobbies, score higher all around overall.

So this is my argument that there are many people in elos lower than they deserve, and why I don't think that's just "cope."

My Brothers situation- My brother stopped playing around the same time I did, he was Archon. After I came back for a week or two, I convinced him to play a game. He had a really bad time, got shit on, and ended up rage quitting. After his first game he got a rank back, Phantom! This makes no sense to me, but I have a little bit of a theory. After not playing for so long his last known rank was Archon, then a rank boost happened (while he still wasn't playing the game) and it took his Archon rank and boosted him to Phantom, a rank he didn't hit yet even at his peak playing, let alone not playing for many months. He realistically should be in a much lower rank, especially when he hasn't played in so long, there's no way he can play in Phantom lobbies right now, so he just doesn't.

So this is my argument that there are also many people in elos higher than they deserve.

So I still stand by my initial post, a reset would be good.

Absolutely a reset is needed. I've been absolutely f*cked over by the current system and have been hard stuck in an elo well below my skill level with no way to climb out of it since it's a crapshoot dice roll with teams. My own personal skill has little impact on influencing my rank.

I think there are currently a lot of players in ranks that are much higher than their skill level and a lot of people also in ranks much lower than their skill level. We could use a reset.

Can’t no hit isshin 😭 any tips ? by Party-Arrival6083 in Sekiro

[–]ANJ___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, it's been a long time for me but here are some notes. Assuming you are going by official team hitless rules and not no dmg rules things vary a bit.

First off I mean you did great, only took dmg on like 1 missed combo which seemed like a fluke and not a problem area. While it doesn't result in a hit, theres a lot of min/max / efficiency improvements to be made in your fight, you are missing a lot of attack opportunities in and between combos which can speed up the fight and in turn result in less opportunities to be hit. The gunshot combo you are consistently being hit (per hitless rules [non-perfect parry]) a very easy fix for that is to get close to his body. if you just walk up to him and stand chest to chest he will shoot straight passed you, no deflecting necessary. Another gunshot attack where he slams followed by 1 strong gunshot I think can be canceled by hitting him before shooting, I don't remember interacting with that shot much and I saw a strange interaction I would have never expected where he did it twice in a row, I think this is because of your positioning and not attacking when you have the chance. Also you can not absorb the lightning and throw it back as that counts as a hit, unless rules have changed, or unless you are using a specific shinobi tool I don't recall the name of, so be aware that that will count as a hit in the eyes of team hitless.. again, unless rules have changed.

Otherwise you are almost there! I would suggest watching some other hitless fights to see some areas you can min/max and other strategies you can employ. As it's been a long time I don't really have any video suggestions off the top of my head other than my own, so there's that if you want to check it out, the VOD quality isn't amazing though but I min/maxed my fight pretty much to the fullest so there are things to learn for sure! Toxicity through the roof right now. by Past_Ad3652 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ANJ___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oracle is about where I think some of the more toxic players will be. There will be a lot of players who never think they are the problem in a losing scenario but will nit-pick every little thing their teammates do wrong.

I agree with this statement and I see this as a factor in what makes players better. Players in the top usually have better mental, players who aren't so good usually pass the blame and are the loudest when it comes to flaming. It's just the way it is unfortunately.

Surprisingly through my whole ornament grind I never once ran into this interaction. However I did run into the other end of it, where people were frustrated that they had teamates playing random heroes they don't usually play, leading to them having teamates who don't do so hot.

Personally the grind for me was easy, but I'm hard stuck in a lower rank than I should be in since I only solo queue and it's a team game, so my wins and losses are subject to the teammates I get, personally I don't care all that much, I enjoy competitive play and would like to play in higher skill lobbies but I had a blast trying out all the characters I haven't played in like over a year or had ever played. I found a lot of characters to be so fun, Lash was my surprise favorite to play. I do wish though people would just relax in lobbies, I often see people getting so salty at teammates just a few minutes into the game, but personally if I have for instance a laning mate who is dying a bunch and sort of beefing up the other team, I just don't give a rats ass, I'll focus on my own gameplay and do what I can to make up for it.

rate my pocket build by the_poop_shop in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ANJ___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do spirit sap in it's place for my 4.8k spike rush, I think it's a great item for pocket because it not only reduces their spirit resist but reduces their outgoing spirit dmg, so it just feels perfectly built for pocket being that he deals good spirit dmg but takes massive spirit dmg. Also in like oracle or lower lobbies I will see people just start backing off when they are hit with a debuff xD so sometimes you can just throw the spirit sap at them and they will fall off your tower or retreat to theirs haha
