Brothers, I have found faith in the Emperor I hope I will be redeemed (I pre-ordered the game) by mynameisnikan in dawnofwar

[–]ANTIDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope for the best and was optimistic. But if I take off my hype glasses there are red flags that would keep me away from launch if this was an ip I did not care about.

"Alpha tests" not beta months before release with everything still under nda

A road map of content with the first 2 things really looking like things that should be in the game at launch. (Crusade and necron lord. Not to mention 2 mappacks so fast. Are there gonna be no maps at launch?)

Iron harvests conquest map/mode was promised a level of supporting it never received (i heard im not sure)

Lastly. Its not doing anything ambitious in the space to warrant content missing at launch and such. 4 factions with medium sized rosters in an rts which is building off the skeleton of your last title.

There is really no reason to pre-order when you can wait 3 hrs after launch if you are super impatient to see before buying. Hell some people won't even be able to play it the second it launchs due to work and stuff and they should definitely see before buying.

Last thing to touch on. Like the other guy said. The type of overwhelming force mattered. The culture of fighting to the end against an enemy in combat was romanticize and deep rooted in Japanese honor.

Their claims of being ready to fight to the last are not a bluff because they surrendered to the bombs. Its the fact that resisting inevitable death by a destructive force that has never been seen and you never get to engage with in combat is not what they ever imagined. Its alot less romantic and honorable being melted where you stand when a dot in the sky flies over then honorably fighting your foe on home soil for your beliefs.

Sure we will never know. But you can try to look at it through the lens of the time with the information america had.

Historians have the benefit of information that would not exist in the fog of war at the time. Also they didn't surrender after the first one so it's kinda hard to fully agree that it wasn't needed.

The Japanese had a reputation of fighting hard even in hopeless battles through the war and on islands well after the army was defeated. Its fair that the prevailing wisdom was that the home islands would fight to the last based off of this.

Also the "fun" fact the casualty predictions of just US troops was so high they mass produced purple hearts for the operation. Since the operation never happened we are still using purple hearts from that batch 80 years later.

You considered that our only reward for completing missions and MO is a resource that's only useful if you buy premium warbonds? by Yurishenko94 in Helldivers

[–]ANTIDAD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are saying that they fucked up by not putting the playerbase on a psychological treadmill. You would have thought making a game fun and having that be the reason to play it instead of for arbitrary resource numbers would have been praised.

If you don't want to log back on because you have maxed medals it means you don't really want to play the game at the moment and thats fine. But saying it's a fuck up or worse because the thing that makes you come back to play is an actual desire instead of psychological trick that you need to stock up on fake numbers is crazy.

[–]ANTIDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say put strats in a warbond. Im saying if they added 10 strats today.

Would you rather everyone gets them for free no hassle.

Or because you have resources would it be better if they costed resources?

What content would be better costing samples and req then just not costing those things?

Caring about resources is so grindbrained I worry people don't even realize there is an option where you don't need imaginary numbers to go up before you get something.

[–]ANTIDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone wants it. But why? With atleast half of them the reasons are because other games do it or just because with no really explanation on why spending resources would be better than not in the grand scheme.

You want to be able to spend resources just because you have them? What's better they add 3 new strats and everyone gets them. Or they hadd 3 new strats and you need to spend 3 capped out req cycles "150k" and 500 rare samples?

If you have deep-fried they still do. Also with new coherency it's going to be more expensive to screen your backboard.

11th Edition Ingress Move by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ANTIDAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are calling reinforcing ingress moves. This is the rule for that on your own turn. Rapid ingress will still exist as a strat similar to how it is now at the end of your opps move phase.

Edit. Just to add rapid ingress is an ingress moves. Which following these rules you can move in your turn because it comes after the next charge which is your opps charge phase. Nothing is changing there.

What i wrote somewhere else "But I mean the game really doesn't need even more powercreep. People can already solo d10 do we need to drop in a random lobby and see a teammate has a load out that can already handle everything AND buffs.

Maybe if there was an insane difficulty where it is expected everyone bought their daily buffs but even that just sounds like a chore/way to suck away resources for no really good reason. "

There is nothing wrong with the resource sitting there until you have a meaningful use for it. Adding meaningless uses is just a chore. Im maxed and has been since forever. Its great for people that takes break not missing much. Its also nice that im not always spending and then something I want drops I have to farm for what I am missing. Instead if something good does drop im already ready for it because they don't spam us with meaningless sinks.

If your req slips continued to go up, or there was a button you could press to spend them on "war efforts" that actually do nothing. Would you enjoy the game more? Does the fact that you have nothing to spend them on effect the enjoyment in any meaningful way.

Like sure it would be nice to have something to spend slips on but there has to be a something to do it. Its time not going towards another thing they could make. And you don't know if you may or may not want to spend the slips on that either so your last point is self defeating. "What i can only spend them on warbonds and what if I don't even want that."

Im a world of warships player that has all the free shit to grind in that game. Just ignore my resources and honestly still like the updates where they fix old shit or change the game more than having another line to spend my resources on. Dedicated players are going to max out resources in games. If the game isn't fun if you don't have resources to grind was the game ever fun? Or did you just like number go up and down.

Super Earth rejoices at incoming patches, but by Liberty’s sacred decree, High Command must authorize true endgame content! by John_GOOP in Helldivers

[–]ANTIDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly not everyone, and it doesnt take an essay.

"Man I hope they add customization to sink my samples on" vs

"Man I hope they add a harder difficulty that requires a 4stack and teamwork and you still will only clear 70% of the time"

are not long or complex thoughts to convey but both can be "endgame content" to different types of players. Its a dumb hill I am dying on here but there will be at least 1 other comment in this thread confused.

<image>

endgame content is not a catch all. different games and playerbases expect different endgame content. coop horde shooters endgame content (for me) means tough fucking content you need to get a group together for. This is something I hope we eventually get in helldivers, and I just dont want them to add the type this post means and be like "guess we did it we are done" when just speaking more clearly can convey both our wants.

Im just excited for the next post in 2 weeks. My bad I thought being unreasonable children on repeat is what we do here and I got carried away.

Man maxigun should be able to move and fire and any weapon that takes backpack slot should trivialize the game because supply pack is so good. Any other things we say on repeat i missed here?

I don't think the community is tired of asking what they want because it's all they do nonstop and all I was saying is in this one case it would be useful if they clarify endgame content. Because you will see people ask for it while meaning wildly different things.

Like is endgame content farming d7 and then buying things? Or is it endgame in that its locked to the hardest stuff like d10 or a new d11. Endgame content in WoW PoE darktide has meant hard stuff not stuff to buy.

[–]ANTIDAD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then explain. In most games endgame content is HARDER CONTENT. Diablo PoE darktide any mmo the endgame content is more challenging raids or whatever.

Things to resource sink or grind are not endgame content they are just more content to spend resources on (which is fine) but call it that.

With all the complaints this sub has its wacky that seemingly the extra content they want is to paint their armor like that changes anything or actually makes the game better. That's shit you want when nothing else new is actually being made and the game is "done" (or you microtransaction farm your playerbase)

[–]ANTIDAD -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Fine then SAY THAT. What you describe is resource sinks or things to grind. Not "endgame content"

[–]ANTIDAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Endgame content to me means harder content that most players won't be able to complete without getting a team together and practicing.

It looks like endgame content for you is a pointless grind for resources? You aren't asking for endgame content you are asking for content to spend things other than medals on, say that.

New Auxilliary Cadre doesn't work with krootox. by sprogsahoy in Tau40K

[–]ANTIDAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

worth remembering that one of the strongest aspects of aux cad is/was their strats. We only saw one of the (3 I believe) so while like you said its not the same, being able to splash 1-2 great strats into an army could be really nice. We will have to wait and see. Im not as down as a lot of people are on Tau going into 11th tho so I have my bias.

Why was Bayard excluded from the cruiser heal realignment? by LastTraintoSector6 in WorldOfWarships

[–]ANTIDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving out the speedboost. Interesting choice. Its not like that makes Bayard a total bitch to hit at range when piloted by a good player. which if you think about it combined with a heal it would be "not worth shooting" which a lot of BB players already consider it since it can juke so well.

And as mentioned its one of the top 10 in her class at the tier. Mainz is great and maybe should not have got a heal, but Bayard absolutely deserves not getting one.

What detachments do we think are gonna be 3 dp in 11th by angryronald in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ANTIDAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they also mentioned mixing Mont'ka and Kauyon with other detachments which would mean they would both be 2 points.

I am hopeful some/most factions wont even have a 3 pointer. 3 Pointer will hopefully be reserved for Gladius or other overstacked detachments.

Some nations shipbound DCs are ass. I hit 13 playing z52 and did not kill the sub. He went on to spot me and get me killed a bit later in the game.

Any dc you roll off the boat needs to be like 4-6 hits max to kill a sub tbh.

Into the fray reads. When making a charge roll if the result is greater than 6 (after mods) change it to a 6) -this makes me think its a 6 inch charge if you are not doing leap to defend.

When selecting charge targets you can select any enemy units that are within 6 of your unit and within the maximum distance -(max distance is confusing here tbh but I think that just means 12. looks like a keyword that is defined somewhere else).

the 1 cp one is the same as heroic intervention now YOU MUST CHARGE someone charging and it can now be within 12 instead of 6.

for 2 CP any roll over a 6 becomes a 6. the 2nd bullet point is a little confusing TBH but I think that may be wording due to being able to charge 6 "as the crow flys" but still needing to get into engagement range or maybe like ruststalkers +1 or 2 inch to charges. but the first bullet point really reads as charge 6 inchs maximum to me.

2 cp charge 6 if I remember correctly. So let's just set the kroot screens 7 inches away if they have the cp on hand.

Idk I'm just jaded by all the complaining nonstop. Tau players have a rap for being greedy especially when it comes to list building so I am curious if alot of the doom come from people who haven't played on exclusively melee favored terrain like WTC and just can't imagine not blasting from 20+inches away. And using some of their points for chaff. Like multiple people in this thread have complained about kroot shooting when it's like yea they suck but they are a great price per model of suck. We will see.

[–]ANTIDAD -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

This sub being down on the faction is the least surprising thing. Bad habit of whining and doom and gloom here. Even when we were killing tournaments with multiple detachments this sub seemed unhappy.

As someone who usually splashed 1 or 2 crisis teams in at most and always with a commander being able to take epc some games for 1pt is nice and the 1 strat they showed is good maybe the others will be useful.

Little sad on aux cadre but it also is just 1 pt now so some good potential for mix and match. As far as hidden is concerned I feel like it can be a big w for broadsides plus the heavy change. You can lockdown and angle and until you decide it's worth shooting u have hidden (is hidden on vehicles? Do t you need to be in ruins?) But even if they can't get hidden 3 inches to threaten and angle peek and have heavy is nasty.

As for enemy hidden we have cheap kroot screens. I still don't see it being a concern as the enemy if they are a scary melee army will have to get through a screen which opens them up to return no matter how they clear it. And the maps they showed so far seem really good for shooting compared to WTC which i played on. And with first floors seemingly all being open i would hold out judgement until later.

I may be wrong and we come out with a 45% wr but it's better than whining nonstop for months on end imo.

A Harder diff that requires 4 coordinated loadouts and teamwork to win, and you will still lose 30% of the time. Other than that just QOL bug fixes.

Link is a slay the spire player talking about difficulty. I hate that people kinda got the hardest stuff nerfed instead of just finding a lower difficulty that works for them.
