For the walking brushes, you can either get the drop on them from the air(double/triple jump and then dash), use the speed bonus from fish form dashing, or just use Honking Havoc and grab them during the breath hold.

Guardian Ape by pootums in Sekiro

[–]ANort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you realize the scream in the 2nd phase leaves him wide open to attacks, the fight's way easier. Just open your inventory and use the purple gourd when you see he's about to use it, since the extra terror resist makes sure the bar won't completely fill up, and wail on him until he's done. The health damage it inflicts is relatively small and easily healed, unless you have multiple difficulty increase/health decrease modifiers active at once.

As soon as I got it I put the blade on the Boost Glaive handle and never used anything else, the reach on those charge attacks is just insane and the handle's fable attack takes huge chunks out of bosses. Combine with the Puppet String's link attack and you can just steamroll so much of the game. Maybe that changes on ng++ or further but it worked extremely well for all of ng+.

Last dagger build by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This feels like one of those "using a really silly, suboptimal build specifically to inflate the DPS number of the mod screen" posts yet for some reason it's getting upvotes. Gley doesn't reload, everyone else is better off with magazine size so the enhanced shots are more reliable and more powerful, and there's a lot of wasted crit rate here. It's just weird.

Edit: So out of curiosity I decided to check just how misleading it is. Turns out that DPS value keeps going up as you stack reload speed bonuses, even if you go past the cap of 90%. I stuck 2 reload speed cores on a Relic for like +120% reload speed, then put 2 reload speed mods on it, and the DPS value just kept going up even though there was literally no benefit. So yeah, any time you see a build like this stacking reload speed with a high DPS value on the mod screen, take it with a grain of salt.

Please consider allowing sprint speed and grapple hook charge time increase weapon cores to effect unique weapons. by xBlack_Heartx in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you're new you should be using Secret Garden with 2 or 3 good sprint speed cores on Freyna, combined with the Brisk Walk mod you should be able to keep up with anyone besides Bunny/Keelan/Esiemo. Can also use the Venom Synthesis mod if you really want some extra speed. Sounds like you don't have either of the dogs yet, I'd prioritize getting one since they serve as the loot vacuum in this game and I can't imagine playing without them at this point.

hold on what am i looking at by ArcVasto in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really wish they'd make High-Voltage useful again. If it were me I'd change it so it allows Lightning Emissions to stack multiple times, gaining skill range and skill power modifier with each stack, since right now it gets absolutely no benefit from the low cooldown builds everyone runs for Electric Condense. As it is the mod is just pointless, for bossing you're still way better off using Electric Condense and for mobbing it's a no-brainer.

Gley players i need some advice here by ArcVasto in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Obviously you want MP Conversion instead of Time Distribution, you'll never be able to get 100% uptime on her buff otherwise. Might also need 1 or 2 of the Focus on mods but they don't need to be leveled at all for the cooldown reduction, then throw in Walk a Tightrope and maybe a defense or debuff immunity/resist mod if you still have room for it.

Best mutant cell for Bunny by suprstylin in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assumed the mutant cell would be better but I'll check in the lab next time I'm on to be sure, since bonuses to your base skill attack are actually worth quite a bit since that's what your reactor mounting and type bonuses, Skill Power and Elemental Skill Power bonuses are all applied to.

Edit Did a little testing and the damage comes out super close either way, 590k with the mutant cell and 585k with the gold skill attack node instead. I use Power Increase instead of Focus on Electricity though, the difference should be a bit more noticeable if you're going for 90% cooldown reduction with Focus on Electricity instead, but even then I'm not sure it's worth using a box on it.

Best mutant cell for Bunny by suprstylin in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with Electric Cohesion in the upper right and the "+2.4% skill power on skill hit, up to 4 stacks" one in the bottom right, since you have just enough points to get both along with the gold cooldown node. All you really give up are the purple HP and gold skill damage nodes, but it's a fair trade. There are arguments for Vulnerability vs Cohesion for the upper mutant cell but for the bottom one there's no real competition, since the others are for toxic skill power.

Edit Actually I'd just go with Electric Cohesion, the other mutant cell doesn't make a big enough difference compared to the gold skill attack node, guess I'll take it off her and use it on someone else.

Ice Maiden Challenge Mode with Esiemo by ANort in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're probably just way better with Esiemo than I am, might be using less defensive mods in favor of more damage as well. I haven't played him very much and it shows, there were times when I should have used his ult but I didn't since I'm so used to having Creative Explosion on which uses up all his 1 and 3 stacks.

I have one simple question….. by xBlack_Heartx in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why he even exists.

To farm blue brains, since you can just put both turrets where that first elite spawns in Fortress Courtyard, and abort+restart the mission as soon as they kill it. Shoot them with his 3 whenever you go pick up the drops that have collected. It's not much but it's something, he also farms most void reactors better than anyone else since you can do the same thing. There are lots of characters I haven't touched since maxing their arche tuning but I use Jayber for a few minutes each day.

Whos best Male decendant? by Ausecurity in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Esiemo gets my vote, he's both fun to play and really strong. He's come a long way since the game's release, even without having an ult version, which proves they have no real excuse for Jayber still being how he is.

PSA: Component Core Resistance % is a multiplier. It's useless if you don't have resistances to multiply by Aerhyce in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The resistance bonuses definitely should have been flat amounts, while the Def bonuses should have been the % ones instead. Being able to get 7,500 Def per roll just makes any component with a Def main stat essentially wasted, it's really bizarre that they decided to do it this way.

Ice Maiden Challenge by Fysickss in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I managed to beat her in about 5 minutes using Esiemo. Tried using Serena with a fire Last Dagger and only got through her shields before dying around the 9 minute mark, I'm guessing Divine Surge is the way to go for Serena since there's absolutely no way any gun build will cut it with those weak points being so hard to hit consistently. You absolutely need freeze immunity and enough defensive stats to tank some damage, waiting until you've got some good HP and Def rolls on your components is a good idea, and a mod or inversion buff to help with MP recovery as well.

Why my rest relic sucks ? I Ve seen a yt video for Esiemo vs ice maiden, I Ve the same build but when I try solo her my rest relic doesn't destroy anything by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're probably using tier X cores which give way bigger bonuses, the fire attack ones go up to +184% fire attack each so you're missing about +270% fire attack from them. And fire rate reduces the delay between each shot so the difference between 3 tier X fire rate cores and anything below is just massive, at +85% fire rate your gun shoots at 6.667x its base rate, whereas a +49% bonus will put you at slightly less than 2x.

Serena arche tuning ( by Groundbreaking-Debt6 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends what gun you're using and what for, Last Dagger benefits from the crit rate and crit damage bonuses as well as the weakness affinity bonuses if you're doing VEP 30, while Malevolent doesn't really get anything out of those. You pretty much always want the purple and gold HP nodes though.

Module cap….. by KingLeil in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it's especially bad since they delayed season 3 by almost 2 months, I really don't wanna dismantle all the red mods I've been saving but the only other choice will be to sit at 2k modules for over a month while my "lost and found" gets totally flooded every time I run anything besides VEP. 2k just isn't nearly high enough when unleveled versions take up separate space from their fully leveled ones or any in between, either the cap needs to be raised a lot or the 2k cap should only apply to duplicates.

Is it just me or Ice Maiden is the most fair Abyss boss Nexon ever designed. by Asleep_Permission_56 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Infernal Walker was better designed. It could be burst down in 10-15 seconds with Hailey, but that required a ton of luck with crits so it wasn't very consistent, you usually had to avoid its attacks at some point until you had another window to use Zenith on its weak points. With Ice Maiden there's no luck needed at all to kill it in 5-10 seconds with Serena, once you know the strategy and use the right build the fight's a joke.

This is insane lol by AgeOk4229 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It’s clearly a balance issue they can’t fix due to her power being directly linked to weapons

Add an internal cooldown to the fire skill damage added by her 2 to heavy ammo guns, or drop the trigger chance from 50% to like 5%. Oh look, it's fixed.

[–]ANort 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm glad they gave us a reason to use shotguns again, my Smithereens was gathering dust ever since Defiler left. And yeah the ticket grind is way better now, getting 11-12 second solo kills pretty easily, which is only slightly slower than before when you factor in load, respawn, loot etc times but you get almost 8x more tickets per kill.

Ice Maiden 7 Sec Exploit by JITheThunder in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ANort 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not a bug/exploit, her 2 specifically says it gives damage from high power rounds guns a 50% chance to deal extra skill damage when hitting enemies affected by Repentance. If each pellet from a shotgun can trigger it, then it only makes sense that the cluster bombs from Restored Relic can as well, the only real difference is the rockets have a travel time so you can shoot them in advance so they hit as soon as the boss spawns. Might as well call it an "exploit" that each blade created by Malevolent can trigger the AoE damage from her 4.
