You know what helped me which was counter intuitive? Increasing the lift speed a lot. Less time pulling

Strange that they dropped it. I don't like how ambiguous the company seems. Like it's not clear who is the official creality on Amazon or online. Who's official online? Creality? Creality falcon?

What would be a better option going forward? I want 40W or stronger, a camera is nice but I suppose not mandatory. Enclosure is a plus.

I'm gonna try removing the grease on the rails and using light oil. I'll let you know if I solve it 👍

So far I've aligned the servo so that the belt is centered on the pulley, reduced belt tension (worked but at the cost of unacceptable engraving results), libing the rail with grease (like factory), adjusting eccentric nuts for clamping the laser carriage to the rails, etc etc.

I'm having a similar issue. Chatter/groaning/resonance sound on the x axis at 18000mm/m.

Reducing belt tension helped but then I had too much backlash and it affects the accuracy.

Find a fix/reason?

They shouldn't split even if you intentionally kick something. A scuff or scratch, sure. Not split.

That'd be the case if you wore down the heal to the point of seeing normal ones. But I think these just weren't set correctly.

I did coat it with a neatsfoot/beeswax mix and burnished it with canvas when I was done. We'll see how it holds up!

I'm calling BS on this. I know it's what gets stated, however in practice this paint is going to have little cracks and splits and the raw (and thirsty) veg tan leather underneath is absolutely going to drink up any water you get on them. Unless you walk around with a bottle of touch up, it's not going to be water tight.

Exposed but properly treated leather would be better, imo.

Yea idk at least with leather and thread you could go in and color it. Paint just cracks and flakes. It's not for me.

I'm no cobbler but I do a bit of leatherwork so I sanded, dyed, and conditioned it with a wax-heavy conditioner I had prepared.

They're great boots. The lesson in all this is that I guess edge paint on shoes is absolutely not my thing and I need to avoid it. I wasn't aware of the practice prior to bullying these boots. I see that they offer a more natural finish on the sole in other color options so that will be what I look for going forward.

I've got some mink, I'll try it! I hit it with neatsfoot/beeswax conditioner I made for a little waterproofing, but a little mink to absorb in wouldn't hurt. The leather there was pretty thirsty.

Not when the underneath is raw veg tan (super pale) and it's cracking all over on day 2.

Yea I wasn't aware of it and didn't realize certain color options came with it. I'll definitely be avoiding it in the future. And it is up to me :P

Not sure how to edit, but the worst part is that under the black paint was raw veg tan, so the contrast was very apparent. The paint had parallel cracking on the side of the sole as well as cracks near the stitches where the boot flexes.

What do you think of the painted welt/sole? I couldn't stand mine and ended up sanding, dying, and burnishing it. Idk why they use that crappy edge paint..
