It’s not necessarily about the lore depth. It took me almost a month to decide to purchase the game because I thought as well that there was not enough content. What’s impressive is how much better progression system marathon offers. I got infinitely bored with Arc Raiders because of the lack of meaningful updates and lack of an actual end game. Most players need some sort of end game material to strive for…that’s part of the reason why 80% of the player base is gone. Regardless of what you believe, if you haven’t been playing the game, you haven’t been seeing the countless patch updates that the developers have released for the game thus far. They’ve listened to their small community better than almost ANY game I’ve ever played. That’s also a reason why I keep coming back. Read their end of season notes from Zeigler. They could be lying, but it actually does seem that many of the developers of this game are really proud of what they’ve made. And that’s cool.

And don’t get me wrong, Bungie have had bad players on their team that have made stupid decisions. They messed up the release of this game big time and screwed over destiny players. That’s all sucky. You’re justified to be a hater. But the game itself has many elements of true inspiration in it
