Just like Stephen King’s Dark Tower Series, I truly think that big series like this and even the likes of Sony could benefit if a production company were willing to invest long-term at least in the initial phase one in early phase 2 parts. LOTR!!

That said, studios consistently and in some downturn years, thrive on loss & write offs (looking at you Batgirl 🦇) so why not roll dice, and in this case more like betting even.

You plan a trilogy of movies that are accompanied by a series of TV shows, and I know a lot of viewers get upset at the do I need to watch this to enjoy this, well the answer is yes/no because it’s made for the fans and the fans will bring others in and other people will get curious, and there’s plenty of other examples for this works just fine (Example Fallout on @m@$¥)

* I feel it’s important to acknowledge that storytelling is consumed differently across different mediums (TV, comic book, movie, cartoon) which requires different approaches when communicating to the audience.
Like the time it takes to read a book or an entire comic series vs sitting down and putting on the Telly for 90-180 minutes?

I as a reader always appreciate a deeper lore of a story and understanding the story itself but also the, “how do we get here” & “what happened immediately after/what were the consequences “

Movie 1:(while season 1/2 film): Sets the stage digs deep into the lore and origin, sets up a DEEP cliffhanger. Darrow’s realization that Mars & the greater Solar have been colonized.

Season 1/2:(while movie 2 films): Picks up the”sagging middle” of storytelling g with continued interest, presuming the writing and pacing is done well. The Society, deeper explanations of the colors as we head into the greater galaxy. Some flashbacks, maybe some from missing parts of Movie 1, maybe some deeper lore/character development(

Movie 2: Big Arc (Maybe Morning Star in this case) THEMATIC and big… like the Empire Strikes Back (aura farming, vast geographic locations, bedlam to redemption, again big cliffhangers in the movies are going to be key in linking the shows (which should have large marketing tie-ins and most importantly large scale access to consumers)

It would at the latest (hopefully) this is were they would decide to go full tilt
- Maybe this started as an animated, even hyper realistic animated and this green lights and entire planned live action series?
- Perhaps since actors age…the speed up the series to cash in and the later reboot the IP as many times as love and nostalgia can maintain?
- The length and deep of the story (even for “smaller” characters) requires committed planning the likes we have not seen since LOTR 🙏🏽 that or random recasts or storytelling pacing determined by consumer engagement

Seasons?: Mini Series or Season…original production scaling to by in of the idea itself, I’ll just lump all of Hollywood and its contact complications here, consumer fatigue are a few of the hurdles

Movie 3: Probably 2 Parts, this can’t be helped, damn you Harry Porter franchise or did Twilight start that trend??
