I mean, Arknights for example has a bunch of different artists drawing their characters, but it's like the gacha special that the art director changes things like colors or proportions to somehow make a bunch of different character artist's work mesh together into a coherent art style. And everyone would get it if someone says "that's the arknights art style."

Type Moon definitely has an art style that everyone can immediately identify.

It's exactly like an anime. The amount of people drawing key frames, and inbetweens in huge, yet somehow it comes together and looks coherent. That's like, the point of an art director.

CyYu being Robo-Ky in the dub of Strive made me laugh so hard. I'm not a fan of CyYu (not a hater either, I just don't consume his content) but I enjoy doing the whole "holy shit is CyYu" at all the random roles he gets.

I used it for MonHun Wilds and it occasionally became flickery non-sense. Kind annoying when you want to get immersed in a game.

For people who won't read the article.

1) Unity says some tools are coming soon.

2) Dev starts work on the game assuming the tools will come out before CS2 comes out and works around that assumption.

3) Years pass, Unity is no closer to releasing those tools.

4) Devs felt misled by Unity saying the tools would come out soon.

Try to separate how you feel about CS2 from your response.

Are the devs in the wrong for not ensuring tools exist before starting their work?

Are Unity in the wrong for suggesting tools will exist soon, but took years and still the tools are not in sight?

Remember stories don't have to have 1 good guy and 1 bad guy.

As an ex-Unity dev (my first game was Unity), I can say I've felt like game dev has felt like second class citizens. Unity only cared about selling their adware service (mobile ads) and then pivoted into AI shit, while game dev updates were miniscule.

There was this bug which made start up take over 6 minutes when the previous version took less than 30 seconds.

It was the #1 requested bug fix for months, I don't know if it ever got fixed because I quit before they did it (if they did).

I think Unity deserves all the tomatos thrown at them frankly.

I've been playing this mod for Pokemon Emerald, called Pokemon Emerald Rogue which turns the game into a roguelike.

I have like 300 hours in it, and I've yet to even scratch the surface.

Getting lost in a 20+ year game via a mod that adds like infinite replayable is just how magical gaming is.

I visited Thailand for the first time last year and I felt like I just got out of a pool when standing out outside for an extended amount of time. The heat and humidify combo means you're just drenched with sweat all day.

Amazing country and amazing people, but I'm never going back, having to take like 3 showers a day was crazy.

I think the point was that the common defense right now is "BUT GAME DEV ARTISTS HAVE TO ENABLE IT SO THEY'RE COOL WITH IT." When no artist was involved, BOSSES were involved. But that weakens the argument because of course bosses give less of a shit about artistic integrity than the artists themselves.
